Missouri hasn't proven much this year. They've lost to Jackson St., Ken Pom 262 and Memphis, have no notable victories, with maybe a win over Pitt as their best. This team used to scare the daylights out of me each time we played them as records seemed not to matter too much. But their ineptitude since leaving the league is pretty shocking.

176–95 since first meeting in 1907, and more recently, the good guys winning 13 out of the last 15 meetings. Kinda warms my heart..

Until the KC game, I thought Hunter was doing fine with the antagonistic defenses that teams throw at him. The KC frontcourt players were definitely leaning on Hunter and being physical, but that's to be expected. I sure hope KU's staff has reviewed the KC defense video and challenged Hunter not to react to the defensive strategy designed to get him aggitated. Hunter's going to see a lot more of that defense going forward. Our staff can watch Hunter and give him more breaks during to game to deal with his frustration and anger. We know Hunter has a temper and loses control; a couple of minutes on the bench will keep him in the game. Who remembers Paul Mokeski in the NBA? His role was to act as the enforcer/hacker in the paint. His days with Detroit is what I remember. Paul is still one of my great memories at KU.

A Kansas Jayhawk, KSU Wildcat, and Missouri Tiger are walking along a beach and find a magic lamp so of course they rub it and a magical genie pops out and says he'll grant them one wish each.

The Missouri Tiger being the impatient creature that they are says that Columbia, MO is the greatest city to ever exist, and he's tired of outsiders coming in and contaminating this most glorious city, so naturally he asks the genie to build a wall around Columbia to keep outsiders away from his paradise. The genie snaps his fingers and makes a wall pop up around Columbia.

The KSU Wildcat is next and tells the genie about his family history of wheat farming in Kansas going back to the 1800's and asks the genie to make the farmlands of Kansas forever fertile, so the genie with a bob of his head makes Kansas the most fertile place on earth.

The Kansas Jayhawk is last and while trying to decide what to wish for, is intrigued by the idea of wall around Lawrence so he decides to ask the genie about the details of the wall around Columbia. The genie tells him the wall is 50' tall and 25' thick and that nobody can get in or out. The Jayhawk, after thinking for a few minutes, makes his decision and tells the genie to fill in Columbia with water.

This renewed rivalry has not worked out in the slightest for Fizzou to the point I wonder if they will sign back up for it. What do we have left on it? One in Columbia and one in KC?

It's been downhill ever since for them and the whole state. My Dad (Allen County KS) called them Pukes. They got that name when a lead ore was discovered in Galena Il. In 1820 the uncouth ruffians. from border towns around St. Louis poured in IL looking for jobs. Governor Ford said Missouri had vomited or puked the ruffians on Illinois.

With the disaster unfolding in Arizona right now I'm really looking forward to the main event.

@jayballer67 I never knew if I believed the Norm Stewart stories about not spending any money in Kansas, but it's probably true. I just heard the new moron coach over there practiced at AFH the day before the game and then had the team bus take them back to Kansas City (Missouri) to spend Friday night before coming back Saturday for the game. The TV announcers said that. What an incredible waste of time, gas and resources. No wonder they're called Mizzery. Among other things.

@nuleafjhawk I had no prior reason to dislike the Missori coach before reading that, so I'm glad I can now rightfully dislike the man for being a whiny sniveling lugubrious miserable snotnosed lil brat.

In the post game they (Mizzou players) named our 2 players they said they were going to go at. They were weak defensibly. We'd never mention players like that!

UMKC which is in Missouri is affiliated with Children’s Mercy, which has a South location in Overland Park, Kansas. Makes no sense other than people drawing lines in the sand.
