Oct 29, 2014 11:04 PM #1

Currently not a happy camper here. Senate debate at 7 with WS joined in progress at 8. But I think Fox is streaming it so gotta go see.

Oct 29, 2014 11:11 PM #3

Yeah Fox is streaming, but, no access for Charter users. GRRRRR I may not vote for any of the 3 in the debate tonite.

Oct 29, 2014 11:13 PM #4

@JayHawkFanToo @Crimsonorblue22 Don't know yet. All I see so far is some commercial with Ellen Degeneris
over and over. May have to wait til game time.

Oct 30, 2014 12:00 AM #8

@brooksmd can't believe they would preempt the WS!

Oct 30, 2014 12:01 AM #9

@brooksmd star spangle banner was awesome!!!

Oct 30, 2014 12:05 AM #10

Well maybe the folks in New Orleans caught enough flack they decided to go with the game cause so far it's still on.

Oct 30, 2014 12:06 AM #11

@brooksmd yeah!!!!!!

Oct 30, 2014 12:07 AM #12

And I look at this way. If you don't know who you votin' for by now, well ........

Oct 30, 2014 12:19 AM #17

@Crimsonorblue22 Let's see, Kansas winters, I'm guessing a big fluffy full length terrycloth. lol

Oct 30, 2014 12:19 AM #18

@brooksmd hot too!!! Gonna have to turn ac on!!!

Oct 30, 2014 12:21 AM #19

@wissoxfan83 What's up?

Oct 30, 2014 12:21 AM #20

@brooksmd as of now, Cain. So many have stepped up!

Oct 30, 2014 12:22 AM #21

Checking in, glad your station came to its senses. I'd be screaming at some hapless operator if they preempted a WS game 7. Go Royals, and Cassidy :)

Oct 30, 2014 12:23 AM #22

@wissoxfan83 Rob Maness

Oct 30, 2014 12:25 AM #23

@brooksmd At least we agree on who we really don't want!

Oct 30, 2014 12:30 AM #24

Yeah, I'll look at the polls Sun/Mon and more than likely will go with Cassidy. At least someone who really lives in Louisiana.

Oct 30, 2014 12:32 AM #25

I know Bill Cassidy and his wife Laura. They're really nice people whom I respect a lot for what they've done for the poor in Baton Rouge.

Oct 30, 2014 12:32 AM #26

My pick for MVP = Royals

Oct 30, 2014 01:03 AM #35

Oct 30, 2014 01:06 AM #36

@globaljaybird agree!

Oct 30, 2014 01:07 AM #37

Da MOOSE could be lurking But BB could be man of the hour tonight.

Oct 30, 2014 01:18 AM #44

Brooks, you know my rants about the length of games, but I'll go to work sleepy tomorrow. I'm staying up for this one!

Oct 30, 2014 01:19 AM #45

Uecker says we got hosed

Oct 30, 2014 01:21 AM #46

Hope that dp doesn't turn out to be a game changer. Could've been a heck of an inning if it had got thru.

Oct 30, 2014 01:27 AM #49

Wiggins 1 point, 3 fouls, 2 steals, 1 ast, 1 board at the half.

Oct 30, 2014 01:27 AM #50

I am really up to here with Pence.

Oct 30, 2014 01:30 AM #51

Pence not advancing could be our dp.

Oct 30, 2014 01:30 AM #52

Gooden 15, Pierce 14 for the Wizards, Mario hasn't done much, 2 points.

Oct 30, 2014 01:32 AM #53

Marcus Thornton and Brandon Bass, both playing for the Celtics. I taught both of their siblings here in Baton Rouge. I don't have fond memories of either unfortunately.

Oct 30, 2014 01:33 AM #54

@brooksmd If the sob would ever come up with no one on Id play him chin music

Oct 30, 2014 01:34 AM #55

Cole not playing so far for the Knickerbockers. That's our KU alums update.

Oct 30, 2014 01:35 AM #56

All Herrera had to do was repeat the previous pitch but just and inch or 2 higher and he would've had Morse.

