Easy win, KU pushing 100 again imo.
Probably 3-2 in this stretch, better than that would be stellar.
Also kudos on the ref dig re @WVU
Being a top 2 seed seems pretty indicative of overall success in the tournament. Makes sense.
Goat meaning greatest of all time.
Josh is the KU OAD GOAT barring injury.
Last game was encouraging for Landen and Bragg. Just keep getting better every day.
Huggins is all over the refs.
Not sure if the ft situation will get much better. Josh and Doke are two of the most likely players on our roster to get fouled (along with Frank) and they are both so bad at it.
Would probably rather have the team not be #1 (even if and when KU is the best team) just for mental reasons.
Huggins probably high fived him for it after the game.
We seem to contain guards pretty well mostly, Blackmon aside. I'd be on Aldrige.
I was having trouble reconciling KSU being #33 Kenpom. #45 on Sagarin which feels closer to correct but we won't really know until they start playing real teams. Could be that we head into the "sunflower showdown" with both teams only having 1 loss. Of course the schedules are of completely different quality and I'd bet KSU would be 5-3 or worse with our schedule.
By the same token Stanford had a career 52% ft shooter go 19-22 from the line. So, stuff happens and the flow of the game after Stanford's early lead (due to KU's sluggish start) was such that it never really felt in doubt after that. Also Tyler and the gang turned this from 20+ to 15 even considering everything else.
Also Stanford is not a midmajor. Mid-level program yes but in a P5 conference.
The problem is yes PSU beat tOSU, but they also lost to Michigan and Pitt. You can't just remove those losses. So yes they have h2h against tOSU but by having the L against Michigan it created a messy triangle where you can't do h2h because it's 3 teams and they each went 1-1 against the other.
And yes 8 teams would have made this better.
Dear Carty
Are you watching SLU play?
Sincerely,
KU Fans
Completely disagree. I think tOSU would win 8 out of 10 or so against PSU. Now, they did lose the one they actually played so that matters. I feel the committee made the right decision though. Not sure what happens now but Bama would have destroyed PSU.
Dying.
This will make it extra sweet when we beat Baylor.
Fluke win for PSU against tOSU. Blocked fg returned for a td, long punt return that set up a score. Very Chiefs... They also lost by a truckload to Michigan and lost to Pitt.
JMO
- Bama (duh)
- tOSU
- UW
- Clemson
I don't really see anyone beating Bama. If PSU gets in it will be a straight up massacre.
Small team, and the biggish guys they have don't play much. Not good for them against KU.

KenPom isn't perfect KSU is ranked #33 and Dook #2.
Oh definitely, the issue with kenpom, rpi etc is that it's all just statistical analysis and I do still believe there are things that can not be measured. Plus it can be hard to account for something like KSU's schedule.

Faces in the crowd:
On the KU Hoops site there is a picture of Devonte' and in the background you clearly see Larry Brown.
On the ESPN site there are 4 videos of our game and the one where Devonte' fakes his man out and throws it to Josh for the one handed slam, when they flash over to the bench Kevin "Fro" Young is sitting there smiling and clapping. The other videos are the highlights, the recap by the two bad announcers, and Frank's crazy reverse layup and 1!
I'd love to see Kevin Young brought on the staff once he is done drifting around various pro leagues.
The blackout is such crappola. I know it's only a few games, but I am in Kansas and actually can not get TWC (yep just can't get it, I'm in the boonies). So I have no issues bypassing the blackout restriction for those games.
Yeah. Stanford missed 29 shots and KU had 22 defensive rebounds, Stanford had 8 offensive boards. Def reb % of 73. That's acceptable, pretty much average.
Kenpom #208 UMKC. Just looking at box scores they don't appear great considering their opposition and they are 6-3 (only loss they should have if good is Creighton). Should be a laugher but you never know I suppose.
Nugget from that interview
What was your favorite part of the recruiting process?
Talking to Bill Self.
STUD!
Uplift lost by 15. The Jacobs brothers had solid games though.

Here is the Lattin flop for everyone's viewing pleasure.
Arizona just doesn't have the horses due to injuries, ineligibility etc...
I suppose it could mess with statistic stuff, but we know what's up.
For sure, I'm just so off of it now. Putting it to rest. Should have a nice easy game up next against the Roos.
Last post about the refs in this game I promise....
Reid was literally doing lots of the same stuff Lucas was being called for just about every time before he got the ball. It was a foul on Lucas frequently, but never on Reid. Totally friggin bogus and skewed this game even though the good guys won it going away.
We'd be dead.
This made me laugh pretty good just noticed it.
Should have had a little graphic counter for how many times the broadcasters said floor burns. Bet it was over 25.
Xavier did almost lose to Missouri so we know they have garbage level game in em.
Walk-on quality should improve next year (another Teahan). But yeah, Self knows it and definitely won't put those guys in there too early.
Revengeance complete.
Had to get Svi some buckets too.
All these crap calls and still a blowout.

Realistic choices these are not bad. Given anyone, Brad Stevens would be at the top of my wishlist.
I'm confused by the refs
Baffling
good grief refs
Maybe that's what the NCAA wants? Soooooo frustrating
