@ TCU is a game that cannot be overlooked of all games. TCU went to WVU and lost in OT.

Is meeting the President a better motivation for the next game than a film session of T Rob playing Texas the day after his family lost?
@jaybate-1.0 Thanks. Could only dream of Kelly stays another year. RCJH!
I have been wondering a lot about Wigs and KO, so, I dug back into last year's first 5 B12 Games and tallied Wigs' stats. I put KO's 1st 5 B12 games side by side. I hope to read more insights from the great posters on this site.

@jayballer54 I hope you are right. I tend to think this year haul will be good as well. What does a high school prospect looks at at this point of the season? I believe is whether a freshman got to start or play rotational minutes. In our case, although it may be taken a bit longer than Wigs and Jojo, all excepts Svi are playing good minutes for a Blue Blood school with a lot of national TV exposure. So, why not? RCJH!
Not to sound irrationally optimistic, but, statistically we are due for a game like you said. RCJH!

Assuming that it will be a close game on Saturday:
We have experience in winning close true away games:
Georgetown (75-70)
Baylor (56-55)
But, we also can get blown away in true away game:
Temple (77-52)
Hope the Georgetown KU Team shows up!

We have an extra day than them. Will an extra day of rest and extra practice session with our Scout Team makes the difference?
They are experienced bunch and it is their house and big time national TV.
@Blown If we look at their line up, i think they play mainly 6 guys and the 7th is not really rotation minutes. Therefore, I like our Options we can have at 1/2, 3, and 4/5. We have 2 viable options for 1/2 (Mason/Seldon and Mason/Graham), we have a solid 3 in KO and BG and Svi as good back ups, we have Traylor/Ellis, Traylor/Cliff and Cliff/Ellis at the 4/5. We can throw many things at them but they can't. RCJH!
@Blown Oakville is still posting at "The Other Site". I remembered posters here ever urged Oakville to contribute at KUBuckets. To date, he has not posted any.
@cragarhawk Like our beloved Team, it is defined by its key players. Likewise, for KUBuckets or "The Other Site", they are also defined by their key posters. Without being names specific, I am sure we all know the difference. RCJH!
@cragarhawk All the well intended goals actually take place here at KUBuckets. JMHO!
@VailHawk Talk about the old site, it is sad to see what is happening there now. I remembered one of the reasons to have every users using their real names was meant to create meaningful, insightful and responsible KU basketball postings. If you cross over to the site now, on the topic about "Jayhawks go wild over Garrettβs goal", i saw a religious debate in the postings.

@Crimsonorblue22 I sure hope so. Freshman dueling Senior. I think the 2 small guards duel is key. If the small guards duel is a tie, then, the Duel at 3 will be key to win. Sure hope Oubre KO Nash. RCJH!
@REHawk Hope to see the Battle of Small Guards. I think whichever combo (Mason/Graham or Forte/Hickey) that has the better Assist and TO shall prevail. I am pretty sure our small guards will outdo them in REB column. It would be fun. RCJH!

Who would have thought after today, there are only two undefeated teams in Big 12 and none name Texas. And, who would have thought a week ago, we will be the highest rank Big 12 team heading into Okst game next week. Wow!
While all of us are excited about our newly acquired Bragging right, can the great BBall posters of KUbuckets share some thoughts about what the team should get out from the TTU game; especially on what Ellis, Seldon and Svi should do to improve their coming games. Thanks. RCJH
@Crimsonorblue22 Agreed. A bit like us. But, not the talent level on paper. Don't think we can overlook them.

Interesting matchup tonight, I think they play two small guards (which was our plan until Devonte got injured). I am wondering if our transition game will work well there. My take is if we get near 1/3 of our points from transition, our chance to win is pretty good. RCJH.

@REHawk Thanks. Agreed with the flu thing. I will make a point to check those numbers again prior to the Big Dance. I suspect the conclusion will either make Mr. Bragg regrets or happy. Happy if he chooses KU!
Something for Mr Bragg: "What is more than Playing Time?"
Before todayβs game and a few games before that, KOβs playing time was under the microscope of the media. I think, today best illustrated what HCBS does here at KU. He develops players according to his system. And, when the two similar 5 Stars Mickey Ds met, the better prepared prevailed.
Yes. I think some can also say something about the UK game. But, in all fairness to HCBS, he hasnβt got enough time to work his magic with the team yet. And, UK has the benefits of overseas games prior.
My point here is Playing Times is important. But, Development Times is also important.
It would be fun to revisit the following numbers when the season is over.
If I am a KU recruit, I will look at how a Talent is developed at KU to affect the W-L inclusive of the performance at the Big Dance.

I would like to take a moment here to thank the creator of this wonderful site and the posting culture that collectively fostered by the posters here. Just visited the other site on this same subject. OMG, all the bitter bickerings just turned me off. Cheers to Kubuckets!
Ha ha! Don't think you were all that wrong. Who would have guessed four of the guys decided to show up. I can only expect Mason shows up every game. Wayne showed up early was good. If CA were to make those misses, it would have been a rout.
Nice take!
Maybe we are still trying to find our New Way to be Successful. I think last year we planned to build our team around a 3 (Wigs). But, as the season developed, we realized that we could build our team around Embiid. I am wondering if HCBS is still evaluating this year on who he should build his team around, a 3 (KO) or a 4.5 (CA). I think when his mind is set, a new Team will emerge and we will live or die with it. It may takes a bit longer this year due to inconsistency.
I am not sure if my observation is correct, i think Timberwolves is clearly building a Team around Wigs and with all the resources a NBA team has, we have lately seen a more consistent Wigs (Shooting % and Production). It took MIN about 30 games to do that.
Given the same criterias, we are 12 games in and we have 2 Options (KO and CA), I sure hope 1 of the 2 will emerge. The level of talents is not like Wigs and Embiid; so, it maybe time consuming for HCBS to do his job this time round. RCJH!
B12 is 10 Teams BTW, 6/10 is pretty solid.
@KUSTEVE I agreed. As you said in other post, Devonte makes Frank a better player. I also think that Devonte makes Frank a better PG. When a true PG is doing his things, a good ball handling G likes Frank can sure feed on those things.
Maybe "Missing Devonte" was responsible. Take nothing away from Mason who was working hard to create his own shots in a night where most of his team mates seem to have disappeared. Maybe, the option of playing small was the missing part in term of matchup for that game. Maybe while Mason was driving we need a true PG to read the floor and send the ball to the next guy who is available at the best place and time to score.
Maybe HCBS saw UNLV looming at a home date and need a wake up call for his team before they feel too good about themselves.