Oct 30, 2014 01:47 AM #57

Patience boys. Don't have to swing at first pitch, just need some contact.

Oct 30, 2014 01:49 AM #58

@globaljaybird Rascal have a good day?

Oct 30, 2014 01:54 AM #59

Great inning by Herrera. Now let's light up Bumgardner.

Oct 30, 2014 02:07 AM #60

@brooksmd Yeah but kinda fought the kennel when I had to go PU a tractor tire & go to market. Other than that real good. Has been snuggled on the sofa with Mom for 3 innings. Damn I wish these guys could lay off the high fastball.

Oct 30, 2014 02:08 AM #61

I think when players went to the long pants it hurt hitters. Back in the day with the shorter pants the ump had a better gauge on the knee location. That first pitch to Cain was so far out of the zone it wasn't even funny.

Oct 30, 2014 02:11 AM #62

@brooksmd LO man on again-bullshirt.

Oct 30, 2014 02:12 AM #63

Well at least we got rid of both Sandoval and Pence this time.

Oct 30, 2014 02:13 AM #64

@globaljaybird Quick as a rabbit on a date=he's gone!

Oct 30, 2014 02:14 AM #65

Oct 30, 2014 02:40 AM #78

Oct 30, 2014 02:40 AM #79

@brooksmd P'n meoff that the dish is at least 2 strikes behind the air feed

Oct 30, 2014 02:42 AM #80

@globaljaybird Takes some time for that signal to travel almost 50,000 miles not to mention process it at both ends.

Oct 30, 2014 02:44 AM #81

@brooksmd we are running out of time!

Oct 30, 2014 02:44 AM #82

@brooksmd You're right but I'm about 35-40 mi from the stadium

Oct 30, 2014 02:47 AM #83

Punch out !

Oct 30, 2014 02:47 AM #84

@globaljaybird I'm gonna have to do some investigation. I don't know if it goes straight from sat trucks at the stadium to dish sat and then to users or if it goes to dish ground station and then back up to the sat to customers.

Oct 30, 2014 02:49 AM #85

@brooksmd Fox is much slower than anyone else on dish

Oct 30, 2014 02:49 AM #86

@brooksmd Sandoval is kicking ass.

Oct 30, 2014 02:50 AM #87

Man I'd be tempted to walk Pence.

Oct 30, 2014 02:50 AM #88

@brooksmd Id be tempted to hit em.

Oct 30, 2014 02:52 AM #89

@globaljaybird Tried to vote multiple times on that one. lol +10

Oct 30, 2014 02:54 AM #90

@brooksmd Crunch time who's gonna step up?

Oct 30, 2014 02:56 AM #91

Looks like it's gotta be a rh hitter cause the lefties can't do anything with the Bum.

Oct 30, 2014 02:58 AM #92

@brooksmd Wont be Willingham for aoki. Bad non move

Oct 30, 2014 03:01 AM #93

@globaljaybird bummer! Got big sticks coming up, but....

Oct 30, 2014 03:04 AM #95

Ok, we hold'em here. Hosie comes up, steps into one and gets hbp. Billy B comes up and walk off. Simple.

Oct 30, 2014 03:05 AM #96

@Crimsonorblue22 Some one needs to take one in the keeyster for THE TEAM !! We need a baserunner like a hog needs slop !

Oct 30, 2014 03:11 AM #97

@globaljaybird OK Whiff & & a walk off brooks Here it comes

Oct 30, 2014 03:11 AM #98

Oct 30, 2014 03:11 AM #99

@globaljaybird Hows the ticker brooks?

Oct 30, 2014 03:12 AM #100

@globaljaybird Well if we don't get it done I will be able to enjoy the fact that Bum will beat Pence out for MVP.

Oct 30, 2014 03:13 AM #101

@globaljaybird Doubled up my med dose today so I'm good. lol

Oct 30, 2014 03:13 AM #102

Oct 30, 2014 03:13 AM #103

Oct 30, 2014 03:15 AM #104

Hosmer needs to step closer to the plate to either get that outside pitch...never mind.

Oct 30, 2014 03:16 AM #105

@brooksmd At least you nailed the MVP. SOB looks unbeatable right now

Oct 30, 2014 03:18 AM #106

@globaljaybird Salvy can do it again

Oct 30, 2014 03:20 AM #110

Might've stood a chance vs swinging at head high fastballs.

Oct 30, 2014 03:22 AM #111

@brooksmd Swish again brooks their plate discipline was awful. Coaches need to recognize & make adjustments for that. -10 !

Oct 30, 2014 03:23 AM #112

Well losing by one with runner at 3rd and 2 outs game 7 there was at least a chance. All you can ask for.

Oct 30, 2014 03:29 AM #113

@globaljaybird @Crimsonorblue22 @wissoxfan83 Enjoyed that past month. On to Jayhawk basketball. Just around the corner.

Oct 30, 2014 03:31 AM #114

@brooksmd On to KU hoops & title # 11 !!

Oct 30, 2014 03:33 AM #115

@brooksmd Me too guys-big time. But...........Buck still sucks !!

Oct 30, 2014 03:34 AM #116

Wish they would've sent Gordon on home... would have been close, but probably a better shot than Perez getting a hit.

ANYHOO, that was a fun month

Oct 30, 2014 03:34 AM #117

Atleast itwasn't a loss to the Cards-that's Bucks team.

Oct 30, 2014 03:34 AM #118

@Crimsonorblue22 Just read the story on Tarik making the roster. Fantastic. A good guy wins.

Oct 30, 2014 03:34 AM #119

@DanR should have sent him!!

Oct 30, 2014 03:38 AM #120

Yeah you put the pressure on the d to make a perfect throw and play at the plate. Could've bounced it off the catcher, kicked it out of the glove or any number of things. Woulda, coulda, shoulda.

Oct 30, 2014 03:39 AM #121

@DanR Me too Dan-that was the closest to a chance we had all night v Bumbutter. I'da sent his ass regardless. Make em the damn play after they're kickin the ball all around the flippin outfield-JMO I'da also PH Willimgham for Aoki in the eighth. Yost was waitin for something big to happen with small baseball. Glad I wasn't holding my breath.

Oct 30, 2014 03:49 AM #122

@brooksmd Well @brooksmd & @Crimsonorblue22 , I'm sure we'll talk again soon guys. Hats off to you & yours & thanks for sharing a fun 3 weeks of Blue October. The first we've enjoyed in 29 long & painful years. In a few weeks I'll have the fireplace roaring & be in my bathrobe too !! GN ya'll.

Oct 30, 2014 03:50 AM #123

Oct 30, 2014 04:02 AM #124

Oct 30, 2014 05:17 AM #125

Hats off to the Royals! :clap: :clap: :clap:

If you'd told me four weeks ago the Royals would be in game 7 of the WS, I would have taken it.

2014 American League Champs. No one can take that away.

Oct 30, 2014 11:19 AM #126

Until the Playoffs, I hadn't watched a single inning of Major League Baseball in 25 years.

I watched every pitch of every game since the Wild Card game.

I can't believe my heart is broken after watching a team for one month.

Thank you 2014 Kansas City Royals for renewing my interest in baseball.

Oct 30, 2014 02:19 PM #127

!collage.jpg ↗
I really think that Hosmer is Pollard's son.

Oct 30, 2014 05:30 PM #128

@nuleafjhawk I don't know what you call someone who doesn't watch a game for 25 years and then jumps on the bandwagon, because that goes way beyond fair weather fan, so I guess I'll just say welcome back to America's best sport!

Oct 30, 2014 05:36 PM #129

@wissoxfan83 got to say, a lot of people, all over, fell in love w/a great group of underdogs!!! They never quit! Can't wait til next year!! I'm not a baseball fan, but I'm a Royals fan.

Oct 30, 2014 07:10 PM #130

@wissoxfan83 I know - I thought about not even posting that, but it's the truth.

