What tandem will be better than Flory / Peterson

1 recruit at their position for their respective classes. Will anyone have a better 2 man combo?

@approxinfinity Will any teams do more with lesser combos? Yup.

Who knows. Lots of unknowns about both of them. If Texas Tech gets someone to pair with JT Toppin that could be a great combo. Or Purdue with Braden Smith and Kaufman-Renn is a good one

@nuleafjhawk Not a fair comparison. If they are in the top combo position, literally every other team, or roughly 99.7% of men's teams, have a chance to do better. Betting the field that is that large is pretty safe.

I'm interested in Flory becoming a serious shot-block threat. If he does the perimeter defense will improve massively. Its easy to pressure the ball when you have a shot blocker behind you.

Obviously there is a sample size caveat but as a freshman that is the one thing he was phenomenal at. 98th percentile block rate, 96th percentile in blocks per game despite his limited playing time etc

Needs to get his fouling under control and I wouldn't hate if he passed it out a bit more but other than that, I like him quite a bit.

@BigBad

Wouldn't be surprised if he averaged close to 3 or more blocks a game next yr.

Feel like Flory needs to be watching tape of the Houston bigs cause he can be a monster on the offensive glass too

@MR11 1000% this.

Feel like a lot of Flory's problems are his own, lack of strength. He gets the board-they rip it from him. They throw him an oop and he started putting them on the floor instead of throwing them down. Last thing a big man needs to do.

He is young and only played basketball in the States for a few years now. Just part of his growth that's to come.
