Nov 20, 2018 01:42 AM #2

Same old chokers in a big game.

Nov 20, 2018 01:44 AM #3

The Chiefs have Missouri taint on them.

Nov 20, 2018 01:46 AM #4

Haha I was just going to say I’m a bshark like Chiefs fan. I think they’ll lose them all! It’s really just a product of the horrendous D though. Pat will keep it interesting

Yeah, the defense is really bad. The Rams are also very good. But I mean, the Rams aren't even running right now which is KC's biggest weakness.

Nov 20, 2018 01:50 AM #7

@BShark I really hope Berry can come back this season -in case you haven’t noticed my begging 😆

Nov 20, 2018 02:35 AM #8

I cheer for the Chiefs D like I do Dok’s free throws.

Nov 20, 2018 02:42 AM #9

Damn. That one is on Pat.

Nov 20, 2018 02:48 AM #10

Nov 20, 2018 02:55 AM #12

Goff is really good! Mahomes is amazing though. Fun game so far!!!

Nov 20, 2018 03:00 AM #13

@dylans flags! Refs😡

Nov 20, 2018 03:01 AM #14

@Crimsonorblue22 10?!? On the Chiefs in ONE half of play!!! The NFL put together an all star crew and they love the yellow flag!

Nov 20, 2018 03:07 AM #15

@dylans There were also at leasr 2 declined penalties. And these haven't been bad calls. Our secondary has been exposed--again.

Nov 20, 2018 03:11 AM #16

@dylans one hand on the back? Block in the back? Bs

Nov 20, 2018 03:17 AM #17

This loss is on Mahomes period.

Nov 20, 2018 03:21 AM #18

How do the refs miss a false start and a hold on the same play by the same player. Ridiculous

Nov 20, 2018 03:24 AM #19

@BShark and if they win it's on him?

Nov 20, 2018 03:54 AM #40

@BShark not if we get some guys back on D

Nov 20, 2018 03:55 AM #41

This loss isn't on the D. Pat sucked tonight. Will choke in the playoffs. Andy rubbed off on him. Choke in big games.

Nov 20, 2018 04:59 AM #111

Too many drops by Kelce. Too many bad balls by Mahomes and a 3 point L. Lots of room for improvement ought to be he scary thing for the rest of the NFL.

Nov 20, 2018 04:59 AM #112

Plenty of room to improve, especially on D.

Lordy, I hate that shade of yellow

Nov 20, 2018 04:59 AM #113

Nite all.

Nov 20, 2018 03:17 PM #114

The problem is with this team is that with how bad the defense is when they are playing a top team (Pats, Rams among others) the offense has zero margin for error most of the time. I think this team does what chiefs teams do, lose to the first good QB they face in the playoffs. People are now saying it will be a rematch in the SB, both teams have to get there first. Rams got beat by the Saints, who IMO are playing the best at this point and the Chiefs have lost to the best 2 teams they have played, they prob have to go thru NE to get anywhere.

Nov 20, 2018 03:21 PM #115

With the worst defense in the history of the NFL and a quarterback that , tonight, looked like a High School sophomore making his first start, KC should have been beaten by 50. A three point loss is stunning considering all of the bad things that happened.

Nov 20, 2018 03:49 PM #116

That game was W-I-L-D

The NFL has a serious officiating problem. They missed several things that were plainly obvious at regular speed ON TV!!! And that was supposed to be an "all star" crew. If that's the best the NFL has to offer in terms of officials, they should fire everyone and start over. Just ridiculous how bad they were.

And it wasn't just that they made some bad calls against the Chiefs. They made some calls that just flat out didn't make sense.

The officials were almost as big a story in a game that featured three MVP candidates, 900 yards of passing offense, 105 total points and no less than six of the most exciting players (Mahomes, Goff, Gurley, Hill, Hunt, Donald) in the NFL. That should literally NEVER happen.

Nov 20, 2018 04:50 PM #117

@DanR Me too. I assume you're talking about the color of yellow on the flags that were thrown on every Chiefs play.

Nov 20, 2018 05:27 PM #118

@nuleafjhawk lol

Nov 20, 2018 05:35 PM #119

The All-Start officiating crew was anything but...Ndamukong Suh is still the dirtiest player in the NFL

Nov 20, 2018 06:30 PM #120

As an unbiased observer that game was a blast to watch, at least the last 8 minutes that I saw.

Nov 20, 2018 06:49 PM #121

That game played out just like the NFL wanted it. I'm always going to be suspicious of unprecedented referee personnel moves by a multi billion dollar organization where they are trying to grow a fanbase in the largest city in the country.

The Rams "quick snaps" are all illegal. They had at least 3 false starts not called. The block in the back penalty was a joke. The pass interference that was almost a pick to start the game was a joke. This game was a joke.

With that being said, Chiefs still had their shot. If this game is on a neutral field and I'd bet we win. And I did have fun watching the game. I just could have written the story before it happened.

Nov 20, 2018 07:22 PM #122

@Kcmatt7 When the game starts off with one team having 9 penalties, and the other team having ZERO - pockets are being lined.

Yes, I'm a biased Chiefs fan, but i agree with your assessment of a WHOLE bunch of blatantly crap calls -- both ways.

In my expert (sarcasm font enabled) opinion - we win this game by 2 TD's if Mahomes hadn't bought into the idea that he is Superman. He tried to make a lot of really stupid plays that experienced QB's would have thrown into the stands or thrown a screen to a wide open receiver (who happens to be the fastest guy in the league). Yes, he is better than most NFL QB's at digging himself out of a pit, but the Chiefs have NO chance of getting to the Super Bowl if he doesn't learn when not to throw into double or triple coverage.

Oh yeah, they might want to fire Bob Sutton and get Clint Bowen if they want to win some games. Because that defense (again with the sarcasm font when i say "defense") is going to do nothing but cost us games.

As you guys know Chiefs are not my favorite team, as you know I'm a Aaron Rodgers/Packers fan - - yet I DO follow KC a lot and do like them as another team. - Like my local sports station is talking about this game - - how can ANYONE walk away from this game an not be jacked - -- OMG - - Patrick is an absolute fricken Stud. - -Look what this kid is doing in his FIRST YEAR - he is shredding records. - how do you shut down the Chiefs - -I mean we/you got Tyreik H. -- -HUNT - - - Kelse - - - Patrick.

Then these announcers on this sports talk -yes they were pumping him up - -yet they thought he hurried on the last drive , pointing to the 3rd Int -- -they thought he went to far down field instead of just working the clock.- - I can understand that to A POINT - -they were complaining about the pass. - -My point is the only reason he didn't complete that pass - -his arm WAS HIT that is the ONLY reason for the Int that is the ONLY REASON. - -but yet I can understand in a way- - - - - yet who would have the guts the way Patrick has played this year who would of bet that we wouldn't drive down the field for the winning TD if his arm wasn't hit?

I mean holy shit throws for 6 TD's Again and what close if not over 500 yds passing. - -Chiefs fans you keep these guys together and look the hell out. The only thing I said that will keep your Chiefs out of the Super bowl - -is the defense -your gonna have to outscore KC - - Kc couldn't stop them - -what an awesome game though -they /no one has anything at all to hang your heads about - -what a fricking game - - now that's football

I think you have to let Mahomes be Mahomes. You take the good with the bad. He's on pace to throw 54 TDs and 16 ints and over 5200 yards. Only HOF guys put up those kinds of numbers. That's just not the issue imo. I get what you're saying. And I think he'll get better just from playing. But the truth is that this team only has a shot at a Superbowl BECAUSE of Mahomes.

As far as the defense goes, I think we just need to make sure that the AFC path to the Superbowl comes through Arrowhead.

Nov 20, 2018 09:55 PM #128

Mahomes will learn from these mistakes. He can make some spectacular plays, but he will also learn which ones he cannot make because of balance, pressure, speed of defenders, etc.

But you can't rein in his confidence. He has a once in a generation arm, and he has the confidence to use it to its full potential. There's no reason to rein that in, because he will make more plays than he will miss.

Nov 20, 2018 10:02 PM #129

@Kcmatt7 , @justanotherfan - I love the numbers he's putting up. But - he has to have the smarts to know when enough is enough. For instance - am i the only one that saw the season flash before my eyes when he attempted to tackle the giant dude in the end zone and his right foot/leg looked like it was going to splinter? He needed to let it go - we aren't going to any playoffs with him in a cast on the bench. That's what I'm talking about. Throw it left handed, throw it behind your back, throw it while standing on your head - i don't care - just don't be stupid and throw into double/triple coverage. Three interceptions. The one is understandable, but two of them were strictly because he was trying to make a pass that even he couldn't make. I don't want him to Alex it down - just don't give the ball away for no reason.

