@Big-Clyde52

A couple of the fouls were BS. Devoe did the exact same thing agains Graham and both fouls were called against Devonte.

If I recall correctly, Svi needed 1 3-pointer to tie the KU season high and he had one. New record from here on.

Refs call fouls when the KU player breathes on the Clemson player but Thomas is constantly putting his arm on the head of a Doke and Silvio and no effin’ call.

@mayjay

Exactly. The Houston players stayed until Michigan did the celebration and even mingled with the players; there is even a viral photo of a Michigan player consoling a Houston player. The Loyola players did quite a bit of celebrating after every game, even wheeling Sister Jean to the court, and the other teams waited. The UK players felt they were beaten by an inferior team and I get they were embarrassed, as their faces showed walking on the hallway, but it is no excuse to leave the court early; it was disrespectful.

@JayHawkFanToo there's only one line. Celebrate in the locker room.

Celebrate in the locked room and not on the court right after arguably the biggest win the program has had in at least the last 30 years? You are kidding, right?

Not a single of the underdogs has done this so far and the losing teams waited for them. Sportsmanship.

Who are your top candidates to replace Beaty? • Mar 23, 2018 06:43 PM

@Kcmatt7

You are absolutely correct, I just did not remember the name looked it up, came up Heupel and forgot that Frost went to Nebraska. Thankful there are posters with better memory than mine. :smile:

Not quite in a football mindset in March....perhaps in September?

@Crimsonorblue22

Again, to be clear, they shook hands with the "staff" and left the court before the KSU players returned to the sideline to shake hands...to me, they just wanted to get out of there and not wait for the KSU players that just handed them their rear ends and thus avoided the handshake line with the "players." KSU players noticed and Cal had to clarify it...why would they all address it if it was not an issue?

Perhaps my memory is not that good anymore and you remember a time when the KU team did this after a loss other than when the court was stormed by fans? I cannot.

Agree to disagree?

How about Josh Heupel from UCF? He has a good pedigree and was 13-0 in his first season as HC at UCF.

I know a fairly decent number of KSU fans (close to my age) and most are not that different than KU fans and they would be cheering for KU if it advances farther than KSU. Perhaps the older fans are more reasonable than the younger ones or current students?

I understand that a good number of fans that fill Bramlage are idiots but again, most KSU fans I know have as much problem with them as we do and they really dislike the F KU chant that they consider to be an embarrassment to the school.

@mayjay

What is the line on the number of buffers... :smile:

@Crimsonorblue22

To be clear, they shook hands with the staff not the players. Traditionally the losing team waits for the celebration right after the game and shakes hands with the winning team; UK players exited the court by the time KSU players returned to the sideline. It was obvious enough that players noticed it and Calipari was forced to clarify that no disrespect was intended. I don't believe I have ever seen KU leave the court without shaking hands, even after a loss, unless fans rushed the court and it was unsafe to stay (Bramlege).

@jaybate-1.0

You really should read up before posting. The name in the front of the building was left intact but the building itself was renamed Budig Hall in honor of the the Chancellor that was instrumental in getting the $23M needed for the rebuild.

As far as not being State-of-the-Art and as you wrote...

"really just comprised of several large lecture halls behind the old facade, plus a few smaller ones, too, right? Yea. Nothing much state of the art about large lecture halls. "

Refer to this snippet about the project.

When guests arrived for Budig Hall’s official dedication on October 31, 1997, KU Chancellor Robert Hemenway welcomed them to an entirely different facility, one that employed state-of-the-art educational and multimedia technology. According to the KU News Bureau, Budig Hall contained “one 1,000-seat and two 500-seat lecture halls, or auditoria. Each is equipped with three 10-by-14-foot video screens, upon which images from a variety of sources, such as the Internet, video or film, satellite link, laserdisc and 35 mm slide, can be projected.” And for science experiments, each room had “a covered floor trench [that] provides water, electricity, compressed air and drainage.” In addition to two underground floors devoted to library holdings, students could use Budig’s new 125-station computer laboratory and attend classes in, what was now, the University’s largest classroom structure.

One could not but be impressed by the building’s high-tech, “Star Wars” interior, as the Topeka Capital-Journal described it. The University’s assistant provost, Richard Givens, told the paper “KU is one of the only universities in the country to have a facility like Budig Hall. Other schools also use the latest technology, but not to KU’s extent.” Back in August, the Kansan had reported that “the first days of classes” in Budig “left students and faculty in awe.” But the building’s exterior was equally remarkable, particularly because the architects were able to preserve Hoch’s gothic, limestone façade while incorporating flying-buttress-like glass atria on the east and west sides. It was a pleasing fusion of disparate architectural styles.

Even 20 yeas later seems pretty State-of-the-Art to me.

Some posters like the sound of their own keyboards and will not bother to let facts get in the way of the narrative.

It was UK that avoided the handshake line and not KSU according to ESPN ↗, SEC Country ↗, Sports Illustrated ↗ and just about every other publication that watched the game. SMH.

I guess for having “mediocre” players, KSU is doing remarkably well. Fourth place in the top ranked conference and now in the Elite 8 with a good chance to make the Final Four. I bet lots of teams loaded with superstars and watching the games from home wish the they could do half as well.

I read a few of the threads on the UK forum and sounds like the vast majority of posters/fans are tired of the OADs and Cal’s system that benefits a few players and makes Cal look good on draft night but the fans get screwed in the process. I can understand their frustration.
