This isn't being covered very well by the media (shockingly). Basically he quit basketball to be in a gang and was in the hospital recently.

Very sad and very frustrating at the same time, this coming from me. A guy that had to work his ass off just to be decent at basketball in high school. I'll pray for this young man to find the path to righteousness.

@kjayhawks Well he was diagnosed with a mental illness. We don't know the full extent but that's chemical stuff in the brain. He can fight to try and better himself but that is always there. I speak from personal experience.

Hope the kid gets well. I was hoping he’d get out of Chicago. But at this point, hopefully he gets to CSU and they can build a support system around him to help him start the process.

Update: Looks like he might be turning his life around. He's been playing and playing well lately. Will being attending Chicago State which is in the WAC. He has had a bunch of 40+ point games this season including three in a row.

Don't know anything about him but I kind of hope he gets out of Chicago. If he's tempted by gang life CSU isn't the place for him. It's right in the middle of the south side where he lives currently.

Taking a prep school year instead now.
