Weird day and time for an NFL game. I'm really tired of hearing that the Chiefs are the worst 10-1 team blah, blah, blah. Come on Chiefs, play a decent game and don't keep it close with the Raiders. ESPN favors the Chiefs by 13, but those idiots also favored Duke by 4.
I like the chiefs in this one, they got us at home last year and Patrick remembers the Kermit
r/Showerthoughts: So, if the Chiefs 3peat, that kicker from the Panthers game filling in for Butker and then somehow he got hurt, whatever his name was will get a ring right?
If you are not in KC, would you need Prime TV subscription to watch?
Thats a bummer.
Thanks
It says
Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. (Arrowhead Time) on Amazon Prime, KSHB (NBC/41-Kansas City) and KTNV (ABC/13-Las Vegas).
This means that folks not living in KC will need to stream on prime which I don’t have so I’m not going to be able to watch
Sounds like you can sign up for a 30-day free trial to Amazon Video.

Watching the Duck Dynasty dudes on Prime pre-game. Let's go Chiefs.

BTW, not to derail the Chiefs thread, but there are some good shows to try out on Amazon Video. Movies, too. Maybe worth a month to see if any are worth it for you. I'm about to start the new Alex Cross detective show. sounds good. The first season of Reacher was great (the second not so much). Gen V is outrageously gory but fun. Plus they have a bunch of old classic TV series if you're into it. Just watched Eureka. So, maybe worth a free trial to see if you enjoy it. Plus the Thursday night football of course.
Penalties are already taking a toll
This game looks so typical of the Chiefs-move the ball well between the 20s, but can't score TDs and have to settle for FGs.
Aren't the Chiefs near the bottom in Red Zone rankings? Sometimes the play callers just get too complicated with all the twists and turns.
Who was it that was giving me jazz a few weeks ago saying the Chiefs had one of the best lines in the game? He sure looks like a fool these last few weeks, once again the worst tackles in the NFL
Tackle issues
Watching 64 just let players breeze by him untouched is kind of aggravating.
@rockchalkjayhawk #64 is the master of the lookout block
Chris Jones coming out party!!
I sure don't understand the 10 sec runoff. What did the Chiefs do wrong?
@stoptheflop Nothing, but the refs stopped the clock for the review. The runoff is because the refs stopping the clock to make sure of a call is not supposed to unfairly aid a team with no timeouts. If we had a timeout, we could have used it to keep 14 secs.
@stoptheflop right so because the refs stopped the clock not being sure if he caught it. Which he did, we are going to penalize them. Which is silly because they could’ve ran a play and got to closer for the FG attempt
I feel like the raiders play outside their minds against us. The last few years if they played that way the other 16 games, they’d be a playoff team
@kjayhawks Well 10 seconds might be fair. After all, the Bears took 26 seconds! 🤪

that seemed totally ridiculous. why penalize the Chiefs in that situation? makes zero sense.

Who else was screaming at the TV for the Bears to get going or call TO? Jeez
This is a bit of a weird game. The Chiefs have been awesome against the run this year, but the Raiders are adding up the rushing yards.
Penalties Damn Damn
Can’t seem to score TDs
Kelce and Mahomes don’t always seem to be on the same page this year
Red Zone woes.
D breakdown
This Rookie TE is good
@kjayhawks said in Everyone Hates the Raiders:

I think some of that is because Mahomes doesn't have the time to see how Kelce is going to react while Mahomes is running for his life.
Chiefs need a long TD drive
Not a good vibe
Momentum is shifting
Just like last week, could’ve blown it wide open but didn’t when the opportunity was there
Crazy what Mahomes highlight reel would look like if people actually caught some of these crazy throws. That Dhop pass and the one in the Bucs Super Bowl were just plain magic to get the ball out
Feel like the time has passed on the shovel pass working Andy
Damn, dudes are just walking by Morris now. we need to get that new acquisition healthy and in the game. How can you not even put hands on the defender???
Mahomes getting a little irritated after being hit about everytime he drops back. This team is starting to remind me of the team that lost to the Bucs in the SB. They can’t block to save their lives at this point.
Come on now: Let's get a long scoring drive here
TD and extra point locks it up. let's go Chiefs! Suck it up, OL!
embarrassing
Alright!
That was a Grimes type of play call
That was a tough call
Ugh. Too many three and outs with the game on the line. Here we go!
Why not a Steele run on 3rd and 2?
Shoot gonna fart around and lose this
Wow lucky as hell today
Wow. Raiders are gonna Raider i guess.
nice to count on that.
But jeez. Appalling display by the Chiefs on that last drive.
Chiefs need to go back to the drawing board to figure out a few things.
I honestly think the refs panicked and didn’t know what to do. It wasn’t an illegal formation that I saw. The only question is if they blew it dead before Reid recovered but the keyboard warriors will have a field day with this.
@kjayhawks not in the same book
We're going to be the worst 3-peat Super Bowl Champs in the history of the NFL
@nuleafjhawk the positive is this team hasn’t played one clean game all season
That was a very confusing ending. The ball was snapped before the Raiders were set. QB wasn’t even looking but said he clapped his hands too early. If they weren’t set, it should have been a false start. But Illegal Formation? Did KC decline it?
@Gorilla72 It was an illegal shift. Multiple guys were in motion when the ball was snapped. False start stops the play from beginning. The penalty was declined because we got the fumble.
Weird that both halves ended so unusually!

