If at first you don't succeed, wait for other coaches to suck.

Vandy

A&M

Bama

UCLA

Feel free to edit this and add to it yourself.

Would take any of the Bama guys. Tyreek Smith from A&M and Austin Crowley from Vandy.

Would take. Still just not sure how many guard scholarships are going to be open though.

I think the only way Self signs another guard is if Grimes leaves? If Moore transfers we have McBride for that role behind Dotson.

I would think Self would want to find an athletic guard that can actually shoot. Stanley fits the first, not the second. There will be plenty of grad transfer guards on the market

@BeddieKU23 I'd be fine pushing out Moore for another guard even if Grimes wants to stay. The issue is there is absolutely no PT to sell with Dotson, Grimes, Garrett and Agbaji around unless it's an elite recruit.

Moore absolutely has to go.

Grant Sherfield de-committed a while back. I know we mentioned that already before. Just fits in this in case they circle the wheel again

better yet, how did he ever get here

Agree, he just isn't good enough period. The only way he stays is if recruiting is so toxic Self just can't add anyone else.

Very much doubt KU gets involved.

The more desperate you get, the prettier the girls start to look.

We had "prettier" options at the time. I've always pinned the day we took him in my mind as something we'd regret

@BeddieKU23 I remember that. I also said he is a poor fit and an odd take at the time.

I’m not in favor of pushing Moore out. He’s a good kid, just not a great player. Pushing out guys that don’t get paid for just not being as good as you’d like doesn’t sit right with me.

Mar 22, 2019 10:19 PM #14

@FarmerJayhawk Fair enough. I don't think he hurts the team by sticking around as long as he doesn't get much PT. Obviously recruits can see how he does when he gets in and not be worried about him playing ahead of them you would think.

Then he should be a walk on. He should not take away a scholarship from someone more talented if they want to come here.

Mar 22, 2019 10:45 PM #16

@BShark yup. If a kid doesn’t want to compete with Moore for PT I don’t want him.

Mar 22, 2019 10:46 PM #17

@Kcmatt7 against NCAA rules chief.

Mar 22, 2019 11:38 PM #18

@FarmerJayhawk can you tell me the rule for my own information? Serious. I didn’t know that want a thing.

Mar 23, 2019 04:13 AM #19

Sure! Once you’re a recruited athlete you can’t walk on at that school. KU offered Moore a scholarship so he can’t be a walk-on at KU ever. If he were to leave KU he could walk on at another school as long as they don’t recruit him. So like we did with Justin Wesley when he left Lamar.

Mar 23, 2019 05:34 AM #20

@FarmerJayhawk wrong, Morningstar was on scholarship, then went walk on for a year.

Mar 23, 2019 02:19 PM #21

@kjayhawks Morningstar started as a walk-on though. You can be a walk-on and get a scholarship for a year and have it taken back away. You can’t be recruited as a scholarship athlete, receive a scholarship, and then be asked to walk on later.

Mar 23, 2019 02:29 PM #22

I would be interested in seeing the rule citation on this one. So a kid can't voluntarily give up his scholarship and stay at the school of his choice? I recall the discuss about Brady giving his up due to our scholarship limitations. That said, I've never even looked at the rule one way or another.

@dylans That seems to be the rumor. I saw someone actually reported it, but I haven't seen it from anyone else.

Harris got his full release. Not a huge fan but if push comes to shove, we do need at least one more guard, probably 2. Also tore his ACL in December so may be a RS candidate wherever he lands.
