The Big 12 SEC challenge game hasn't been announced yet. It'll probably be Florida to get the most eyeballs, but I'd like to see KU play South Carolina (if SC is as good as they were this season).

Mar 30, 2017 02:07 PM #3

Could they try to make us play Mizzo? With Porter and the old boarder war it could be huge for ratings. I don't know but maybe KU has to approve it for it to happen.

Mar 30, 2017 02:09 PM #4

@CaptnMo I guess they could. It seems most of those sec/Big12 games have been home and home. KU will play at home this year, but I don't want to see them have to go to MU next year and fill their place.

Mar 30, 2017 02:25 PM #5

@CaptnMo I doubt we will play Mizzou. We would complain too loudly........plus, even with Porter it would not be a good enough matchup. Have to imagine if will be either UF or SC.

Mar 30, 2017 02:34 PM #6

@Hawk8086

Didn't you hear? Porter indicated his goal is to win a National Title with MU. ๐Ÿ˜ด

Mar 30, 2017 02:44 PM #7

@JayHawkFanToo shouldn't his first goal be to get them out of the cellar of the SEC?
Maybe working his way up to competing for a conference title?

Will be a cold day in He!! When MU wins a National title.

Mar 30, 2017 02:59 PM #8

When you asked about Missouri and the final four google would return did you mean Kansas Final Fours? It has since been changed. Cracked me up though.

Mar 30, 2017 03:00 PM #9

@JayHawkFanToo

LOL

Mar 30, 2017 03:17 PM #10

Porter seems to be the selfish type of player that is so full of himself that reality does not matter. The fact that he wants to take the number of a player that has been a two year starter and he is yet to play a single game tells me that he is only interested in what is in it for him and not the team and likely a locker room cancer...good fit at MU.

Mar 30, 2017 03:21 PM #11

@JayHawkFanToo

Porter and Young are both black holes.

Mar 30, 2017 03:25 PM #12

@BShark young did have 5 assists. Porter none. Porter will be fun to play w/๐Ÿ•ณ! Josh did get Tyler's #.

Mar 30, 2017 03:27 PM #13

@Crimsonorblue22

Young will drive Kruger mad at times. Still would have loved to have him at KU but if Graham's heat checks bother anyone, well those people can be glad Young is at OU.

Mar 30, 2017 03:29 PM #14

@BShark young would have benefited from hudy. He was very hesitant to go in amongst any size. Reminded me of cf.

Mar 30, 2017 03:34 PM #15

@Crimsonorblue22

You are not the first to draw that comparison. It might have been a rough first year for him at KU.

Mar 30, 2017 03:35 PM #16

@BShark

The honeymoon at MU will not last long if they do not become competitive in conference games early and often. The last few years have been the worst stretch for the program that I can remember. MU has gone way out on a limb with whom I consider an average coach at best and I am sure the school, boosters and fans are expecting a quick turnaround and there is going to be a huge backlash if it does not happen...soon...

Mar 30, 2017 03:38 PM #17

@JayHawkFanToo

I could see this being Ben Simmons II.

Mar 30, 2017 03:41 PM #18

Do they have any players to go w/porter? I ignore mizzou except to see the empty gym pics๐Ÿ‘€

Mar 30, 2017 04:13 PM #19

@Crimsonorblue22

Quite a bit different. Jackson always wore number 11 and when he came to KU he talked to Tyler who voluntarily gave him the number. " target="_blank" rel="noopener">http://m.kusports.com/weblogs/tale-tait/2016/aug/29/why-ku-freshman-josh-jackson-wears-no-11/?templates=mobile) โ†—

Porter, on the other hand, wore #1 in HS and now wants a different number and one that has been used by a two year starter and challenged him to play one on one for the number. Highly disrespectful in my opinion.

Sometimes is not what you do but how you do it. Jackson did it the right way and Porter the wrong way, in my opinion.

Mar 30, 2017 04:17 PM #20

@Crimsonorblue22

Apparently he was talking to the uncommitted players at the McDonalds All American game about coming to MU.

Mar 30, 2017 04:18 PM #21

@BShark

...or Markellev Fultz...