All I can say is a BUNCH of us old timers quit watching "America's best sport" 25-30 years ago. And some of them didn't watch this series either!

Funny thing is, I LOVE watching/coaching/little league and softball - I lose some of that love every time I go to a pro ballpark and wait for my credit card bill to show up. It's just obscene how much it costs to pay these players.

Well - now I remember why I didn't watch for so long...........

Oct 30, 2014 07:25 PM #131

America's best sport? Duuuuuude...what is wrong with you....:) ...(just kidding, of course)

P.S. Baseball has lost more than half its audience in the last 25 years.

Oct 30, 2014 09:10 PM #132

@JayHawkFanToo I know those are treasonous words here! Baseball is a sick sport. Bud Selig has driven it into near irrelevance. They're talking about letting FS1 televise the World Series in the future if you can believe that. But I still love it, which doesn't mean I don't love KU basketball!

Oct 30, 2014 10:03 PM #133

@globaljaybird This one's for you and Rascal. The quote that goes with it: "I swear, I'm just as baffled as you are."

Oct 30, 2014 11:01 PM #134

@brooksmd Oh my !! Heaven forbid brooks !! But that's surely what they do. Once Woodrow absolutely shredded a very large doggie bed full of cedar shavings & was eerily reminiscent of that pic. Also a very expensive comforter, maybe even the same week. His mother Roxy once decimated a large hand sewn door stop of a mother goose full of sand & basically said the exact same thing-Im so sorry BUT....They just sit there with perfect posture & look at you with those sorrowful eyes like they know perfectly well what they did was wrong but just couldn't help completely destroying something anyway. They're just so damn lovable & cute & regretful you can't help but give em a pass. Hard to believe I'm willing to go thru this again as Rascal's just a yearling, but our hearts were so hurt since losing Woodrow we dearly wanted to give an abandoned boxer a loving home. No doubt Rascal could as easily be named lucky. Thanks for the pic brooks-kinda puts it all in perspective. How many do you have now? Four?

Oct 30, 2014 11:57 PM #135

@globaljaybird Three. The doxie, shiz zou and Mikey whatever he is. Except of course when we babysit our son's pit. Yeah it's hard to be mad at'em when they give you that look. BTW, I found this while on the net today. Grab your box of Kleenex.

It came to me that every time I lose a dog they take a piece of my heart with them. And every new dog who comes into my life, gifts me with a piece of their heart. If I live long enough, all the components of my heart will be dog, and I will become as generous and loving as they are.

Oct 31, 2014 12:03 AM #136

@brooksmd I love it. What's his name? He sure had some fun!

Oct 31, 2014 01:02 AM #137

@Crimsonorblue22 Don't know the name. It's just something somebody posted on the net. There were several different ones but I grabbed that one cause the villian is a boxer.

Oct 31, 2014 01:17 AM #138

@globaljaybird @Crimsonorblue22 Okay, here are the other innocents until proven guilty. Enjoy.

Today's news
Editorial: Royal run
They didn’t win the World Series, but they certainly won over some new fans.

We knew that Lawrence was full of Kansas University basketball fans, but it wasn’t until the last month that it became apparent how many local residents also were Royals baseball fans.

An exciting post-season run has a way of bringing out the Royal blue, which bears a striking resemblance to KU blue.

A number of local events were canceled or rescheduled to avoid a conflict with the World Series games. At least some events that went forward were marked by audience members sneaking peaks at their cell phones to get an update on the games. Royals fans aren’t used to having to plan their schedules around the World Series, but this year was a delightful exception.

The Royals stretched their season to the limit. The fact that they came up a little short in their last game doesn’t diminish the surprising run of this young, talented team.

Congratulations to the Royals. You’ve certainly found some new fans in Lawrence.

@Crimsonorblue22 Thanks for the story. Of course in California opposing fans are happy to get out of the stadium without getting the crap beat out of them. Reminds me of the network broadcasting team talking about the Royals players who while in Baltimore during pre-game played catch with kids in the stands. Think that didn't make an impression on some young fans? Warms your heart thinking about it. [link text](