How Chiefs won today is beyond my comprehension and imagination
Btw, I think today’s referee crew needs to go back to drawing board as well. They sure muddled some stuff up. Made some simple calls seem questionable to the audience. And flat out called the wrong team for a penalty early on. Crazy.
Wow, QB O'Connell had 340 yds, 2 TDs to Mahomes 306 yds, 1 TD. And Raiders had 116 yds rushing to KC's 63. This season is so stange. KC was awful in this game on both sides of the ball. But our 3rd kicker did just fine.
@stoptheflop we'll get to the Super Bowl and Mahomes will be 38/38 for 635 yards, 7 TD's and no interceptions ......and we'll lose on a 72 yard field goal with no time left on the clock.
@nuleafjhawk nailed it!

I've been writing the same things about the Bears except change won to lost and it'll be accurate!
Secondary is struggling mightily.
Since Jaylen Watson's injury, there has been several miscommunication and gaps.
Just recently this used to be a position of strength, now they need help.
The need for Snead!
I no longer believe the phrase a win is a win. This team has huge problems starting with Mahomes' often poor passing; No 15 is missing wide open receivers, sometimes when he's not under pressure. Maybe the trauma of usually having to run for his life carries over to plays when the defense isn't rushing hard. But, I haven't seen Mahomes miss so many receivers as he has this year. Add in Kelsey's decline and the constant loss of wide outs to injury and I just don't see how his team gets past its first playoff game. But I didn't count on blocking the short Denver FG attempt or O'Connell's incredibly slow reaction to the early hiked ball. My goodness, it hit him center chest and I don't think he even realized it until after the Chiefs recovered. I guess I could change my thinking and expectations: who needs to pick up that first down with 2 minutes left when all the Chiefs have to do is let the opponent find a way to lose the game on its final possession.
Yea, it’s been a weird year for sure for the Chiefs. Dumb luck is dumb luck though. I’d rather have it than not.
You could pretty easily argue that Mahomes has had to adjust to new receivers pretty frequently. Some not very good in some ways. Same goes for Andy and the coaches. Maybe it’s harder than what we think to game plan and adjust.
My two cents: think about how bad it could have been without the Hunt pickup.
The big surprise to me vs the Raiders was how poorly the defense played against the run. We’d been pretty damn good all year. I think some of that was Jones continually lining up outside to find a better matchup, hurting our chances of stopping the run.
The CBs, that’s another story…
The offensive line and the secondary are what concerns me on this team so right now. Mahomes has been a little off at times but also has been sacked the 5th most times of any QB in the NFL right now. Thats with him making plays like he did to Dhop on Friday that ends in sack for 90% of the QBs in this league. Mahomes is currently in the top 9 in just about every QB stat category- yards, touchdowns, completion percentage and QBR. Thats without having his top 2 receivers he went thru camp with in Rice and Brown. Prior to Dhop this roster didn’t have an active top 50 WR in the NFL. Kelce will be there when it matters just like last season.
Hopefully Hollywood and Watson can return by close of regular season
@AsadZ Watson is out for the season I believe.
Per ESPN
14 hours agoBrown (shoulder) is scheduled for a checkup with his surgeon during Week 15 and could receive clearance to resume practicing thereafter, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Spin: Brown has been out all season after suffering a sternoclavicular joint injury to his left shoulder in the Chiefs' Aug. 10 preseason opener and then undergoing surgery in mid-September. Though initial reports after his surgery was performed suggested that Brown would likely miss the entire regular season, the wideout has seemingly avoided any setbacks thus far in the recovery process and looks like he'll have a chance to get in a few tune-up games before the playoffs get underway. If Brown's surgeon is satisfied with the health of his shoulder following the upcoming checkup, the Chiefs will likely open the receiver's 21-day practice window before mapping out a target date for his season debut. Rapoport notes that Brown could be ready for game action as soon as Week 16, when the Chiefs host the Texans on Dec. 21.
