He needs to go. Fining Leipold for truthfully stating that a pocket knife was thrown onto the field is an unacceptable form of censorship and corruption.
Coach lied
No. It has now been confirmed by police that a pocket knife has been found on the field.
It wasn't thrown from the stands or hit a coach. A player picked it up near the field and gave it to coach.
All of this. Err merrr gerddddd
In my view, a video of someone handing a knife to someone else does nothing to disprove that the knife was thrown. Anyways, even if Leipold did lie about where the knife landed, the essence of the claim was that it was thrown, which is 100% true. Lance should not have been fined.
I wish it wasnāt true, but lance said it hit a coach.
Hoping somebody told him that and he didnāt make it up.
If the knife is Swiss it will probably be deported now.
Big difference between lying and just being wrong based on incorrect info.
If no coach got hit, Lance must, uh, quitā¦
@approxinfinity maybe a coach told him he got hit or another coach got hit. Iām sure our AD knows the truth.
These Are the dumb things that happen to a team when the wheels fall off and they break.
Beat the Kitties next weekend or I do fear this team may become laughable
@Crimsonorblue22 sorry that a bad Johnnie Cochran joke.
If it doesnāt fit, you must acquit!
@approxinfinity Iām slow
What if the coach that said it hit him was DK and we fire him!!
@Crimsonorblue22 nah, im trying too hard.
I had read that it could have been a groundskeeper or one of the workers that may have inadvertently dropped it prior to the game. I had also read that it could have been a trainerās pocketknife that was used to cut tape and had been accidentally left there. The owner of the pocketknife most likely came forward and that is how it was known that it was not thrown.
Somebdy get a rope Lance lied supposedly Lordie have Mercy, Give me a Break, next thing you know he will be stealing chewing gum from the Concessions. My God things must be really slow if this is the best , most important conversation that can be brought up lmao
The good thing is Lance is still here so he can work past it. Way better than some past lies told - I will be the next great KU center. lol. I donāt give a damn about the North Carolina job - you canāt recover from making stuff up when you run away too. Now to see Lanceās character when caught in a lie/misunderstanding. How does he handle it? Does he accept responsibility or just ignore it and hope it goes away? What example will Lance set for those young men?

@Crimsonorblue22 So are they saying it fell out of a KU staffās pocket?
I was just stating the conjecture of what had happened based upon reading another siteās forum. No offense taken.
The Bigfoot theory just made the most sense to me.
If that is true, that coach should be canned.
šØBREAKING: Lance Leipold FIRED his assistant who was caught on a half dozen cameras planting a pocketknife on the sideline to draw a flag against Big 12 conference foe Texas Tech.
When asked for comment, Leipold didnāt sugarcoat it:
āHe got caught.ā
Concise. Cold. Coach-speak.
Please be DK McDonald
Could u c the video? Itās pretty blurry

Not seeing any evidence of a coach getting fired on any of the trustable, usual news outlets.
Maybe itās not true?
Ha. Who knows! The whole thing is crazy. That video doesnāt really show me anything. Maybe weāll have to read Lanceās memoir someday when he retires for the true story. If there is a story.
Lance wasnāt on Hawk Talk this week.
