Heard Kevin was having back spasms.

Kevin McCullar stood underneath one of the T-Mobile Center baskets as his Kansas men’s basketball teammates ran through a 40-minute, pre-Big 12 tournament shootaround on Wednesday afternoon.

Earlier in the day, McCullar, a 6-foot-6 senior guard who coach Bill Self said was suffering from back spasms, worked out with the No. 3-ranked Jayhawks on a limited basis.

“He was out there. He didn’t do much. (He played) a couple possessions,” Self said of McCullar, a second-team AP All-Big 12 selection.

Asked if McCullar would be available for Thursday’s 2 p.m. quarterfinal against either West Virginia or Texas Tech, Self said: “I don’t know. I hope so. I think he plans on it.”

McCullar did not seem concerned about his back discomfort speaking at a post-shootaround media session Wednesday at T-Mobile Center.

“I’m fine, I was out there at shootaround, getting ready,” McCullar said, noting, “I practiced earlier. (I’m) just getting ready for tomorrow.”

Not saying they need a new one... But I'm pretty confident there's been enough bricks in this OSU/OU game to build a new arena

Good luck to Coach Roberts today. May be a tall task to get the guys to play loose. But let's hope

Top 6 with one exception in the last 10 years...

Overall. Such an odd tournament. With how tight the league was all season I expected a lot closer games. Most of the games ended up being blowouts.

Yeah we like to talk about polls being worthless but it is a solid indicator of talent.

@BShark I'd say it is more precise to say the correlation of eventual champs to those 7 weeks means the polls are more reflective of performance and coaching than talent. (Performance is itself reflective of talent, of course, except for UK this year!)

Anyone know how the preseason polls correlate to eventual champions? Those polls are largely based on talent evaluation, and UNC certainly blew that one.

It almost always comes from the top 11 of the preseason poll as well. I actually saw a stat regarding top 12 teams from the early week polls and thought that's what was being cited here. :grinning_face_with_sweat:
