8/10 Experts Predict a Bills Win
Nov 14, 2024 02:22 PM #1

I really like these big games. Beating Josh Allen and the Bills in Buffalo is just about as satisfying as a SB win. I figure the Chiefs are due for a good game and will be up for the Bills. But, good lord the offensive line needs to protect Mahomes better. There are plays where the defenders run into the backfield unhindered and untouched by the O line. Unlike the experts, I'm looking forward to some Josh Allen misfires, followed by INTs. I really want to see some deep passes by Mahomes if he's ever given time to throw. 10-0 and a near certain lock on the #1 seed will be very sweet.

Nov 14, 2024 02:39 PM #2

@stoptheflop Bring it! I love the bewildered look in Josh’s eyes when Mahomes orchestrates a comeback and beats his team yet again. - although the Bills have won a few regular season games against the Chiefs (I’m ok with that as long as the playoff record remains unblemished!!!)

Nov 14, 2024 05:10 PM #3

@stoptheflop I’m thinking the chiefs have been on the razors edge for too long and drop this game. I wouldn’t be shocked if they pulled it off but late in the year road games at Buffalo usually don’t go well for the visitors. The offensive line is becoming an issue yet again this year Taylor #74 sucks and is the most penalized player in the NFL the last few seasons. I know with cap and everything you can’t always fix every issue but it’s becoming bigger and bigger. The run game has all but stopped with Hunt only averaging 3.6 YPC and the team at 3.8 YPC on the season. I don’t have the numbers in front of me but I’d bet the farm that’s bottom 10 in this league. I actually like Hunt and think he has done as much as he can, really like some of his involvement in the passing game. Sounds like Pop could be back as early as 2 weeks from now so that may help us in that regard. Getting the running game going is what’s gonna help this team take the next step.

Nov 14, 2024 06:56 PM #4

Actually, the Chiefs are tied for 1st in OL run blocking win rate, and are 5th in pass block win rate. We also have the lowest percentage of stuffed runs (zero or neg yds).

The OL is making the blocks at a high rate. But when PM can't find receivers open the pocket breaks down. Similarly, the run blocking is elite and Pacheco has the blasting power to do more with those than Hunt. Hopefully, we will see the avg grow then.

Taylor does well when not getting penalized, and was almost flawless in the SB.. Our bigger problem is left tackle, where both players seem very slow in realizing they have to actually move their feet left rather then trying arm tackles and holding.

Nov 15, 2024 03:30 AM #5

@mayjay I don’t see any numbers to support that. Chiefs are ranked 30th of 32 on average rush per attempt and 21st of 32 on rushing yards per game. I don’t give a rip what PFF grades them at that’s not a great run blocking line. Hunt and Pop are usually breaking tackles just to get to the line scrimmage. PM masks a lot of pass block issues with his feet, against Denver he turned a few what would be sacks for most QBs into positive yards with legs.

Nov 15, 2024 11:34 AM #6

Blocking win rates help evaluate OL regardless of whether that directly correlates to rushing yardage averages because of other factors. There is a reason our 3 interior linemen were selected by numerous players as midseason All Pros.

Incidentally, look at how low the Chiefs' pressure and sack rates are in the pass blocking chart.

https://www.sharpfootballanalysis.com/analysis/nfl-offensive-line-pass-run-block-rankings-win-rate/ ↗

The article says ESPN created these metrics but I have seen the win rates cited for years by many sources, including for college players in the draft.

Anyone talking about Butker to the IR?

Nov 15, 2024 12:26 PM #8

This will be a very tough game for Chiefs.

Nov 15, 2024 01:42 PM #9

@approxinfinity The Athletic article generated almost 200 comments, almost all of which were "karma" comments saying he deserved it and other vile hateful stuff.

Seems like election frustration getting directed at Butker. Not proud of my fellow libs.

Nov 15, 2024 02:19 PM #10

@approxinfinity Yeah. It sucks. Losing the 2nd most accurate kicker of all time is a blow. The guy they signed off the Jets practice squad looks really good though.

I think Butker should be called flamethrower. He makes the snowflakes melt. lol you should see all the ā€œcan he find the kitchen while he’s homeā€ jokes.

Nov 15, 2024 03:19 PM #11

This election was lost for dems on economic policy or appearance thereof but if people want to beat on gender politics that is their prerogative.

Hope the Jets guy is solid.

Nov 15, 2024 04:56 PM #12

Melt I say.

Nov 15, 2024 06:20 PM #13

Heard his surgeon was a woman! šŸ’ŖšŸ¼ Nice to see her use her degrees!

Nov 15, 2024 10:29 PM #14

@mayjay that is interesting for sure, thanks for the link. I just go off of my own eyes and see Hunt getting hit before the line of scrimmage repeatedly and only averaging 3.6 yards per carry.

Nov 15, 2024 11:55 PM #15

lol that’s what cracks me up. Simple minded people can’t grasp his not complex message that family is more important than anything. Comical how warped people get when they want to be triggered.

Nov 16, 2024 01:32 AM #16

He went a little bit beyond "family is more important than anything."

I believe he should be able to say what he thinks in a commencement speech and I believe that his personal beliefs and his performance on the field should be disentangled.

I also get why some people thought some things he said seemed a bit anachronistic. People are free to have their opinions.

The judgey stuff is what I don't like. And it comes from both sides.

Nov 16, 2024 02:33 AM #17

Butker is just posturing for his post NFL career in politics. Probably not even injured.

Expect to win Sunday without him

Nov 16, 2024 02:48 AM #18

@dylans šŸ’Æ percent correct sir.

Nov 16, 2024 02:12 PM #19

There seems to be some excitement that Juju S-S is returning to the lineup. Before the injured hamstring, he appeared in 6 games with 18 tgts, 9 rec for 147yds. One TD and one catch went for 50 yds. I sure hope he turns into a Bills-killer Sunday. Man, I want the Chiefs to beat Allen and the Bills. KU basketball, then KU football, then Chiefs football. What a great weekend. Enjoy!

Nov 16, 2024 04:43 PM #20

@stoptheflop Yes I’m excited to see what this team can do once they get a few guys back. They are on pace to healthier than they have been all season within the next month. Juju should be back this week, got Dana back on the D line last week. Pop and Brown are supposed to be back before the end of the regular season.

Nov 17, 2024 02:23 PM #21

I try to ignore the referees' role in games because they are a necessary evil. But, for those Chiefs' fans who do pay attention to referees, good news I guess: Land Clark's crew is assigned to this game and since the Bills are the #2 penalized team f0r presnap fouls, some report this is an advantage to the Chiefs. Land Clark's crew calls the most presnap penalties, like illegal formation and false start. The report claims the Chiefs are the least penalized team on presnap fouls; this despite Jawann Taylor's history of FS penalties. So, if these tendencies stay true, we should see some presnap penalties called on the Bills, thus giving the Chiefs' defense a much needed advantage.

Nov 17, 2024 03:48 PM #22

Chiefs are simultaneously due for a loss and a big offensive game. Will be interesting to see how we show up.

Nov 17, 2024 08:43 PM #23

The Ravens/Steelers game could go into OT and we will miss part of our game.. Sure hope not

Nov 17, 2024 08:44 PM #24

@Kcmatt7 let's go for O game! It's been a never mind 🤐

Nov 17, 2024 08:52 PM #25

Ravens just scored. 2 pts away from likely OT

Nov 17, 2024 08:53 PM #26

Whew, no OT

Nov 17, 2024 09:09 PM #27

Got a little too greedy on that one

Nov 17, 2024 09:17 PM #28

Mahomes 10th INT puts KC 7 behind. Terrible start for KC

Nov 17, 2024 09:20 PM #29

The line may try to attempt something that resembles pass block

Nov 17, 2024 09:36 PM #30

Bills D has come ready to play

Nov 17, 2024 09:45 PM #31

Nice response there by Mahomes and Worthy

Nov 17, 2024 09:47 PM #32

Nice drive.

Glad to see Worthy getting in a lot of action.

Nov 17, 2024 10:00 PM #33

Idk about that catch but was probably too close to overturn

Nov 17, 2024 10:02 PM #34

Yeah, I concur.

Got to keep Cooper in check.

Nov 17, 2024 10:08 PM #35

Worthy had a great drive last time but he has to work on toe taps. He had plenty of room it make that catch

Nov 17, 2024 10:09 PM #36

Mahomes is sea glass. Unpolished and washed up

Nov 17, 2024 10:13 PM #37

That was big time by Chamari.

Nov 17, 2024 10:23 PM #38

Nice to get TD off a TO

Nov 17, 2024 10:23 PM #39

For a minute it looked like KU's Grimes was calling the plays when KC was on the 2 yd line.

Nov 17, 2024 10:24 PM #40

@nuleafjhawk said in 8/10 Experts Predict a Bills Win:

Mahomes is sea glass. Unpolished and washed up

Zero problems with Mahomes play today other than the ill advised pick. I watched Alex Smith ESPN say this has been Mahomes best year when you consider the amount of weapons he has had out. Hes in the top 13 in the NFL in every QB statistical category without a top 50 receiver. Maybe Dhop is top 50 but he’s only been there a few weeks.

Nov 17, 2024 10:31 PM #41

They missed a face mask, here comes the refs helping crew lol

Nov 17, 2024 10:47 PM #42

Buffalo 38 off plays, 217 yds; Chiefs 26 off plays, 130 yds. New Chiefs' kicker making extra pts though. Kelse no catches.

