Mercy. - I'm to old for this lol. - - Heard my Pitbull going off in my back yard just about an hour ago. - He was in his dog run - luckily. So he was going off , so I went to the back to see what was going on - -he was staring straight towards the front of my house ok so - - -I came back to the front of my house , here alone opened the door stepped out and BAM

Here comes this Police officer walking across my neighbors drive , no biggie I thought ok he coming to talk to me ask me for possible information possibly , so I being casual said hey how ya doing - -he says hey , the very next thing I know he is drawing his service revolver pullin down and aiming it right in my back yard - - I thought holy shit , then about that time I hear another officer coming running from the opposite side of my house and he yelling you better stop right now - -drop - -you better drop - I thought jumpin - -gee - -hossa - -fats - so I look and he runs up just on the other side of my truck pulls his cuffs out - -bout that time here comes 3 other police cars stopping in front of my house - kid stands up they said he was 17 yrs old white kid had a back pack - cuff and stuff. - -An officer told me to stay aware that there could be another one still in the area

Come to find out they was running for being in a stolen vehicle that they had used in an armed robbery last night. - -DAMMM - they said there were 5 kids total not sure where the others were but way to much excitement to close for this old man lol. - -I decided it was time to go back inside lock the door and come to KU Buckets lmao. - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

@jayballer73 I was crossing a street with friends in downtown Chicago in 1979 when a guy went running by us and three cops jumped into the crosswalk facing me with their revolvers facing right in my direction. Almost needed an underwear change, but 2 seconds later we realized we had walked by some barricades right into the middle of a crew filming a police movie or tv show. We heard someone say, "Shit!" and scurried out of there fast.

Thankfully you and your dog are ok. I had a friend in similar situation a few years ago where the cops chased a suspect thru his back yard and they shot his dog, which killed it. He tried to fight them in court but let’s face it, you can’t win that battle unless you have hard video evidence and even that isn’t enough in most cases. Not to sound ani police, I believe each situation is different but nonetheless not a fun day I’m sure.

@kjayhawks ya I understand about the dog. - -My Neighbor had a little of the same type situation where the police was after a guy and needed to go in his back yard - well he had a Pres-Kanard - -big dog but this dog wouldn't hurt a flea. - Well they had their K-9 out and our neighbors dog was excited just wanting to play with the K-9 - it didn't know any better wasn't going to hurt anyone - -well he cleared the fence and came towards the Police officer so he drew his gun and my wife seen this and hollered at the police telling them not to shoot him because he was just wanting to play with the dog. - Yet the officer said maam and motioned for her to get back inside and then promptly shot the dog. = =luckily didn't kill him - my wife and the neighbor took his dog to the vet -but thought about just wha you said trying to fight them in court but didn't. -This dam officer fired 3 shots. - 1 hit the dog and the other 2 hit another Neighbors house and just missed a lady working out in a room in their house by inches. - Really crazy - it was a very exciting tiring afternoon here lots of excitement. - -ROCK CHALK AL DAY LONG BABY

LOL - no all of this wasn't in the same day - but wouldn't surprise me if that did happen. - My neighbors dog getting shot was like a couple of years ago. But them arresting the kid in my drive did happen yesterday. - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Gerald was this the Topeka PD? My nephew, a detective with the Topeka PD found no report. It may not of been filed yet or it could of been a different agency.

Ya this was the Topeka PD. - -now I hope no one is thinking the wrong way. They by far did nothing wrong to me. - It is that it just surprised me when I stepped out and the officers were coming towards the house. - -They weren't after me - -but the kid hiding by our truck. - Was told that this kid was one of multiple they had been looking for - -dealing with a stolen car and armed robbery. - Read of a group later that two juveniles had been taken into custody and was being turned over to detectives. - -Again they did nothing wrong at all. - The one officer was very very polite- -told me to just be aware that at that time there might still be one in the area.- from my understanding there was a group of 5 individuals in the car from the night before.
This had happened the day before yesterday - -but then yesterday they seen the car with two of the individuals in it. - -At first I guess they spotted them and a foot pursuit started some blocks away at a park in our neighborhood - -and the one ended up here in my drive. - - I thanked the officer from keeping us protected from these kids/guys.

As far as my neighbors dog getting shot - -now that was a separate incidence . - That happen like 4 years back - as far my dog yesterday - nothing happened to him - -he was just going off letting me know something was going on - -it's all ok - they were doing their job - just surprised me when it happened - thought WHOAAAAAA lol

At first I thought you were telling the same story of a friend who lives near Lawrence. Several nights ago a chase ended up in her mom's soybean field, near Eudora I think.

Ya? - No sorry to say I don't live in the really best of area's of Topeka but because of financial situation not really a lot I can do, pretty limited when your living of Social Security disability - -as a result of three back surgeries and three and counting knee surgeries ya know? - then on top of the limited situation they are STILL taking Child support on my youngest boy which happens now to be 25 yrs old - but that's a WHOLE different story - -don't mean to get side tracked - my only thing is - -for any younger guys out there if you happen to have to go through a divorce - - you have kids - -just make DAM sure you pay directly through the court - please be smart.

But no this was in Topeka on the South East side - - known as the Dirty South . That's where all this took place. then last night about `10:00 p.m. we were sittin outside with friends and heard a some police talking over a PA it was a standoff situation about a block - maybe a block and a half away from the house - things getting crazy - - -gotta be the heat
