This is one of the more interesting matchups for KU in more than a decade really. The first Big 12 action for newcomers BYU and Cincy, and UCF later against Silo tech. Our first conference game after a successful non conf schedule. Two unranked but receiving votes type teams means it should be close. BYU fans talking smack on twitter citing their decades of football superiority as the reason why they'll smack us around the base of Mt. Oread. KU fans on the defensive reluctantly talking smack as we still try to decide if our team is really worth investing emotional energy on. Last years strange season was hope giving but also a boon for skeptics who pointed out the losing streak after starting 0-5. (they never really seemed to realize what happened to the team after Jaylon got injured).

So what do you think is happening Saturday?

Me, a narrow 35-31 type game, exciting, high scoring and close.

KU 8.5 pt favorite which tells us something, may come down.

I felt the same way about the Illinois game: If KU wins, it won't be by one score. I see KU winning 31-17.

I think BYU is probably a little better than Nevada, so I'll say we win 75-2.

@FarmerJayhawk They scored 38 against Arkansas. Maybe Arkansas sucks so bad that BYU can have a bad offense and still score that many points, or maybe their offense doesn't suck. But our defense is nothing to brag about. I think this one is a toss up.

Weather going be a factor if it come out. - suppose to have severe risk , heavy rain chances of Tornado pretty bad system coming in. - -Hopefully with some luck it will hold off until later, If raining going to change game plans for sure. - Actually think that would play in our favor, as they have had real trouble running the ball. - If they have to rely on passing they gonna be in trouble not that efficient 61 %

If they can't throw that well rain playing a factor we should have upper hand. they only rushed for 77 yards against Arkansas 0.9 per attempt - We have a lot better balanced attack. rushing and passing lie I think it's around 280 passing & 226 rushing somewhere in that vicinity. - - Should be able to run the ball against them. - I'm still gonna say KU 41 - -BYU 21 - -I just don't think they are gonna put up over 30 points on us in this game. - they got 38 with the help a lot because of Arkansas mistakes.

@wissox they had less than 300 yards of offense and started 4 drives in Arkansas territory. It was a really, really weird game.

@FarmerJayhawk Right. Arkansas had 21 first downs, but was 2/13 on third downs. BYU's longest throw from scrimmage was a trick play on a throw from a WR. 45 of BYU's 77 rushing yards came on one carry (they ran the ball 31 times; if you take out that one long run they ran the ball for 1.06 yards per carry...yikes), Arkansas committed 14 (?!?) penalties for 125 yards...both teams had a return for a TD... I mean, the game was as weird as it gets, and if Arkansas hadn't repeatedly shot themselves in the foot with penalties (and their one INT was REAL bad) they would've won by 2 scores. I wouldn't let the Arkansas outcome scare you. If anything, I think it says more about Arkansas than BYU.

I think this game is similar to the one against Duke last year. BYU will hang around, but the better team will be clear.

ESPN has KU as a 9.5 pt favorite. What are you folks stressing about? Many, many stories about BYU's offense scoring only with smoke and mirrors. Looks like a KU cake walk on Saturday. 4-0 Baby! I always just rely on the odds makers; just like the Nevada game.

Well think there is a decent chance we could have some delays in the game tomorrow. - Watching the local weather today from our Local station here in Topeka. ( WIBW ) they had us at a 40 % of rain this morning, now at 50 %

They said people need to make sure to monitor network, chance of all severe weather. primary risk large hail and damaging winds, but couldn't rule out Tornado. - -they said they would be more concerned about the KU game as location was further East - One small sliver of hope is they said chances probably would be after 3 in the afternoon. - -Hopefully e can get it in without to much problems.

Arkansas beat their selves -14 penalties - -they don't want to get in a shootout against us, they got and ok offense but doesn't compare to ours. - Decent defense but I still think we will be able to put up points.

If Liepold pulled a healthy JD for a crappy Bean jump pass to end that game he’s a terrible coach. Bean is barely passable as a backup. I really though JD was injured, but if what you say is correct… lol @KU football. What a joke.

Great job refocusing at the half and their QB was a lot more modest that half with less than 140 yards and 2 picks. Will be an up hill battle in Austin next week but I’m proud of this group, players, coaches and administrators. 4-0 back to back for the first time in a 107 years.

The offense must work on its short yardage plays. KU did fine all day running wide, but when KU needs one stinking yard, what play gets called? Yep, slow handoff to RB up the middle for a one yd loss. Make it a run/pass option and take it wide with the option to pass for the short yardage. Jeez

Can KU beat average/bad Big 12 teams on the road that they're supposed to beat? Can they go to Stillwater, can they go to Ames, can they go to Cincinnati and win those 3 games? Those are the types of games KU has to start winning to take the next step in their growth as a program because those are teams that are either close to equal to KU or KU is definitively better than right now.

Swain and Kevin brought up differences between last years game and this one coming talking about How their O-line just bullied us off the line last year , they talked about how our D-Tackles are bigger, better & more physical & our other Tackle - -they talked about the maturity of our secondary knowing their schemes now just being able to go out and play Cobee out of their 51 pass attempts only targeted FIVE times /

Thing I have noticed before - - More Physical - - Bigger - - and quicker, BETTER SPEED, - -they are quicker , - -Better gang tackling - -Now not saying that this is going to save us and we gonna win -- -but CAN'T HURT
