Looks like they are actually finally merging 247 with the Phog and will have some random hack writer. Should be more fluff pieces though.

@BShark I wish I was sad to see him go. But he really didn't provide much new information. Any that he had he was too scared to say.

He just wasn't ready to try and turn it into a full blown job. And tbf he has a real full time job.

@BShark I mean it is what it is. I was about 99% sure I was going to drop before, and now we literally don't have anyone even trying to be an insider. I don't know what would make it worth paying for.

@Kcmatt7 Kind of unreal given that every other blue blood and even schools like Maryland have good insider coverage. Shay is a hack, obviously.

I'll see what if anything Scott does, as well as be sure to be on forums with Ryan Noel and @FarmerJayhawk since those guys know their stuff. Though I know Ryan has stated before some of his info is 2nd hand from Scott.

The original Shiver website was awesome. I really thought Matt did a great job there and there was some good posters. When he went to 247 it started going downhill and the last few months have been awful.

I actually just got off the phone with 247 cancelling my membership.

I’ll miss The Shiver too. Hopefully Matt pops up somewhere. I’ve been a member for nearly a decade and sad to see it go. But I’ll keep posting at the new site, though not sure which handle I’ll have. I’ll try to stay KAbbott over there.

Someone official finally posted something about it.

"Let me take a few minutes to address the future of this site. Matt Scott and TheShiver are no longer part of the 247Sport network. It was a mutual separation this past week and we will be announcing a new full-time hire next week. This individual will be covering Kansas basketball, football and recruiting for the site. We appreciate what Matt has done on this site since joining us and wish him the best in the future. "

"In the very near future, we will be merging both the 247Sports site and Scout site into one and we will provide details prior to this transition. We're excited about the future of the site with our new writer plus the regular contributions you see from Kevin Flaherty."

Matt Scott said on Twitter that he is going to plan on starting another site a person asked him

Not sure what kind of experience you had but Scott Chasen has been nothing but a good person when I have talked to him. He already successfully moved into another job which is why he left 247.
