@Jesse Newell Sure, I'll take under 65.5. I do need to warn you if we happen to play UNC in the NCAA tourney, it will be a lock for me. LOL. Ole Roy has yet another team that can't shoot straight from the free throw line this year.
Just a thought: Can Oubre play the #2? Turner, Alexander, Perry, Oubre, Naadir next year. That would be a big, gnarly crew.
@Kip_McSmithers Ding, ding, ding. We have a winner here. We aren't 'lucky", we are fouling the right people. Mr. Newell, lucky would've been Frank staying in front of the Colorado guy as he launched the prayer. We can be characterized in lots of different ways, but lucky wouldn't be an adjective that comes to mind for me.
@jaybate 1.0 When I saw they brought Norm back, I said to myself, "self, we're going to start landing top recruits again".
@Kip_McSmithers Bleacher Report is trying to sell advertising. They write articles with provocative titles that aren't worth a plug nickel for content.
@jaybate 1.0 Why didn't he ever do that with TROB and the Morii? Starting those three would've caused earthquakes. The intimidation factor of that front line would've been a sight to see.
I think Coach could try that lineup if Wigs or Selden need a break, or get into foul trouble. Perry can hit the jumper from the foul line, and be a better offensive weapon. I'm all for it.
@HighEliteMajor Good stuff. Our point guard tandem has been shooting less, which should help our 3 point fg %. I am really excited seeing Frank/Naadir taking less than 10 shots a game combined each of the last two games. Better shot selection should be a natural result of this team evolving . I'm betting we shoot more threes, with a higher fg% over our next 10 games. Me likey this team.
I'm not a big fan of RPI. Last year it ranked the MWC as the 2nd best conference, ahead of the Big Ten and the Big 12 among others. It had New Mexico in the top 5, and we can see what the Lobos, along with the entire MWC teams did last year in the tourney ( not one of their teams made it past the first weekend, and only one made it to the 2nd game). I prefer Kenpom any day of the week. Kenpom has the following rankings ( as of today):
Okie St - #3
KU - #6
Iowa St - #15
Baylor - #36
OU - #56
TU - #57
WVU - #68
The Big 12 has 3 teams in the top 15 of Kenpom. Challenging for some, but we're KU. Okie St is going to be a load, until I look up Travis Ford's coaching career, and I feel better. Iowa State is always tough, but we're tougher.
If you had asked me preseason if I would be happy beating New Mexico by 17, followed by pounding G-town by 24, I would've been ecstatic. I don't think that was a two game blip. I think it's the start of a breakout.
