Saturday- @ Baylor- Winners of 4 straight, lost by 3 in Lubbock in the first meeting

Wednesday- @ Oklahoma St- Lost by 5 in Lubbock in the first meeting, hit or miss team

Saturday- vs KU

Monday- @ West Virginia

KU's Schedule-

Saturday vs West Virgnia- Gameday in town

Monday vs Oklahoma

Saturday @ Texas Tech- #14 crowned that night?

Monday vs Texas- Senior Night

So they have 3 road games and us 1...would normally say great, but this year - home games almost more of a struggle for us.

@BeddieKU23 You're missing a few games. KU's last game is at OK State and TTech's last game is at home against TCU. Tech's remaining schedule is easier then ours in my opinion.

I deliberately left out the last games of the year. I think #14 is decided within the next 4 IMO.

Tech has 3 road games and plays KU at home. I think KU's slate is easier in that regard, 3 of the next at home.

The Tech game is going to be something if all the stars align. Tech unbeaten at home this year, KU 5-2 on the road in conference (9-3 overall away from Allen).

We'll see what happens this weekend and during the weekdays games before we get looking to next weekend too much

Hopefully that's put to rest the next two games. Fieldhouse should be electric Saturday

Fieldhouse better be rocking Sat! My son will be part of the group playing Natl Anthem & we’re pumped for him. Our 1st home game to attend this year! Couldn’t have picked a better time for our annual, hair raising experience!
I love the unknowns & underdog role this team seems to be managing. I believe one of Bill’s Best coaching seasons. Thin bench, tired starters, etc but let’s give credit where it’s due. Our bigs have IMPROVED dramatically thru the season. Both Doke & Mitch. Dosousa has such potential & Bill said it would be late Feb before he could help.
Not a typical year Jayhawk faithful but man it’s been fun. Getting better as season progresses is better than peaking early. Now, no injuries & let’s enjoy the ride. Need some Fieldhouse magic this week! Rock Chalk.

KU can still control their own destiny. Win out, they get #14. Lose any game other than Tech, and it's likely they still get #14 because I don't see Tech not losing at least one of those road games.

Congrats to Tech of all schools for making us sweat profusely worrying about our conference title.

@wissox if it has to be ended at least it’s not to OU, OsU, Texas, Kansas State or Iowa State.

It is NOW that we must step up and be Kansas! We are used to controlling our own destiny. There is no reason why we shouldn't win-out.

It's time to make a statement in 2018 to the rest of the league, which sees us as vulnerable and anxious to knock us off... FORGET IT! We've been here before... 13 in a row... and we know what we have to do.

Our goal is in sight!

believe it or not - - I know we kind of missed so freebies in the end , but believe it or not I actually saw some signs of life last night, some regrouping possibly.

Like maybe some players coming out of their funk , nothing huge- but some steps of positivity anyways - -such as Vick having a decent game Malik playing better, man what I'd give to have all 5 of our guys playing on all cylinders at the same time - would be lethal again like they were earlier in the year.

Last night it was Vick - - Newman - -& Doke -with Graham and SVI having bad games -- previously it was Graham hitting and some others struggling

I think we still have a shot - - not going to be easy, Tech is really good not just a one or two man team they are complete for sure, but it can be done. We just have to take care of business WV HUGE - - Oklahoma HUGE both in the phog we just can not afford anymore home losses. We can't afford any more losses period. We are going to have to win out, - it can be done. -- -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

We might be able to lose one more game...but not to Tech. I think there is a decent chance they lose one of their other road games. But Tech looks like a must win......

One of the losses would be to KU., so one other loss in addition to KU.

Tech could easily lose to Baylor and Oklahoma St on the road. Baylor lost by 3 to them in Lubbock, Oklahoma St lost by 5. Both get the return trip now and have a chance to knock off the top team in the conference. If Tech had beaten them handily I think predicting an upset would be a bigger stretch but we are talking 1-2 possession games here. I think the way Baylor is playing recently gives them a slight edge of the two likely to upset them. But OSU has big wins (lately on the road) and sometimes Gallagher Iba brings out the worst in teams (usually KU).. It's not a stretch of any imagination to think Tech could lose the next two. That would put next Saturday's and Monday's games in a much bigger light.

@wissox They lose to us and one more. We can only lose one more time....but have to beat Tech. In this scenario we both have 5 losses.

@BeddieKU23 I am worried about a scenario where we need to win at OSU to tie for the conference.........but, of course, let's get to that point first........

I think they could lose at both BU/OSU. If not both, hopefully one. I hope KU shows up in Lubbock. Let's see if Huggy can neutralize them in Motown.

Meanwhile Nova and Clemson lose to unranked teams. I'm sure nova fans might be starting to worry just a little bit. I know the injury bug has started to take it's toll on them

Kentucky loss #9 as well to a good Auburn team and now have lost 4 straight. Kentucky is in danger of missing the tournament. Two more road games they could lose + a SEC tourney loss would likely put them around a 20-21-12 team on Selection Sunday

Nova lost to Providence who was blown out at home 4 days earlier by Depaul.

Kamau Stokes back playing for K-St. Didn't realize he's been back for 4 games now.

@Blown I agree. I find that amusing. Tech like TCU are less obnoxious. Even as much as I hate WVU getting away with constant fouling, would find that less egregious. Strange respect, I guess.

I think they ultimately stay a #1 seed. I think they beat Xavier IMO. But that's definitely a game they could drop..

Not a lot of deserving #1 seeds.

Heh, I haven't checked since after their loss to KU.

This year shows the weakness in Cal's plan though. When there is a weaker recruiting class (overall talent perspective, not in terms of UK not having a huge class because they always do) he is going to suffer.

His 17 class was almost nothing but 5 stars...but it was a down class. 18 is too, tbh. Looks like UK is avoiding a big class this year and will actually not have too many FR next year.

Certainly doesn't help that they returned only 2 guys who even played last year. And both of them weren't exactly expected to be stars. Usually 1-2 guys return that actually have some experience. Watched them recently, they don't have enough defined position players. A lot of athletes without a ton of skill

This isn't one of those squads. A lot of guys that are a year away still from what I saw of them just last week.

My guess would be 3-2 but I'd love to see them flame out and go like 1-4. XD

Crazy year indeed. KSU goes on the road and beats OSU handily and is now in 4th place; hopefully it will give OSU an incentive to beat TTU in return. :smile: The top 6 teams in the conference are exactly 1 game behind the team above.

UK has a lot of raw talent but they are short in experience and appear to be deficient in basketball IQ as well. Would not surprise me if they don’t make it to the dance.

Another interesting tidbit. UConn, the team with whom some member indicated they would trade records, has become largely irrelevant ↗, missing the tournament regularly and getting ready to fire the coach. In comparison, KU is a text book example of excellence and...no how, no way, no ma’am...I trade records with them, tournament titles notwithstanding.

Tough few seasons for UConn. Some big injuries to some starters, recruiting misses especially in the post. Definitely not keeping up with the women's team

I think KSU will end up 11-7 in league.

I know some posters really dislike Weber and I am not a fan of his particularly, but I have to admit that he does maximize the talent he has at hand. If he could only recruit, keep players, get a new personality...and a new voice he would be great.

Hard to keep up with the women’s basketball program at UConn, it is arguably the best and most consistent program in all college sports. The men’s program, on the other hand, is like a yo-yo, briefly way up and then way down for long periods of time.

OSU is like a bi-polar program, either plays great or plays poorly; KU caught them on the wrong cycle. :disappointed:

KU wins, Tech loses. Tied with 4 to go.

Tonight KU can put its leg in front with a home win vs OU. Collins having his jersey retired should make for another electric night in the fieldhouse.

Wednesday Tech goes to OSU. OSU coming off a loss as well. Evans has a toe injury and Tech is awaiting x-ray results. They will announce the injury results today at 2pm, when Beard is available to speak. Potentially crushing news.

Gameday in Tech on Saturday. B2B for KU..