Nov 17, 2024 10:51 PM #43

Very interesting game. Feels like a playoff level game.

Nov 17, 2024 10:57 PM #44

Smh the offensive line has been decent today besides in short yardage

Nov 17, 2024 11:06 PM #45

Got to get Kelce involved more now

Nov 17, 2024 11:12 PM #46

o sacks on Allen; Mahomes running for his life every snap

Nov 17, 2024 11:14 PM #47

Bills D is very solid today

Nov 17, 2024 11:14 PM #48

@stoptheflop huge holding call there to, like I said above idc what stat you wanna show this offensive line has struggled most the season. With a non mobile QB they are giving up sacks

Nov 17, 2024 11:15 PM #49

That missed face mask was a bummer. But I guess we’re even now.

Nov 17, 2024 11:27 PM #50

I’m okay with losing to the bills in the regular season

Nov 17, 2024 11:28 PM #51

Blitzing is fun but when it doesn't get home you are very thin in the defensive backfield.

Nov 17, 2024 11:29 PM #52

Bills are much better team today.

They have Chiefs # during regulat season.

Nov 17, 2024 11:38 PM #53

D need a stop now

Nov 17, 2024 11:38 PM #54

Let’s see if the defense can get a stop

Nov 17, 2024 11:52 PM #55

This will be a good game to go back and watch the film.

Nov 17, 2024 11:56 PM #56

It was a nice play but play of the year?

Nov 17, 2024 11:57 PM #57

First time in over 2 years the defense has gave up more than 28 points.

Nov 17, 2024 11:59 PM #58

Josh Allen made some big plays

He is tough to bring down

Nov 18, 2024 12:00 AM #59

Tough hole to dig out of.

Nov 18, 2024 12:00 AM #60

Dang, wanted to complete the weekend! šŸˆā¤ļø gotta get rid of that crappy first quarter.

Nov 18, 2024 12:05 AM #61

I think that last play sums up the game, bills rush only 4 and Mahomes is running for his life

Nov 18, 2024 12:08 AM #62

8 out of 10 experts were right

Nov 18, 2024 12:09 AM #63

@AsadZ Allen, Burrow and Jackson are just as good as Mahomes maybe even better in the regular season. The trouble is they don’t make plays in the playoffs that win games.

Nov 18, 2024 12:15 AM #64

Good news is there isn’t a ton of better teams to get right against than the panthers

Nov 18, 2024 12:17 AM #65

72 fish are popping corks tonight. Probably should not wait on the last team to lose at their age though…

Nov 18, 2024 04:17 PM #66

Dang, there goes a perfect season. Oh well. Lots of blame to go around. But, the Bills are on a roll now, too.

The Dolphins legacy lives on.

Nov 18, 2024 05:25 PM #67

@rockchalkjayhawk You know, we could have a perfect season every year. All we have to do is score more points than the other team.

Nov 18, 2024 06:03 PM #68

@mayjay the joke of the day on ESPN radio this morning was the audio from the chiefs drafting Wanya Morris. Everyone is basically saying Morris and Taylor maybe the worst tackles in the NFL right now. Watching some highlights today while I eat lunch, the key was Mahomes was under pressure constantly yesterday. Allen was only touched twice and never sacked. No reason to panic but the chiefs got their butts kick in the trenches.

Nov 18, 2024 09:36 PM #69

It was clear from get go that Bills wanted this one more than Chiefs.

You could tell from reaction of their players towards the end, seemed like they had just won a playoffs game or made a huge upset.

Nov 18, 2024 09:42 PM #70

@AsadZ ya they were going nuts on the bench waving towels and such. Place was buzzing like it was a playoff game for sure. But it’s not and that wasn’t even close to the chiefs best game but I feel like buffalo couldn’t have played much better.

Nov 18, 2024 10:20 PM #71

I am hoping in the not too distant future that Mahomes and Worthy can find a way to connect better on those wide open deep passes.

They seem to be there. There’s evidence so far this season he can get open deep. Seems like Mahomes can’t put the ball in the right spot, or Worthy gets tangled up.

Nov 18, 2024 11:18 PM #72

@rockchalkjayhawk Just before he throws the ball, his thought process is "Whataburger, KC Royals, WNBA, State Farm commercials, all the other commercials....where the hell am I? Oh yeah - throw the ball"

Nov 19, 2024 01:01 AM #73

@rockchalkjayhawk some of the throws could’ve been better for sure but yesterday it was all on Worthy. He isn’t even trying to toe tap or drag the second foot. He is still used to college and it being one foot. But I think he’ll get there sooner rather than later l. That pass yesterday was out by maybe a half inch
