I get the feeling that Self still thinks shooting 3s doesn't win championships. It's like he was saying, "we did everything right, they just made shots."

Well, Bill, people who get that far have dudes who make shots. You can't double down low and leave a wing wide open or they'll make you pay.

There are so many parallels to the NFL. It's all about the long ball now. Teams are fine giving up larger chunks in the running game, so long as they're not killed by the long ball. And you don't win NFL games with running.

And you're not going to win the Tourney unless you a) hit 3s and b) guard the 3.

Hopefully Garrett is guarding him because they will also play roundtree which is a better match up defensively for dedric. The simple fact that Marcus will get out on him and Dedric wont makes this a no brainer. That is unless nova plays 4 guards.

Booth I figure will see some Dotson and Grimes. Gillispie and Cremo let it fly so between the 3 it's really about staying grounded and not giving them 10 15 open looks. If they shoot 30 and at least 20 are guarded what can we do if they make em. I hope we play well early. Cannot be in a hole against this team early.

Yeah, Garrett is gonna have to play the 4. Hopefully he's not tempted to shoot the 3. If Dedric gets hot and we have one other strong 3 point shooter, and Garrett plays the 4 for the majority of the game, we win.

I am hoping for a 20+ point pasting along the lines of 87-65 but realistically it is going to be closer to 75-66.

I think we win. If Nova is hot, they could really make us sweat or win. But I think the crowd will be so pumped we will play with great energy. This Nova team is not as good as the last 2 that we played.

@Fightsongwriter Yep. I figured it would be tight, and it was. Nova is a really good team that will be a nightmare for a higher seeded team in the tourney. I hope they stay east.
