@REHawk I'm thinking, with his motor HCBS will keep him on the floor unlike Cliff who had issues with putting out max effort each play. I am ready to see this kid in action and also waiting to see what the other guys on the team say after they have played a few pick up games with Diallo.
Makes me wonder about the whole Shoe company thing. Do you think if he was a Nike lean he would be ranked #1 in the 2015 class?

Cheick Diallo 6'10 - PF - Kansas
A world class athlete among world class athletes. He is literally shot out of a cannon running up and down the floor. He runs the floor better than any player that I can recall. He is not super skilled but he is graceful and he knows how to finish. He rebounds like Dennis Rodman and he could be that type of player. To say he is an effort player would be discounting the effect that he can have on a game. If there is loose ball he will get it, if there is a fast break he will be the first guy down the floor, get sloppy with the ball and he will take it from you. You don't have to run any plays for him and he will still find a way to get 20 & 10 with offensive rebounds and run outs.

@DoubleDD The WUG is going to help so much! Getting in a solid month of reps plus ALL of the practices we normally get leading up to the start of the season is a HUGE blessing and should have our newcomers up to speed well before conference play! Throw in a few set plays HCBS is dreaming up in preparation for the 24 second shot clock should be useful too! I cant wait for the season to start!
@DoubleDD I am Just happy we have 3 McDonalds all Americans in our front court with quality/experienced depth! Our guard situation is solid so no matter how the season shakes out KU will likely be a 1 seed going into the tournament. Lets hope everyone stays healthy and cross our fingers for at least a final four run! The End

@drgnslayr Cliffs moma moved close to KU to be with her son. Now I don't know if she had a 9to5 but If I were a betting man I would bet she did not have a JOB during her short stay. Who do you think paid for that?
@Crimsonorblue22 No I haven't seen the new baby, but I bet that wasn't his fault either? Sorry guys I just think Cliff's attitude and behavior is pretty poor for someone that has been blessed like he has.
@justanotherfan She might as well be his agent or runner. She is already cashing in on his earnings. He had a full ride, food, stipends, housing, clothes, etc. Who benefited most from the loan that was taken out on his future earnings? AND if I posted the things he has on FB, twitter, and conducted myself during interviews the way he has my mom would kick my butt! Its just my view on the situation harsh or not.

Cliffs biggest problem was he didn't want to take any responsibility for his actions and he was a mamas boy! I bet his mom interfered with his relationship with HCBS and held him back more than anything. I remember how much HCBS talked about the Morris twins mom and how she stayed in KS to help Robinson with his sister his last year at KU. I never heard Self talk about Cliffs mom once?
As a coach you don't need any outside influences conflicting what you are trying to instill in the kids you are trying to make men out of! I believe the reason Cliffs minutes were minimal is because HCBS had more than he could stand from Cliff and his mom. She will be the reason he never makes in in the NBA. She has already done plenty of damage but I don't think she is done! Moms that continually make excuses for their children produce piss poor adults that usually end up behind bars or dead!

It will be nice to have Embiid, Wiggins, and possibly Diallo (future all stars) to sit down in front of future recruits and boast about how great KU is. These guys will be someone these kids will be talking about and looking up to in a few years. I can only imagine the kind of impact these guys could have helping out with recruiting. Embiid already spoon fed Diallo this year and is already impacting our ability to land top recruits! Its been a long gap since we had a super star come through KU and when their NBA path is done they will probably come back and coach like Manning did. I will take the hand HCBS has dealt us all day long!

I know we were having all kinds of discussion about how we needed Schepherd? If we could have a redo would we really want Schepherd or the guys HCBS has landed?
I will take our guys any day even without seeing what Diallo can do at the college level!
Watch the highlights again and focus on Mickelson. 0 effort! Doesn't make plays on the ball when he should and skips down the court. I cant see him seeing the court this year period!

Oh I was under the impression that scoring points was offense? Scoring a lot of points meant you were good offensively? Doesn't it take skill to score a lot of points per game? I guess I must be wrong? My bad
If you have ever had a child in soccer at age 4 or so? You see a BUNCH of kids huddled around the soccer ball. Cheick always has him self in the right spots and in a position to score (around the ball) due to effort and hustle but how is that not offensive effort?
Just because someone was a PG until their senior year does not make one vastly superior offensively! They may have better handles but vastly superior offensively no!
In this video Cheick has some assists, some great outlet passes, puts the ball on the floor, creats his own shot, and posterizes some High school punks!

So how exactly does one score 26 pts and get 11 boards in 20 minutes against the best competition in the country if they are not a highly skilled offensive player? He also went 12-16 in fg's I would say that's pretty efficient. I am just curious?
@Texas-Hawk-10 Sophomore Robinson had to play behind the Morris twins. Who is going to start over Cheick after November? He is closer to Freshman Anthony Davis than Sophomore Robinson!

These guys are doing some work! Everything I have read is that they are having 2hr team practices, strength/conditioning, and individual workouts daily! They are going to be busy for the next month!
