Moss could play tonight. If not then it seems like next week would be his debut since the Hawks have a week off after this.

Nov 08, 2019 12:35 PM #27

This is going to be a tough game tonight. Self says they only watched tape Wednesday and had 1 day to prep for a team that won 29 games last year. Looks like they will press KU and use their shot blocker in the middle to make things difficult. I expect this one to be sort of an ugly game

Nov 08, 2019 01:17 PM #28

I'd press KU too after that Duke performance.

Nov 08, 2019 01:26 PM #29

@wrwlumpy Fondue! Where are the strawberries?

Nov 08, 2019 01:30 PM #30

@wrwlumpy
That's neat! I wonder if they do that year round or if that was just a one time thing.

BShark said:

Imagine if KU has been playing against a good defense, it would’ve been ugly. With that many unforced turnovers...Kansas completely beat themselves. It’ll be ok, Self teams usually look rough until after the Christmas break.

Nov 08, 2019 03:14 PM #32

@dylans I think Duke did a great job and executed their defensive gameplan.

Nov 08, 2019 03:33 PM #33

At home in the season opener KU should still pull out a comfortable win here. However after the first game, short prep and playing a team that changes it's defensive style of play, has athletes to compete and is a winning program of late I think that's the recipe for seeing a closer then expected game. I hope we show up and take them seriously and respond positively.

Nov 08, 2019 03:56 PM #34

I could see this game being played within a tighter point window than many would expect.

Nov 08, 2019 06:07 PM #35

Vegas currently has KU winning by 15-1/2 with an over/under of 144

Just raising the awareness that the team we're playing on short prep is better then their name. Has all the makings of a game we expect to win by 30-40 but likely could be a single digit or game KU is having to work hard for

Exactly.

OK guys , is being talked about on the local sports broadcast off WIBW , about the line up' s of KU and talking about different things with it. - -Here is the thing , and I know ALOT will not agree with this - -But I can see it - -I thought about if before myself -I pretty much agree with it and that is:

Like these guys said - - They truly think and I do to that by the time Feb rolls around -- that IF he can absorb everything - - then Jalen Wilson would be the perfect flex 4 - -a guy that could step out on the floor play in space - -I felt this way when I found out that he was transferring to us from Michigan. - ALOT better then Silvio or Dave at that position - -neither of those guys going to be able to hit with any consistency at all anything over 8-10 ft away from rim - -Jalen more mobile, again he has to be able to grasp the whole concept = =With Jalen can he can knock down 3's take a guy further away from the basket forces to guard out further - -with Doke & Dave - -OR Doke And Silvio - - gonna run into a lot of times where teams still going to be able to double up on Doke - -they pose no threat far from the hoop.

He is the best option for that spot - -I know -- I know a lot won't agree but tossing it out anyways - -with what we got right now - - the spacing is terrible - way to congested

Nov 08, 2019 11:16 PM #39

This will a super tight game, with their pressure, it wouldn’t surprised me if we lost. Can’t have 28 turnovers. They pressure us and probably pack the paint with a zone and dare us to shoot.

Nov 08, 2019 11:22 PM #40

@kjayhawks wonder if Bill learned his lesson. Jacking threes is so much better than trying to force buckets down low. Even like 32% from three on a high volume would be fantastic if it meant low turnover numbers.

Nov 09, 2019 12:06 AM #41

@BShark

It's better to jack 3s when your bigs cant make layups or dunk the ball at 7 feet. That play where they missed 4 shots at the rim cannot happen. Ever

Nov 09, 2019 12:08 AM #42

@BeddieKU23 if Bill tries to play the same way no doubt Greensboro will employ a similar defensive strategy. They may not have the horses to pull off a win but I would be disappointed if Bill didn't adapt at all.

Nov 09, 2019 12:26 AM #43

@BShark

I expect to see a halfway decent effort enough to win but I think we will be disappointed in the fact game 1 was so bad and they may not be able to completely fix their issues and get a comfortable win. I want to be wrong. Maybe some home cooking helps

Nov 09, 2019 02:54 AM #44

4 Guard line up = largest lead of the night... how long Bill? It’s 2019

FACTS. Needs to just go with it the rest of the year.

Nov 09, 2019 02:59 AM #46

@BShark it opened up the lane and was the best offense in 2 games for those few minutes.

Nov 09, 2019 03:01 AM #47

What's this duke shi!

mentioned we only had 4 turnovers so that's better anyways

Nov 09, 2019 03:18 AM #49

Notice 4 guards much better ball movement and largest lead. Almost as if it’s better, my god we made 3 straight elite 8s and a final four with it.

Part of Belicheck's brilliance is that he doesn't.

Nov 09, 2019 03:43 AM #63

Just NIGHT and DAY difference - - smooth , smooth , smooth. - -also with 4 out - - better ball handlers - - you can see better control of ball

Nov 09, 2019 03:48 AM #64

So much room for doke with them having to respect the 3

Nov 09, 2019 03:49 AM #65

Getting a little lazy on D here.

Nov 09, 2019 03:49 AM #66

much less cluttered with this line up - - -can't afford to double

Nov 09, 2019 03:50 AM #67

@BShark that whole organization is light years ahead of the rest

Nov 09, 2019 03:52 AM #68

Enaruna is a killer

Nov 09, 2019 03:53 AM #69

Enaruna is a nice surprise thus far. I thought Braun would be better, but still early.

Nov 09, 2019 03:53 AM #70

I think we found how we should play - -but you never know

Nov 09, 2019 03:53 AM #71

And we may not be giving his outside shot enough respect. Hes got game

Nov 09, 2019 03:54 AM #72

kjayhawks said:

I think actually in the overall scheme of things this will help Braun

Nov 09, 2019 03:55 AM #73

I would think Bryce would like this style a lot more being played here in the 2nd half

Nov 09, 2019 04:00 AM #74

Final score right near the spread. Also got up by 21 then eased up a bit. Progress for sure.

Nov 09, 2019 04:02 AM #76

Got sloppy and lazy after we built a lead but night and day difference between the two halfs. The first half it was hard to til who was the better team or even if we’d win. Second half was more if we’d win by 20 or more.

just a totally different team with the 4 out. - Have to agree - - got kind of sloppy and they worked way back in - -But overall 2nd half pretty dam good

Nov 09, 2019 04:04 AM #78

@BShark

2nd half was encouraging and the defense was straight suffocating for about 10 minutes there

Nov 09, 2019 04:05 AM #79

Dotson brought his game tonight and if that happens most nights he is the key to everything

First 12 minutes of the half they absolutely slaughtered Greensboro and effectively ended the game. Play with that effort and get our guys fully healthy and things could get interesting.

Nov 09, 2019 04:05 AM #81

Devon - - 22 points - - 6 assists -- 1 turnover and 8 rebounds - - 8-8 from the line

Nov 09, 2019 04:06 AM #82

Utah won 143 to 49, largest margin of victory between 2 division 1 schools in history.

@jayballer73 he was solid tonight after Jones out played him Tuesday.

Nov 09, 2019 04:08 AM #86

@kjayhawks Was still favoring his ankle Tuesday. Mostly looked better tonight but I am thankful for the week off. Get him and Moss healed up.

Nov 09, 2019 04:19 AM #87

Dam Jalen broke his Ankle. - - probably done/redshirt
