Joel is a badass. The block, kept it in bounds, basically a pass half court to Simmons. Ran like a guard down the court!! Simmons passes once and Joel Jams it in the defenses behind! DAMM!

And, did you notice who was under the bucket after Joel's throwdown?

Oubre.

It’s been a while since a center stepped in the L and manhandled people. Ain’t it Grand!

Small ball, meet Joel Embiid.

Dec 01, 2017 04:21 AM #5

@Lulufulu No I missed that! Kelly's been playing pretty well. Looks like he's got a decent future. Prolly not an all star, but a solid bench player, maybe a starting role someday.

Dec 01, 2017 03:23 PM #6

Good lord he's something else. Hope he's rewarded around All-Star time

@BeddieKU23

Embiid is the prototype of the new big...strong, agile, fast and can hit from outside.

41 points, 13 rebounds tonight, four blocks too. The man is becoming a machine. I know I ripped him the other day, but wow, just wow! Averaging 27 a game and 12 boards. By the way his triple double machine teammate Ben Simmons had one the other day with points, boards and turnovers!

@wissox Kawhi made Simmons look like really bad ball player. We all knew Ben can’t shoot, Kawhi wouldn’t even let him dribble. Wow, I forgot how good Kawhi is. Amazing

When healthy, one of the best five players on the planet.

@dylans Interesting. That doesn't diminish Simmons skills either. Simmons is an amazing player who will probably become the next person to average a triple double in a season.

Nov 02, 2018 03:24 PM #16

@wissox In all fairness LeBron did let a MFer fly when he saw Kwahi checking back into a playoff game. That’s one heck of a defender.

Good stuff here ↗ on KU players in the NBA; you might need to sign in to Twitter...

Nov 08, 2018 07:08 PM #18

@JayHawkFanToo I still haven't made a twitter yet

Nov 08, 2018 08:02 PM #19

@kjayhawks

I had to open an account for one of my business that requires social media but I don't believe I have ever posted there; I just get a daily summary of tweets from groups I indicated on my profile I like, mostly KU stuff.

Sixes just traded for Jimmy Butler

Nov 10, 2018 06:35 PM #21

Not sure if I like this trade for Philly.

Nov 10, 2018 06:36 PM #22

He's a cancer

@BShark no

Nov 10, 2018 06:38 PM #26

@Woodrow

I wonder how he will fit with Embiid and Simmons. Covington and Saric are solid starters, Bayless has not played this season, has a high $ contract and will likely be waived. Patton has not played either and might also be a potential waive. Sixers traded its starting PF and SF for a SG; maybe they will play 4 out 1 in.

But I was told he is a cancer. Definitely didn't hard carry KU to a FF last year.

Nov 10, 2018 06:45 PM #28

@BShark LMAO...

Nov 10, 2018 06:46 PM #29

@Crimsonorblue22 @jayballer73

One man’s ceiling is another man’s floor or perhaps more applicable in this situation...one team’s cancer is another team’s treasure. Remember, Tarik Black was considered a cancer at Memphis and yet he was great at KU. Butler is an alpha dog and going to a team with 2 other alpha dogs in Embiid and Simmons and maybe a third one in Redick; it will interesting how the chemistry works out.

Nov 10, 2018 07:53 PM #30

I don't think it's a bad trade for Philly, Butler is still a good player when he's motivated. And I think he'll fit in okay personality-wise with the Sixers.

My issue with this is if I'm Philly I'd rather trade Fultz than Saric. But from a Minnesota standpoint I'm happy to get Saric. Covington is also a good player, especially defensively. And he can shoots 3's. Great trade for Minny.

Nov 10, 2018 07:54 PM #31

If Butler clashes with anyone I think it will be Simmons for not working on his jump shot. Embiid works his tail off.

@BShark

No 3 point shots in Wilt’s era and I am not sure they kept block stats either but I would like to see how his stats compare to Embiid.

Nov 10, 2018 08:29 PM #34

They didn't keep block stats. Suffice it to say Wilt had plenty. So did Russell.

Nov 11, 2018 06:43 PM #35

A ton of people have said Wilt would most likely be the NBAs all time leader in blocks had it been kept as a stat in his time. Sportscasters claim several games he had at least 20. Joel is special, go back to some of my posts from 2015 talking about how I’ve only seen 2 or 3 7 footers move like that.

Nov 11, 2018 06:49 PM #36

@kjayhawks Yeah, Joel is amazing. I went to the first game that year with the intentions of being blown away by Wiggins. Instead I couldn’t take my eyes off of Embiid. He is truly a transcendent talent if some guy like me can see it from day one!
