@globaljaybird Almost in the state of Misery. Northwest Arkansas.
@tundrahok I don't know. I was trying to listen to the 610 radio broadcast from down in Arkansas (not real clear). Accomodating a change to a shooting team like HEM post has been discussing?
11 have played in the first half. Don't know if that tells us anything about what the rest of the season.
@tundrahok Yes. Mickelson and Greene both started.
50% from the field and 44% from 3 with Greene leading the way at 3/3 from 3.
Better late than never...anyone on?
Interesting starting line up.
Well. Great Run.
Need a comeback here
Our uniforms are much nicer.
Got #1
@Kubie I got to look into that.
@jaybate-1.0 What I believe you need to show, or spell out in crayons for my sort, is if there is a correlation between college shoe contract and what a player could do when going pro? I'm not sure there has to be a strong correlation and relationship, because the contract is more with the school than the player until they reach the Pro's. Perhaps it's foot in the door???
@drgnslayr Love it...Reflexology of the eyes...do we press those sections of our eyes to improve our overall health, especially when we're going through those moments in a game where we just can't stand what we're seeing?
@Lulufulu Can you imagine the additional chaos that having a healthy Colby would add to the Big mess, I mean discussion.
@KansasComet in other words @HighEliteMajor is JUST like Coach Self.
Even in a win Coach Self finds areas for improvement. Shoot lights out from 3 and blow a team out by 20-30, "we let them score too much."
It's called striving for excellence. Yes it's frustrating for people who do not care to put their shoulder to the plow themselves and those who think good enough is good enough. It's not hate. It's not "fire the coach". It's drive to excel to new heights. I believe HEM has even stated he's a big supporter of Selfs High Low...there's no reason for him to break that down, it's the given. Focus on areas of adjustment and improvement. It's called striving for excellence.
HEM is not like that. Coach Self is not like that. Like others, HEM's breakdown, and those like his, are why I come to this site. He's not calling for CS's job like @AsadZ.
I find it great that the types of criticism that have arisen on this site broke out into the streets - "radio" Coach call-in show. Self addressed it with lineup change and the team hummed along. Last night had its ugly moments, but we played a way, and with personnel that have been called out here, and absolutely rocked the 2nd half.
If folks don't like that type of analysis skip HEM's posts. If you don't like @jaybate-1.0's style of posts, then skip those. I find that both bring something to the table that help me appreciate the game, the games within the game, and the general social sphere we call college men's basketball.
Thanks to those who take the analysis to another level.

Signed up solely to say that between Phog.net, this place, and the pre-exodus KUSports, HEM's opinion is the one I seek out most of all after games. It's all a question of opinion, of course, but for me, he walks the line between the camps of blindly following Self and blindly hating Self that seem to have swallowed a great deal of our online fanbase. If people put half of the effort that he does into factually backing up their posts, I might never get anything else done besides reading these forums. As it stands, 90% of the content of these boards is shooting from the hip, gut reactions. As I said, it's all a question of opinion, but for me, if HEM took some people's advice and put less effort into his posts, it would be a huge loss to our online haunts.
Double Amen.
I still can't put my finger on what all the muddle was in the first half other than they shot ridiculously well and we played a lot of people and no one seemed to be able to really stop it defensively nor get us out of a rut offensively other than a few short runs.
@brooksmd They're showing 2 Blocks 1 Steal...did he have more...I think he got two blocks just before they all came out on one possession, but OSU scored anyway. I just don't know if he had any before hand. I thought he had 1 previously.

If it ain't broke...don't fix it...
So the main change was Mickelson...looking at his stat line, he filled up all the categories with something...not the highest in any of them but I think that speaks to his "energy". I like his type of energy, it meets the eye test and the stat test.
3/5 (0-1) 7 pts (1/1 FT) 6 RB, 1 Assist, 2 Blocks, 1 steal. On the negative side 1 TO and 3 PF.
Yes he has some breakdowns, but more than the other bigs at this point, he seems at times to recover from some of those and redeems them. (Not in the instance of the 4 point play the other night).
@DanR Whole lot of others didn't get to play either in 2nd.
Have we found our primary rotation?
Oregon St scores 28 in the 2nd...
We pressed, and they came down from some ridiculously high shooting %'s in the 2nd.
Hunter 2 blocks there but to naught.
57% from FT and falling
OSU down to 50% from 3pt,
KU up to nearly 44%
How was that body on Hunter not a foul...Mick was out of the play there.
Love the 3 pt by Seldon
Payton is playing a little dirty there.
We need to pick up energy again.
Payton getting whistles...
Perry Ellis and Hunter Mickelson 6 RB each
Have we found our rotation?
Graham gets a good 3 pt shot and hits it.
Another O RB for Bragg
Offensive foul? If so, #4.
Bragg makes it happen there.
Need to get a zone O going ...that wasn't very pretty otherwise.
@DanR Be interesting to see how it goes now that we're subbing.
@jaybate-1.0 I'll be interested to hear what exactly the adjustment was. We've hit more of our 3's 3/4..
@jaybate-1.0 said:
How do u spell OFFENSIVE ADJUSTMENTS at half??
Self tell them to start hitting their shots now?
That bounce pass in traffic across the lane...surprised that got through but wow for the CB dunk.
@jaybate-1.0 said:
Mick taking treys ?
He apparently was doing that at AR....not sure that's what we need though, huh?
Push off...no way announcer
For the record, the press is helping! They broke it once but we haven't backed it off completely. Like that.
Love that we full court pressed all 5 there even after we've gone up!
@tundrahok Yep
Up to 44% 3Pt...
Need stops
nice challenge by Hunter and then rebound by PE.
