Signs are everywhere.

It's that time of the season β†—

As we ahead into the summer season, it's time for Americans all across this great country to clean out the house, garage, and attic. It's garage and Yard sale time.

We have all seen the signs. On light poles, telephone poles, and even some in there own bracket.

It was brought to my attention here where I live, that there are actually laws on how to display a Garage/Yard sale sign. What was even more shocking to me that the local government actually has persons on the payroll that go out and pull down signs that are illegally displayed. Think about that for a second. The local Government uses taxes paid from legal citizens to pay persons to tear down signs displayed by those that pay those taxes

I'm not sure where I'm going with this? Just thought it might be an intersting topic.

Then they have a garage sale to get rid of all the torn down garage sale signs. I wonder how they advertise for it ???

Government has become too big and way too intrusive. Kids cannot even have a lemonade stand without a permit...give me a break.

@DoubleDD Unfortunately, people don't do it themselves and then they fall apart and trash up the yards of people who live nearby. We were taking ours down in a yard where we had asked the guy for permission the day before, and he told us we were the first to ever ask or clean up.

We used to live in a place with a strict HOA that would fine people for leaving them up as a littering violation. The only good rule they enforced, but still not worth having the little dictators running our lives.

@mayjay

Sooner or later a national association of HOAs will form and then be appropriated by a Philangist Deep State and every one will have to do some new salute to get past brown shirts in the booths to the gated communities.

Remember once the wealth has been appropriated from the middle class, the next step is to appropriate it from the upper class that was given the middle class’ wealth.

It plays out again and again. πŸ˜€

I had a garage sale once, never again! Had a table of items for .50 cents. People would ask me if I would take a dime. I finally said if you can't pay 50 cents you can just have it free. Goodwill is a fabulous organization! People steal at garage sales. They are mean!

@Crimsonorblue22 We have had exceptional success--literally over $19,000 in a total of 6. (Most was in one where we sold three bedrm sets and a formal DR set with huge china cabinet.)

We had lots of stuff to downsize as we went from 5100 sq ft to 1600 ft over 12 years, plus all of my mother's crap when I moved her here. Having friends help is huge--I once gave a couple of helpers a box of my liquor when we left the house that had a great basement bar.

@Barney No, but we would have if we had had to declare the barter transaction! (Does anyone report barter income??)

I ran into Jaybate's garage sale today. :grinning:

An old guy with loads of conspiracy, deep state etc.. books. Many were filled with "uncensored eye witness accounts".
