Berry

So what’s the opinion out there? Will Berry ever play again for the Chiefs? Would the Chiefs be better off spending the money on other defensive players that is tied up in Berry and Houston? Those are arguably the two biggest stars on the defense. Do you dare get rid of them and anger the fans if they have a great next year?

I just wish they’d all get healthy. I’d love to see what a full roster could do on D. It wouldn’t take much of an improvement on D to take this offense to a nearly unbeatable place.

@dylans Crap, I say the heading and thought you were informing us he would play! I say be patient.

Oct 28, 2018 02:28 PM #3

@mayjay I really like Berry. It stinks that he can’t play, but I’d rather he missed the first half of the season than the second. Patience is a virtue I can run short of.

I’m to the point where I’d be surprised if he plays this year. Also I would let him and Houston go after the his year.

well you guys did good . QB I'm not getting his name spelled right so screw it lol is unreal - -another 4 td's today. -- Now my team GB - -I could just bitch slap Montgomery ass. here is the Scenario.

Rams have a 29-27 lead with like 2:11 to go we playing them there . so 2:11 to go-- Pack's defense had been playing pretty dam good all day -- So their up 29-27 - - they kick off AGAIN 2:11 to go they kick off , goes deep in the end zone - and what does Montgomery do? - -Instead of taking a knee and starting at the 25 with Aaron coming on the field - -he runs it out not getting close to the 25 and HE FUMBLES Rams recover only TO by either team all day. - - Aaron doesn't even get the chance to drive down the field - - GAME OVER - -Holy shit.

Doesn't even give him the chance. - -How many times has Aaron drove the team down the filed in games like this late in the game 4th quarter? - he put it up Aaron has thrown for like 762 yards 5 td's and no int's in the 4th quarter this year - and this idiot thinks he has to run it out -- JUMPIN GEE HOSSA FATS

@jayballer73 I think the biggest issue with the Packers is Mike McCarthy. He is low key a bad coach imho.

He is pretty bad given what they have had, but how in the world have they never had a RB worth a damn?! That always blows my mind.

oh they had a really dam good back just a couple of yrs ago - -until he couldn't control his dam weight when he was playing he would just flat ass run right of defensive players - -Name? -- Eddy Lacy - - if he could of controlled his weight.

Got a couple of vert talented up and coming young running backs - -give them a couple of years we gonna be alright. - that wasn't the problem tonight - -the problem was a player named Montgomery that pulled the biggest bone headed move of the season.

The defense is fine -- really good Db young they got a lot of very good defensive player. -- gonna be tough , the only team that held the Rams scoreless in a quarter this Season. - -No plain a simple one player that screwed up late in the game - -Montgomery - - you don't make that kind of play when you Have a Aaron Rogers

Berry is here for at least two more seasons based on his contract.

Oct 29, 2018 02:14 AM #10

I hope he will play. Class guy and just a pure instinctual football player.

Oct 29, 2018 04:22 AM #11

Berry maybe the next Jamal Charles, great guy and fan favorite but at some point he has to be healthy on a consistent basis to be worth having on the team. The chiefs also had a couple of O linemen out for today so hard to complain about winning with the injuries piling up. Kansas City needs to draft and make moves on the defensive side of the ball before some of the offensive guys get old or big money to go elsewhere. It be a shame to have all that offensive talent wasted the next few season by being one of the worst defenses in the league. They actually remind me of the 08 and 09 Kansas teams, offense is great but defense is a total mess.

Oct 29, 2018 04:29 AM #12

@kjayhawks I thought the D played much better today.

Oct 29, 2018 12:18 PM #13

Poor coaching decisions by Denver and Keenum is a bad QB. Plus Denver Oline is really bad.

HUNT: Eric Berry is “literally day-to-day”. His return is up to Berry and the medical staff.

If the greatest ability is availability, what’s up with Berry?!? I’m ready to see that baaaaaad man on the field again!!!

I started holding my breath when I read this. Do you know how many times I’ve passed out in the last 2.5 weeks? 😝

Nov 16, 2018 11:29 AM #17

No point in playing Berry yet. Chargers game is the most important game left on the schedule.

Nov 16, 2018 10:12 PM #18

The Chiefs defense with Berry back at his level of play would look something close to league average. With this offense, that's a luxury.

Nov 19, 2018 03:09 PM #19

Berry has Haglund's deformity:!0_1542640310473_BD2E8353-65D8-4651-B333-FB901243529E.jpeg ↗

Let’s get him some clogs and Ibuprofen so he can play lol...If it were only so easy.

Nov 19, 2018 03:17 PM #20

@dylans nasty looking

Nov 19, 2018 03:28 PM #21

@Crimsonorblue22 Sounds painful. Hopefully he can make a playoff run since the Chiefs haven’t put him on the IR.

Nov 19, 2018 03:28 PM #22

Word is he'll start practicing again after the bye week. Probably plays in 3 weeks.

Berry may be back in a couple weeks.

Nov 27, 2018 02:20 PM #24

@dylans

Oh, I hope not.

I'd hate to see him interrupt the flow of our vaunted defense.....

Nov 27, 2018 03:13 PM #25

@nuleafjhawk I know, right?

Imagine how many sacks they could have if the defense on the back end was any good. Currently third for sacks ahead of that beast of a D in Chicago.

You mean Khalil Mack?

"He looked good out there. I see him out there looking like Eric Berry." — Andy Reid on what he saw from Berry at Wednesdays practice.

Jan 18, 2019 01:55 AM #28

Berry is too injury prone time to cut him loose.

Jan 18, 2019 02:17 AM #29

@DoubleDD would cost more to cut him than keep him right now due to his contract. If he makes a big play on Sunday and we make the Super Bowl, worth every penny.

However it is probably time to draft a potential future replacement.

Jan 18, 2019 02:52 AM #30

I'm a huge Berry fan. Keep him and play him whenever he can go. If he's at 75% physically, he's still better than any DB on the team because he's so much smarter. He's basically the only reason I watched Tennessee games when I lived in Knoxville during the dismal years (2007-2009) while he was playing.

Jan 19, 2019 01:22 PM #31

I heard a clip of Berry, he is extra motivated to play in AFC CH game. He really wants to go to SB and play in his hometown, ATL

OK I'm wrong lets pay full price for a part time player. Better yet sign him to a new contract. Top dollar.

What do you not understand about:

It would cost more to cut him now than to keep him.
