@Crimsonorblue22 I hope Bill's saved up an extra large jar of whoopass for Greg the chickenhawk stalker. That level of jealousy makes him an exceptionally great candidate to have it coming.

Thanks for starting the game thread, but I was really looking forward to @wrwlumpy's excellent discussion starters on opposing universities! I've never been to WSU, which I've never really expected to be missing much to be honest, but I always enjoy his posts.

And yes, beat the tar out of em Sunday!

A lot of us seem to be worried. Previously it seemed like a lot of pundits were predicting that we would lose if we play WSU.
We may lose, but......I feel like we should match up with them. They are not that tall, so Perry should be able to score on them (although he still is not 100%). They can shoot the 3 with Baker and VanVleet. I worry about VanVleet getting into the lane.
I would think Oubre will be a matchup problem for them.
We appear to be considerably deeper than they are.
Shouldn't we be able to beat them?

@Hawk8086 YES. If KU hits on all cylinders or even 5 of 6 or 7 of 8 like today, they'll win going away.

@Hawk8086 seriously? Did you see WSU play? They barely beat Iu, who didn't even think they would make the tournament. Don't know the stats but Iu is one of the worst defensive teams too. So, shake it off and get back in the game!💙❤️🏀 Rock Chalk!!

@Hawk8086 Didn't several people around here proclaim we would get beat by New Mexico State as well? I believe in KU, and I think many of our fans wringing their hands with worry are going to be thrilled how well we do.

@Crimsonorblue22 You are correct. Defense has been IUs weakness. They do have a good offense......better than ours when they are on.
I feel like we should beat them when I look at the individual players.

@VailHawk I believe KU is tougher than WSU. WSU claims to be tough and play angry. I think the Shockers will be shocked at how tough KU is.

I think that WSU is going to play with more pressure than KU. Their fan base and their coach are both building this up to be the game of the century. That pressure will not help WSU in any way and from what I saw against Indiana yesterday they don't play great D and looked a bit tight.

I expect a 10-15 point KU victory. We are better or equal at every position. I know Van Vleet had a huge game and is a great player but Frank is a beast and I don't see Devonte letting him carve up KU like he did Indiana.

I love this matchup for us and our guys should relish the opportunity to beat another good team on their run to a rematch with the evil empire.

If the officials let WSU mug us like they did Indiana they will be much tougher to beat.

I think you're exactly right, Joe. I'm about as pessimistic of a KU fan as there is, and I think KU fans should have plenty of confidence about this one. Watching the WSU-IU game yesterday, one thing that the broadcasters kept saying was that this was the first top-tier team in terms of athleticism WSU has seen since December. They looked gassed. They looked tired. And an average Big 10 team that snuck into the tournament did that to them.

I don't know about the pressure argument. Because WSU could come out jacked for this game and make a bunch of circus shots. They could also go 2-16 from 3 and get blown out. I will say this, I don't see Van Vleet getting 27 against us. If we can shoot the ball the way we did yesterday, I think we win this game. The thing that gets overlooked about our shooting slump is, forget three pointers, we couldn't make jump shots period. We finally got that lid off the basket yesterday.

I'm confident going into this one. Let's remind WSU what their place in basketball really is. Rock Chalk Jayhawk!
