SuperDuper cold here in Chiberia. -40-50 wind chills. Furnace not keeping up. Everyone stayed home today. Obviously a lot of you are out in the Dorothy's state, but just curious if it's impacting you too. And sure, some of you basking in warmer climes, go ahead and post, it'll make us feel warmer!

-2 before windchill last I checked.

Windchill is up to -1. It was -12 about 90 minutes ago so a heat wave must have came through. All the schools are cancelled and the mail has been cancelled as well.

Not near as bad as up North, but still way to cold for this guy.

All schools are still open in Winnipeg, where I live, despite being -40. People are prepared.

I'm in Tucson right now, though. Pretty happy about that.

@wissox I am in Chicago as well. Completely insane weather. Stayed home. 50 below zero windchill does not sound fun while waiting on the El train.

Schools all canceled here too (near Topeka) but post office was open.

@BShark That sounds nice!

The post office (no door to door delivery here ever) is closed due to the state wide cold snap. It’s 19 degrees on its way to 40 and completely dry. Makes about as much sense as anything these days I suppose.

It was about -10 this morning when I started my truck with the wind chill, It has warmed up to 15, 5 with the wind chill currently. Sadly after this morning it doesn't feel that bad out. If it was -50 out i would've stayed at the house, we wouldn't of had most people show up in that anyway.

It was 7 here this morning - temperature DOUBLE by lunch time...... My fingers and toes haven't been warm in a month. We should all go in on a timeshare or something in the Bahamas.

Everyone stay warm and safe!

Ha, as much arguing that we do here, imagine if we were under one roof? Cops would have to be called on a nightly basis, but at least we'd be in the Bahamas!

I’ve made some poor life decisions. Coming home from my honeymoon (in 2001) was definitely one of them.

@dylans That's the good life right there.

Shoot the high 65 here in central Kansas on Sunday.

Suffering greatly here in SC. Got down into the 20's. Supposed to get up to 72 on Tuesday.

We miss the snow sometimes, but not that bitter cold! Good luck, everybody. Stay smart and stay safe. Gets to the teens here and people start acting real stupid. So, no indoor bonfires no matter how much you want s'mores to warm you up. And don't plug 5 portable heaters into 3 extension cords.

We're above zero with little wind. Feels like beach weather.

Jan 31, 2019 11:51 PM #22

I didn't think it was that bad in Lawrence. Got down to -5 the other morning. I walked the dog and couldn't feel my face for a few minutes. Big difference from Chicago @ -30 where you'd never feel your face AGAIN.

Balmy this afternoon.

@DanR I've spent some cold days when I lived in Northern Wisconsin and this cold blast comes close to equalling what I experienced there.

You know old folks are really suffering when the cold even gets to the teens.