Nov 20, 2018 11:38 PM #130

@nuleafjhawk Good point on the "Mahomes tossed around like a bean bag" tackle attempt. One additional thought is that, if successful, Mahomes at best would have kept the Rams at the 2 yard line or so. The defense would have then held for 2 plays, only to get called for PI in the end zone, and then a touchdown from the 1. So, the good news is for once we were saved from that lather-rinse-repeat-repeat-repeat scenario.

Dec 10, 2018 01:45 AM #144

From CBSSports.com, by Jason La Canfora:

Patrick Mahomes is the NFL's most valuable player.

Mahomes was, to me, more impressive than ever on Sunday. This wasn't going to be a week where the Chiefs came out and scored on five straight drives to open the game. They weren't going to always be playing with the lead. They were going against the league's best defense and Baltimore did, in fact, shut down and beat up the opposing quarterback for a good portion of this game. It was a day in which the Chiefs offense would go large portions of the day without the football as the Ravens' RPO ground attack rolled up another 198 yards of rushing.

It was going to be a day where the Chiefs would have to win ugly and overcome their defense in order to clinch a playoff spot, avoid the Chargers nipping at them in the AFC West standings and take full advantage of an afternoon when the Texans and Patriots lost games they were favored to win. And make no mistake, with Kareem Hunt released a week ago, Sammy Watkins hurt agai, Tyreek Hill limping around, Spencer Ware needing medical attention and Kansas City's offensive line bullied by Baltimore's pass rush, it was Mahomes who made it all happen in a wild, 27-24 overtime win.

He completed a ridiculous no-look pass to key a monster drive. He kept another play alive forever under duress before firing across his body for 50 yards to Hill to set up the game-tying score in the dying minutes. That's all. He only made about a half dozen throws that no one else completes right now, and probably only Aaron Rodgers would even try. If Mahomes was a half-step slower, just a smidge less brilliant in his ability to see the field and diagnose defenses mentally, with an arm that was just a touch less strong or a bit more inaccurate, the Chiefs lose this game and are staring at an uncomfortable crossroads.

Instead, because of the 23-year old passer, Andy Reid was left speechless and flabbergasted on the sidelines at the insane plays Mahomes made, repeatedly, as he rolls toward his 50th touchdown pass of the season. Instead, he made the Ravens contemplate their own mortality for the season, as he threw for 377 yards (topping 4,000 for the season) and two more touchdowns (he's up to 43, now) against the unit that came into this game allowing the worst passer rating in the NFL.

Mahomes looked at an array of blitzes the likes of which he had never before seen and was rarely gifted a clean pocket or much time to operate, but he gutted through it, stayed composed and released his gunslinger to capture the victory. It felt like a playoff game, and it was Mahomes' toughest task yet given the injuries and lack of so many impact players. No first-time starter has looked like this since Dan Marino, and it should be reflected in the postseason hardware.

Mahomes is ridiculous.

Mahomes makes me feel like Broncos fans must have felt with Elway, or how 49ers fans felt with Montana - all we need is to have the ball and be within a score, and he will find a way to get it done. I wasn't even panicking on either 4th down on that game tying drive. If that's literally any Chiefs QB over the last 30 years, that game is lost because they take a sack, or throw a pick, or somehow screw things up. Mahomes just kept making plays.

And the crazy thing is, he wasn't even "on".

Come on chiefs! Can't have 2 bad nights!

Dec 24, 2018 02:39 AM #151

@Crimsonorblue22 I can’t watch, which bodes well for the Chiefs - I’ve only watched 3 games this year. Yes, those three. Do the Chiefs look bad or does Seattle’s D look good?

Dec 24, 2018 02:40 AM #152

This Chiefs team is trash. First round playoff exit.

Mahomes started poorly, likely too jacked. Then things appeared to be going well and Williams fumbled it gifting Seattle a score.

Dec 24, 2018 02:54 AM #154

@BShark thx crims

Dec 24, 2018 03:14 AM #155

Can we screw up many more times?

Dec 24, 2018 03:28 AM #156

What a pass, did u c him look at his hand?🤔

Dec 24, 2018 03:44 AM #157

Nelson, thinking yelling at a receiver is enough to cover him.

Dec 24, 2018 04:05 AM #158

I don't smoke, after these last 2 games though?🤔 I don't drink either,🥃

Dec 24, 2018 04:09 AM #161

D was bad tonight but I blame the offense more. Too many drives of 3 plays or less.

Dec 24, 2018 04:14 AM #162

Sweet catch

Dec 24, 2018 04:15 AM #163

I love him😍

Dec 24, 2018 04:16 AM #164

Every athlete needs guts and heart like him. Leadership skills too!

Dec 24, 2018 04:18 AM #165

@mayjay you staying home for Christmas?

Dec 24, 2018 04:19 AM #166

@BShark you?

Dec 24, 2018 04:29 AM #167

The chiefs may have the worst secondary in NFL history. They are pissing away a great offense this year.

Dec 24, 2018 04:33 AM #168

Wilson and his receivers aren't to shabby either. Those penalties! Sucks, is that red head guy new?

Dec 24, 2018 04:34 AM #169

Flag!

Dec 24, 2018 04:35 AM #170

No hold there?

Dec 24, 2018 04:40 AM #171

Every single player in the KC secondary should he fired the first Monday after the season.

Yea fuller is hurt.

Dec 24, 2018 04:56 AM #174

He had surgery right? Might be back though?

Dec 24, 2018 04:57 AM #175

@BShark tell me, they looked good on us, one handed catch!

Dec 24, 2018 05:00 AM #176

Did Berry play the full game?

Fuller had no stats, did he play at all?

Dec 24, 2018 05:07 AM #177

@dylans Berry was out on the last Seattle drive.

Fuller did not dress and was inactive.

Dec 24, 2018 05:14 AM #178

@dylans didn't he have surgery on his wrist?

Dec 24, 2018 05:25 AM #179

Dec 30, 2018 11:34 PM #189

No taunting there! Funny! What a show! So many records. Way to go chiefs! Couldn't happen to a better team, raiders suck!

Dec 30, 2018 11:36 PM #190

Was so cool to see, I call him Pat🤣 at AFH getting the crowd going for the nova game! I'm in love😍🏈

Dec 30, 2018 11:37 PM #191

Question, they always show Pats dad in the box, does he have a mom?

Dec 30, 2018 11:54 PM #192

So I googled it, he does have a mom. They have been divorced for a long time but remain good friends. Pat has a brother and a much younger sister. Wealth of knowledge!

Dec 30, 2018 11:59 PM #193

I'm super stoked about this game! Can't say enough about mahomes! What a talent, and he's still so young. He's a leader and he's such a positive person.

cool - -of course I'm sure you know - - couldn't stand Jordy when he was in College - -playing for K-Straight. - -

Now one of my all time favorites - -awesome player - -I think my Packers sure screwed him over - -wouldn't even try and talk to him in discussions - -my understanding Jordy really wanted to stay - -I hope he enjoys his retirement - -I think he said he was retiring this year right?

Dec 31, 2018 02:36 AM #195

@Crimsonorblue22 - -I hope so - -he needs to retire as a Packer

Dec 31, 2018 02:50 AM #196

Well here to say Congradulations to KC Chiefs - - -yes I know - -that you know that KC is not my top Choice - -I live and die with the Packers - - and yes we sucked for sure this season. Yet hey I'm a true fan - -a true fan sticks with your team through good times and Bad.

Yet I still root for KC unless they are playing Green Bay. - -I think we all knew this from watching him for Tech - -Patrick is an absolute stud. - -Great job for KC Organization - - -Good for all KC fans , you are going to have a unbelievable QB for the next several seasons - -hope you all do well in the playoffs.

I think IF and again I'm saying IF - -there is anything at all to keep KC out of the Super bowl - -it will be your defense - - - Again before you maul me - -I said IF there was one thing that would keep you out lol

Oh one interesting side note -- interesting : - -None of the top 6 paid QB'S in the league made the playoffs. - - Aaron 33.5 M - - - - - - Matt Ryan 30 M - - - - - Kirk Cousins 28 M - - - -Jimmy Garoppolo 27.5 M - - - -Matthew Stafford 27 M - - - & Derek Carr -25 M -crazy - -Good luck to ALL the KC fans - -you deserve it. -- ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY
