Are you sure it wasn't the fact that basketball players don't lift weights over seas? Or could it have been that he was only 17? I think he had been in numerous big games and even played professionally over seas so I completely doubt it was nerves! I believe nearly every 3pt attempt was long and he was unable to adjust to his newly found strength due to being in the weight room. Superstitiously they believe that lifting weights messes with your shot where Svi comes from! I am 100% sure without a shadow of a doubt that it was superstition/weight training > culture shock/nerves!
@Texas-Hawk-10 HCBS said that Embiid would take 2 years to go #1 in the draft. Diallo is more polished as a freshman than Embiid ever could have dreamt of. I think Diallo could be more productive in college than Embiid was. Its possible and even though we can see Embiid as a NBA all star at some point I have a gut feeling Diallo can show him up as a freshman at KU. Until the season is over you will not be able to convince me otherwise so your rebuttal is a mute point!

@drgnslayr My question is, If you are on the basketball team and room with the team and the team stays in the NEW team housing HOW much would a walk on have to pay to stay there? Wouldn't a guy that is forced to stay with the team get a reduced rate?

You don't have Svi as a possible early departure? Frank has been asked about the possibility of leaving after next year as well. Depending on how well the season goes he could opt to throw his name in the draft hat.

Landon Lucas is in a good position to stay with Ellis, Traylor, Mickelson, and more than likely Cheick leaving next year. Lucas is not a flight risk due to the possibility at this time to get big minutes next year.
Ellis not a flight risk.

Mickelson is the ONLY guy I could see transferring due to being stuck behind Cheick, Ellis, Traylor, Lucas, and Bragg. Probably in that order. He is a senior that has burnt his RS and the only saving grace is he should be able to finish up his course work this summer and transfer.

@EdwordL I am not sure what's going on but whatever it is HCBS isn't exactly going public with it just yet. I think Hunter wants to play and I just don't see that happening for him with our current roster. There has to be something going on behind the scenes? He transferred to KU assuming it was his best shot at making it. Not a bad move on his part BUT he has yet to crack the rotation. I honestly don't think this 7"2 center would even be on campus if there wasn't a scholarship offer potentially on the table. I think Hunter will transfer this summer. He is too talented to ride the pine and could easily start somewhere else.

Basketball Recruiting - LeGerald Vick - Now in the 100 for 2015 with an Evaluation.
Biancardi has Vick at 51 on his board for ESPN. More exposure over the summer might have put him even higher?
@jaybate-1.0 Exposure is key to moving up the ranks. There is generally one guy for each rankings system out there and if you haven't played in front of that guy much then he can not accurately rank you. That's also why he has moved up on some boards but not others.
Matt Scott from 247 sports and the shiver says he will pay for his first year of school. IF it were me it would be hard to walk on at KU over a free ride with Izzo. However HCBS has put more bigs in the NBA in the recent past. I would think NBA track record vs free tuition would be an extremely hard decision at 19 years old!
I did get some confirmation that HCBS is still interested and Chukwu is on campus. I am not sure how he is going to pull this off but he must have some angle he is using?

If I were a betting man I would put my money on Paschal Chukwu to Michigan State.
Looking at previous transfers and how HCBS handles business I would think Hunter and Self have had the talk. I would think Hunter will talk to HCBS again and decide after he gets to play in the WUG. That makes the most sense to me.
I have read a post or 2 out there in the twittersphere that Mickelson has enough credits to graduate and knows that he is not going to get big minutes at KU. I have checked with my crystal ball and called the psychic hot line. What I found was that he is the only possible transfer option as a graduate with one year of eligibility remaining. Using a touch of common sense and a bit of logic I would have to say that he would want to have a bigger role and chance to showcase his talents on another team.
@HighEliteMajor Don't forget about the over seas trip next summer. Another head start opportunity next summer also.
When Michigan men’s basketball Austin Hatch took a medical red shirt it opened up a scholarship to recruit a top 10 OAD. If Brannen Greene takes a medical red shirt does it open up a scholarship for KU?
My take on the situation is that Vick's jump in the rankings makes things complicated. IF he plays above his current ranking all summer he could potentially increase his value. Being able to put that you were a McDonald's all American on your resume changes things. Im not saying that he will make the cut or that he could increase his ranking any more than he already has BUT his family is surely aware that he could play his way into some of the games next April. More exposure could equal more money in the long run? I think he stays in the 2016 class.

Every guy knows a guy with the "one-upper" personality trait. You know who I am talking about. If you have a pimple, they have had one chronicled in the New England Journal of Medicine. If your kid made the game winning basket in the final game of the season, their's has already been contacted by NBA talent scouts. Why do we even tell them stories or engage them knowing that the second we start speaking we can see the wheels of embellishment turning in their head? Ninety nine times out of one hundred they just cut us off mid-sentence to tell the story of of their importance to the universe. We, the non-one-uppers, tolerate them because we feel bad for them. We inherently know that no matter how aggravating or how rude their actions are, they are the actions of a very insecure person. So we ignore them, we avoid them, or we just let them finish and then we move on to something productive.
I am in the middle of writing a book and having some writers block. I could use a few good one-upper stories from a fresh untapped source. If you are not familiar with what a one-upper is here is what the urban dictionary has to say about them. The One Upper as an annoying person who responds to hearing someone else’s experience or problem by immediately telling a similar story about themselves with a much more fantastic (or terrible) outcome.
