LaGerald Vick reclassifying to the class of 15 would be huge for KU. Getting a very versatile scorer who would certainly make a huge impact

kubball LaGerald Vick seems to be a real find this late in the game. If he reclassifies, he could add some zip to the KU offense at times.

@Statmachine and he is not an OAD so we got him for a few years!

Graham and Mason's rankings shot up when HCBS was on their tail to sign with KU. Both turned out to be really nice Freshmen. Both averaged 5pts and 2 assists. Does anyone think Vick will average those kind of numbers playing 16-17 minutes as a Freshman?

@HighEliteMajor I know that Vick will probably not take a huge chunk of minutes from our current rotation BUT do you still believe that he is not a quality player? You had posted this somewhere else "(Mack, Vick, Eubanks) None of these guys are that quality." I am not trying to be condescending BUT I am wondering if you were down on Vick because of his low ranking initially? I see you are stoked to have him for depth but is that all? I have to admit that I was concerned that he could be another Anrio Adams or Milton Doyle. Last minute signing like every year when we have scholarships left. Now that his ranking has exploded there is a lot more excitement revolving around his reclassification me included. I mean I was excited before BUT not as much as I have been since this weekend where he dominated the class of 2016!

@ajvan There is an interesting PG on KU's radar. 2016 PG Jaylen Fisher Team Thad. He plays on the same team as Vick and has KU listed as a school he is considering BUT KU has not made an offer yet that I know of? He is not an OAD type so he might come in and play with Vick and learn the system behind Mason and Graham? Stranger things have happened so who knows?

Bill Self says that LaGerald Vick has completed all necessary work and will likely be reclassifying to join this year's recruiting class.

@drgnslayr I think the info on these top recruits twitter and fb is pretty telling. For example the only pictures and videos on Marques Bolden personal web space is ALL KU stuff. He has been to late night and 2 KU games last year most of which is posted on his twitter account. I haven't sifted through the people he follows to see how many KU guys he follows but that's next.

Then you have guys like Kobi Simmons who you might as well mark off the KU list. After spending 10 minutes on his Twitter handle its easy to see who he is interested in. Unless UK signs a higher rated PG he is UK bound end of story.

I believe these kids also go where the fans are showing the most love. Cheick was getting love from KU the whole time and he could have went anywhere. I would have to think fans factor into where these guys land but I am not sure how much?

I believe I will start with the six players that visited Late Night last year.

Jayson Tatum (plays ball on the same team as Tyler Cook)

Malik Monk (Tons of Arkansas Razorbacks chatter out there)

Kobi Simmons (More Pictures of him posing with UK players and Cal than any other guy I have looked in to). His twitter handle is littered with UK paraphernalia and no KU stuff.

Marques Bolden (He is big on KU) I will do some more work with this guy later on this week.

Schnider Herard (up in the air on this guy atm)

Tyler Cook (cut KU from his final 6)

I have spent the evening on my super secret accounts getting ready for next years recruiting. I am getting to know some of the guys HCBS is after for 2016 and 2017. Its very interesting how these so called recruiting guys or web sites get their information? I have checked into it and for example one of the biggest recruiting sites known to man is composed of 4 guys to do recruiting and one talent evaluator. HOW can 5 guys evaluate and figure out where hundreds of kids are going to commit and where they rank amongst each other with ANY accuracy? How many times can one guy see hundreds of kids play individually?

I did get a better understanding of what these young men are all about and will continue to follow up on their recruitment daily and give you guys some actual information as it becomes available to me. I am only one guy and only follow who KU is after and a few guys climbing the boards like new guys and such. Guys that will most likely become household names by summers end. Now I'm getting tired but the evening was good and I made some new contacts. I did manage to get some new info on some of them and that was good. Nothing other than yeah I like Kansas, UK, Duke, and NC mixed with a few others. Nothing stands out EXCEPT UK is mentioned more times than all other schools combined. I will post all of my findings on this particular blog for the next few weeks unless I get some really good stuff on someone specific.

I am curious HEM do you still think if he stays in the 2016 class he will not come to KU? I think he would be stupid to come to the 2015 class personally. IF he stays in the 2016 class he comes out of HS with a borderline 5 star ranking and we COULD lose either selden, or Svi? He probably wouldn't have to be a back up next year but more of a role player. I want him this year as do we all BUT I think he would do him self a favor by sticking with the 2016 class and playing the hs basketball circuit and possibly a few all star games next spring if he works hard this summer? I don't think the WUG would increase his draft stock like a 5 star ESPN ranking due to more exposure over the summer?

According to the scouts in attendance this weekend in NY at the UAA tournament if he were to stay in the 2016 class he would be a borderline 5 star. He was one of 4 guys mentioned that played well above their ranking. I have been sifting through twitter on my ghost accounts sniffing around. He apparently has everything he needs to make the switch to the 2015 class but wants the exposure he is getting atm. I cant blame him for wanting to try to move up on the big boards.

It was some logo I am not familiar with BUT my answer was GREAT! I said "Snorting coke off a clowns boner". This is a good read or at least I enjoyed it. It gives me the impression that he could turn out like Graham and Mason. As far as being under rated and under recruited.

Since he is not sure weather or not he is reclassifying he is doing the AAU camps atm. He is lighting it up like nobody's business and I wanted to share a few tweets with yall.

@Texas-Hawk-10 Coach Self said he wouldn't bring a guard from another school IF he signed another guard. My take on it is HCBS knows Vick will not be joining KU for the WUG so he needed another guy.

With all of this pro KU stuff on Twitter and other media outlets I would say KU is the only real player in Paschal Chukwu's recruitment. There is little to no talk of any other possible destinations and he was released from the Providence Friars a few days ago. If KU had a contender in this recruitment it would have been posted by now. I think he will be a Jayhawk soon.

If I had to guess this means Vick will be in the 2016 class.
