@approxinfinity They also took Okafor in 2015 when they already had Joel and didn't need another big man that couldn't play next to Joel.

Still on the board in 2015: Prozingis, Myles Turner, Trey Lyles, Devin Booker, Cameron Payne, Kelly Oubre, Terry Rozier, Bobby Portis, Tyus Jones, and Larry Nance.

Also traded Mikal Bridges for Zhaire Smith... Mikal put up 26 ppg this year and Zhaire isn't even on a roster. Of course you can't hit on them all. But Philly really shot themselves in the foot on this one.

The "Process" was an absolute disaster of a rebuild, but I can't say that I blame Philly for taking Okafor in 2015. Philly drafted Okafor knowing full well that Joel Embiid was going to miss his second straight season because of foot issues and didn't know if he would ever play.

Embiid not play a game his first two seasons and only played a little over 1/3 of his third season.

I guess I didn’t realize how bad Philly drafted. Its almost up there with Cleveland

The 2015 class was weak as hell though. Myles Turner was the only other 5 available at 3rd that class that was worth drafting and Okafor was considered a much better prospect that Turner at the time.

Okafor was soft. And bound to the earth. I know i hate Duke but i never would have drafted him, unlike some other Dukies who were clearly talented.

I get your point though. Its fair.

Meh. Regardless, they evaluated Okafor as the best player available. And they were wrong.

At least Philly is smart enough to let James Harden walk. For no apparent reason, the Rockets want him. Last year was the first time since i've been back to Texas that I didn't go to at least one Rockets game. The way it's shaping up, next year isn't looking good, either.

They alluded to interviews not going well. Made me wonder how Darrell Arthurs interviews went, out of curiosity. They always blamed his drop on health concerns but it seemed crazy to me that the correct info didnt right the ship and i never before considered how the interviews might have gone.

@patoh3 IDK, next year I'll be 60 at draft day. I might have to accept reality that it might be time to move on to the Y senior league!