Mar 30, 2017 04:20 PM #22

@dylans No guarantees KU plays at home. In the Florida series, KU went to Gainesville then hosted and followed up by hosting UK and then going to Rupp. It probably will be Florida again, but SoCar could be a possibility as well, but it's not a guarantee the game is in Lawrence this upcoming season.

Mar 30, 2017 04:21 PM #23

@Crimsonorblue22

No, there was some talk some guys would follow Porter but I don't think that's happening. Tilmon is sticking at Illinois which was the guy some people thought could follow. Missouri is going to be terrible again even with a talent such as Porter who'll put up video game numbers every night.

Mar 30, 2017 04:22 PM #24

@Crimsonorblue22 Tyler also used a different number every season, so it's not like he was overly attached to a number.

Mar 30, 2017 04:25 PM #25

@JayHawkFanToo Porter's dad will also be on the bench this year. I'll be curious to see if he sticks around after this year.

Mar 30, 2017 04:26 PM #26

@Texas-Hawk-10 I think he gave it up for another player too, right?

Mar 30, 2017 04:26 PM #27

Nebraska's starting PF just transferred. Can't see them giving us a game next year..

Mar 30, 2017 04:26 PM #28

@JayHawkFanToo

Do we know if Fultz quit going to class? It's a big part of "Simmonsing". :grinning:

Mar 30, 2017 04:27 PM #29

@Texas-Hawk-10 finish off the rest of the kids? Thought he signed a 3 year contract.

Wow...

I bet they will be worse than some of the mid-majors KU plays.

Mar 30, 2017 04:28 PM #31

@BShark

Maybe going to school was better then playing for UW this year:smiley:

Mar 30, 2017 04:28 PM #32

@BShark

Leading scorer is gone as well, he graduated. It's not like Nebraska cares about Basketball anyway

Mar 30, 2017 04:29 PM #33

@BeddieKU23

Nebraska fans don't even know what a basketball is.

Mar 30, 2017 04:31 PM #34

@Crimsonorblue22 I don't know if he did or not. I believe Tyler wore 5 his first year, 10 his second, then 11, and then 20. If Tyler gave up a number previously. I think he may have given up the #10 for Svi because that's the only other number a scholarship player at KU wore while Tyler was here.

Mar 30, 2017 04:32 PM #35

@Texas-Hawk-10 tornado yesterday?

Mar 30, 2017 04:34 PM #36

@Crimsonorblue22 Not in my part of Houston thankfully because we were doing standardized testing the past two days and weren't allowed to have phones on us or turn computers on. I was completely oblivious to how bad it was other than being told to have a flashlight in case power went out which happens regularly at my school.

Mar 30, 2017 04:37 PM #37

@Texas-Hawk-10 it's that time of year! Glad all is well

Mar 30, 2017 04:45 PM #38

@Texas-Hawk-10

Michael Porter said he might consider staying a second year to play with his brother...and pass the big money? I seriously doub it.

Mar 30, 2017 04:48 PM #39

@JayHawkFanToo

No way...

Mar 30, 2017 04:54 PM #40

@BShark

Sounds like Markelle is a good student... โ†—

I thought Porter was a basketball player, not a stand-up comedian. Or an idiot.....

Not the school (University of ...), but Nebraskans in Omaha love Creighton! Had many conversations with Omahans about bb when my mom lived there. Many were U of N fb fans, and liked having Creighton local for bb.

Mar 30, 2017 06:55 PM #43

@nuleafjhawk

Probably all of the above...:smiley:

Mar 30, 2017 07:14 PM #44

@mayjay

Definitely Creighton is putting out a good product right now.

Mar 30, 2017 09:45 PM #45

@JayHawkFanToo Nothing wrong with a kid who's still in HS dreaming big in my opinion! But I did just read what you said about him taking someone's number, so that's not too cool.

Mar 30, 2017 10:05 PM #46

@wissox

Indeed. I wonder what would happen if the staff allows the player that currently has the number to play him one on one, beats him and then he asks to transfer (I would)...zero upside on the entire situation. My guess is that it will be handled quietly behind the scenes but one of them is not going to be happy. I just don't get why Porter had to make it public,,,I can see why coached hate Twitter,

Probably a darned good thing Tyler didn't get all the awards FM is getting this year or we might have to expand AFH to hang all those retired jerseys.
