Yep, Kansas has always done this for the most part since Self has been here. Most years we have the most Quadrant 1 wins (even if you use the formula before they did) and have played the most teams in the tournament.

I beg to differ: on this one,

Larry Keating BITB

Keating has been a non-conference RPI wizard all the time Self has been our coach. I remember a journalist writing about KU "feasting on decent mid-majors".

Keating was Senior Associate Athletics Director until July, 2011 and basically retired, but was asked to keep scheduling basketball and football games.

Just glad he's not Ted Bundy.

@BShark I remember a Tucky fan caterwauling because we got a 2 seed with 9 losses back in the Wigs year( 2013-14), and I simply told him it's the schedule. That was the year we played the toughest schedule in college basketball in the last 20 years. I think that is the main reason we've lost to lower seeds in the past- our schedule elevates us to perhaps a higher seed than the eye test. As much as it pains me to say it, the year we lost to the Shlockers they were simply better than us. Not this year.

@BShark Wouldn't that be rich? Hell, I'd buy Marsha's wife her first drink.

It better be early in the day.

@KUSTEVE We were overseeded both years we lost to WSU and Stanford. Realistically, that should've still been a second round match up, but probably as a 4/5 game instead of a 2/7 game.

@BShark

The perfect storm at Wichita appears to be over. It got them to a better conference but now it is back to a long spell of being just another team.
