We have gone 3-2 since the new season proclamation through one of our harder stretches.

After that declaration our bigs have been pretty good. Flory has receded a bit but KJ and Hunt seem way more motivated than they were.

Another new season starts now. I hope Dajuan can lock in as floor general and be efficient, and Mayo and Rylan can find shooting consistency on the road. T-Mobile Center should be a good transitionary “home away from home” stepping stone.

Couple of misc things here. - -- Am I the only one or are there others like me that can't help but wonder what happened with dam what was his name- -Bryce Thompson ?- -that a lot were hot on he played here for a year and then transferred to Okie St ?- My thinking is he just didn't ever develop anymore did he ? --I thought he was going to be really good , but never did develop/progress like I thought he would. Anyone else think that ?- -maybe just me.

The other thing I was thinking about , I think KU should go into this tourney free and easy , no pressure , no one is expecting us to do anything this wee. Everyone picking Houston and very validly so
-BUT saw during the Okie St/Cinn game KU wasn't even listed with a 10 % chance to win it- - -under a 10 % chance. - Would love to have people sleep o us just tossing us out as an after thought -- let them go ahead and over look us.- -Not saying we will win it all but yet should be be some MoJo for us.

I agree with some others even in our last couple of losses I think we have been playing better. Played Texas Tech rally close - -Played Houston at Houston tough within six giving them 37 more opportunities to score with twenty turnovers and giving up 17 offensive rebounds.

If we would/could live up to our potential/clean game-- we have proven wrere3e capable of doing damage. -We have Beaten Duke yes early , beaaten N Carolina , beaten Michigan St - - Beaten Iowa St -we gave Houston the game in the last minute once & played them within six at their place- -wewre quite capable of making a run-- it's just a matte of doing it

@nuleafjhawk I went to one game this year. It would pay for all the streaming services for a few years for each ticket. And they weren’t court side seats either! It’s a bargain if you want to see KU ball. If not it’s a rip off. To each their own. I used to be content reading the newspaper to find out about the Jayhawks too.

Today is all low/mid major championship games. None of the ACC games are on ESPN/ESPN2 either today. Only big time match up on either network is the WCC title game between Gonzaga and St. Mary's.

@dylans i went to a baseball game, good seats, and the juice was definitely not worth the squeeze. By comparison streaming services dont look like a ripoff.

I went to the Rockets game last night. Concession prices were so damn ridiculous. $17 for a chicken tender basket with fries, $11.50 for a souvenir sized soda. Premium beer was $15 and regular beer was $11. A bottle of water was $6.50. I think the big bucket of popcorn was $13 and the small bucket was $8.

I paid less than $25 for the ticket (front row of the upper bowl) from Stubhub, but it's the concession prices that are keeping regular families away from games. I ha e so much respect for Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur Blank for keeping concession prices low at the Falcons stadium.

I pay less for the Disney/Hulu/ESPN+ bundle than it costs for a family to buy concessions, not tickets, just concessions, at a Houston Rockets game.

Probably for the best he left because he's still a very limited offensive player. His best PER rating for a season was this year and it's 14.2 which is below average. As much people crap on Dejuan and KJ here, they're both better overall offensive players than Bryce. He's AJ Storr levels of inefficient on offense. He is a good defender though and would've been a nice defensive stopper on a good team though.

I think i saw where Torvik has KU a top 10ish team in their last 5 with improved offense stats. Perhaps a glimmer of hope or grasping at straws.

Had Houston and Tech in 1 possession games late and didn't finish. That's who they have been. You always hope some kind of improvement can be made after several lessons along the way. If the group comes together and plays for the Jersey on the front, anything is possible.

Tonight is giving a spotlight to the low major conference tournament games including several conference championship games. Those are more exciting games than watching a bunch a crappy major conference teams in an opening round game.

UCF is a gifted offensive team and gave us everything we could handle in Allen, we were short-handed that day but still. They are going to have to shoot the ball well tonight to win. Doing that away from home has been a problem..

If one of Storr or Rylan would show up each game it would have helped all year.

In retrospect I think we should have started AJ @Texas-Hawk-10. I am assuming we wont shake that up for the tournament either. All of the churn took its toll and i think Self is done shuffling.

For those wondering: Zeke has played in the NCAAs a few times now i think.

Hoping that means he'll be at least somewhat comfortable and be home field Zeke.

I would think if you totaled the number of NCAA Tournament games played by players on every team, KU would have to be near the top if not the top.

I just want to avoid a first round (cough, cough, Bradley) loss.

We could pretty much wreck our bracket if we come ready to play. I'm most worried about St. John's but not overlooking Arkansas.

Ugg I could not finish a bracket; just can’t convince myself that KU will win more than 2 games tops. (And I’m a major homer, I know!) I never watch once KU is done. So the bracket remains 1/8 filled out.

@dylans Glass half full - KU loses the first game - BUT - we win the Big 12 in football.

@nuleafjhawk Dude why set yourself up for that level of disappointment? How about KU football finishes above .500 and gets a toilet bowl invite?!?

@drgnslayr I'm probably wrong for this way of thinking but it is what it is I reckon. My train of thought is most of the time we go into this tourney as a high seed-- a -- one- or two something like that , which adds motivation to the other team & just adding pressure for us to preform well just expected to win every year.

Well this year it's just the opposite , no one is expecting squat- nothing , -- -so actually w should come in and be able to play loose -- just let it fly , pressure this year is going to be on the opponent , again nobody thinking jack about us, We are usually the Hunted - -this year we can be the Hunter. Go out have fun , laugh , enjoy the opportunity to be the spoiler. Actually have heard some analyst say KU could very well be the sleeper in the tourney, If we play like we could then might make a little run. Every win is a bonus , we are playing with House Money. -Why Not ?

@SlimShaddy54 I agree 100%. For my personal amusement, I’ve taken it even further. This year, for the first year maybe since Danny, we’re an underdog — not a horrible seed (top half of the bracket), but our team seems to be in disarray and never really gelled. So I’ve made a decision to recategorize as a Cinderella, with the benefit of providing hope and smug satisfaction for every game we win, with little/no surprise or disappointment if we lose. This is going to be hard to pull off. Wish me luck.
