Dean Wade Outski

Seems like his recurring foot injury was re-aggravated in their win against GA State. He's been on crutches since. Tough break for the kittens.

Stress fracture last season. Same foot.

Dec 16, 2018 08:43 PM #3

Stokes hurt too?

Goes back to HS.

@Crimsonorblue22 Yup. Ole Brucie can't catch a break.

Dec 16, 2018 11:20 PM #5

@BShark

Last season he caught enough breaks to last him until his contract is up for renewal.

@BShark If they make it to the tournament, then maybe they get lucky again, and draw Tucky for a 2nd year in a row. That was a free pass to the Elite 8.

Dec 17, 2018 03:16 AM #8

@KUSTEVE they really had a free pass to the final four, they just pissed it away.

Dec 17, 2018 03:18 AM #9

@kjayhawks True that. The stage got too big for them. They choked.

Dec 17, 2018 03:35 AM #10

@BShark didn’t they say they had put a pin or screws in there in hs?

Yes

Dec 17, 2018 05:17 AM #12

@BShark wonder if they tried to replace or redo that. Should have.

Dec 17, 2018 12:34 PM #13

Rumors now that it might be a torn fascia which would mean he is done for the year.

Ouch. Huge blow to KSU

Medical red shirt candidate? Dean’s not NBA material, so why not try for one?

Yeah, he'd be able to get one. Played less than 30% of their games.

Wade is a class act and one of the better players from Kansas in recent years and has been a big player for KSU. Hopefully he will have a full recovery.

Dec 17, 2018 05:36 PM #18

@BShark is that related to his stress fracture? I saw when it happened, just a jump shot, no contact. He was in a lot of pain!

Dec 17, 2018 07:06 PM #19

It is not the same foot as last year. Totally different injury.

Dec 17, 2018 08:04 PM #20

Reading off the KSU boards about this - - one say talk is he will be out anywhere from 2-8 weeks -Sounds like they maybe gonna put Trice in to take his spot - -gonna be interesting. - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Dec 17, 2018 09:12 PM #21

KSU still hasn't put out a statement saying

  1. What the injury is
  2. What the timetable for return is

That leads me to believe that Wade is done for the year.

They will probably delay until after Christmas, then make an official announcement. And that announcement is that he is likely done for the season, which is unfortunate because Wade is a heck of a player that looked like he might be primed for a big year.

Dec 18, 2018 12:26 AM #22

@Woodrow yeah, just said that on the news here too. Crazy. Do we consider him a big man susceptible to foot injuries?

Dec 18, 2018 02:03 AM #23

@justanotherfan They were saying here off our local sports talk in Topeka - -they were hearing anywhere from 2-8 weeks - -is on Crutches and boot since the game

Dec 18, 2018 02:35 AM #24

I'm sad about the loss of Wade. He is a heck of a player and a quality guy. I enjoyed our match ups. Especially painful because it was his senior year and promised to be a big year for him and the kitties.

He has an injury history. That has to factor into it.

Dec 18, 2018 05:05 PM #26

@drgnslayr Couldn't he redshirt, sit out, graduate, and play the 4 for us next year?

Dec 18, 2018 05:06 PM #27

@KUSTEVE can you transfer to another con team?

Dec 18, 2018 05:12 PM #28

@Crimsonorblue22 I dunno.

Dec 18, 2018 06:51 PM #29

I think the only real restriction to grad transfers is they must go into a degree that isn’t offered by their current university. Conference transfer rules??? Good question @Crimsonorblue22 might still add a year.

you know I think many moon's ago - -I think kids could transfer within conference I think as far back as when we were the big 8.

Thing is and again for some reason I was thinking they could transfer within conference but lost two years of eligibility at that time. - -Not sure why that sticks out - -but I think that's how it was. - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

well here is the latest on Dean from Ol squeaky. - - -the injury ia a small tear in a tendon in his foot.

Squeaks now saying time out could be in the best case scenario of 3-4 weeks - which would be like him missing like the first 5 games or so in the Big 12 schedule - - the worst case Scenario which could be 8 weeks - -which if that turns out to be the case they said - -yes he could be available for the game against us in the Phog BUT not sure if it would be worth it - -thinking I guess about the tourney.

IF he is out the 8 weeks - it's pretty much a lost season for him I would think. - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY
