Good way to play. Waste no time on offense.. work on the D.
we are scoring quickly.
Efficient as always
Joe is experienced. Not so bad.
Medical redshirt for Self
Howard is playing faux physical ... they wanna be physical, but they aren't comfortable with it.
Grady is sped up.
Good hustle by Grady. The freshman will wake up
Drive Drive Drive. All day. And foul them out
Wasted TO
Is Kevin playing?
Self might as well be serving a post-season ban.
I hope we get a chance to play that 3rd round game --whether UConn or not. Generally, I think a week to prep gives a slight advantage to us over almost any opponent. The 2nd round game is the pivotal game in my mind. It was a very close game last year as well. Could have gone either way. Once we got past Creighton, confidence flowed.
I got 15 out of 25. Missed a bunch of head smackers.
I think the starting five play varying levels of D from elite to decent (Kev, Juan, KJ, Jalen, Grady). The bench does not have a great defender. It might have a decent defender and the rest are fair to inexperienced. When we have 2-3 from the bench in the game, our defense suffers significantly.

Thank you NCAA Committee for being soooo...... balanced — er — consistent?

I think the easiest paths to at least the E8 are two #2 seeds - Texas and Arizona...
Partly because they are both excellent teams. The elite 8 has a chance to be a selection of amazing games.

Gonzaga doesn’t play much defense so KU should score and run with them.
Agree with everything you said except this one point about Gonzaga who can lock down when they want to. Gonzaga is under the radar. Perfect position for a well coached, veteran and athletic team.
Used to be all about Quad 1 wins and SoS. This year, it's about who's injured, who's coaching, and Quad 1 & 2 wins vs losses and how big the losses were.
The criteria that the committee use is completely selective from year to year
jobbed
We are fragile because we need to have some success from 3 to open up our offense. If the guys can find their shot from deep in March, we can make a run. If not, it will be an early exit.
this was much harder than I thought.. I could see guys, but couldn't get the names to come to mind. Very frustrating mental blocks.
Then I looked at the years where I had the big blocks and it was the years where there was a disappointing loss in the tournament.. Very interesting.
Couldn't come up with Xavier Henry, Cole Aldrich or the Morris Twins...

Bottom line? You can maybe play like that for about 5 min in the first round. After that you go home. I hate the gassed/tired narrative with a passion. I was 20... I wasn't tired
I hate that narrative too. Both teams had to play 3 games in 3 days.
Nevertheless, shots were short all day. Jumps were not as high. Guys got beat. Balls were fumbled and went through hands. They had a hard time just getting open for passes.
If not physically, then mentally, they were not sharp today. Not sure why— maybe it was the unusual lineups. Maybe coaching. Maybe it was Texas.
The latter is the hardest to stomach. But 3 weeks from today, if they are talking about their next game on Monday, then today’s result will be a bit easier to understand.
I’m sure I’m not the only one who had the thought about halfway through the second half “I hope Bill Self isn’t watching this because if he didn’t have a heart attack before, he might have one now.”
This game left a bad taste in my mouth.

Some talent joining the portal already from smaller schools. Nothing that I would say should be a priority. I fully expect this staff will only focus on players from P5 and the bigger schools when the time comes.
Just as long as we don’t miss out on the occasional jewel at a Towson St or an Appalachian St. Ya know?
I’m usually all for modernization but wasn’t enamored by the video. Some things look like reasonable improvements that will benefit many. But some parts look like they are exclusive.
That feels somehow counter to the spirit of the building and the program. It’s always felt open to all.
I know the renovations don’t happen without large donors and so there are perks for the donors. But carving out parts of AFH to serve that purpose feels a bit sacrilegious.
Yeah. I heard them say something like -- 'he was able to get off an open shot'. Yeah.. open because he cleared out the defender. That's a bad no call.
I understand there is only 1 second left and it would likely give Memphis the win, provided he can hit 1 FT. But that would be fair because the shot was taken with an unfair advantage.
I can't help but think of the recent game where the crew called like 7 offensive fouls in one half on us. We know that crews can call offensive fouls. Somewhere between calling 7 on a team in a half and no call when it determines the game would be nice.
I think Yormark has better vision than the other conference heads. He's come from a different background and operates differently-- and he seems to understand media markets and is in step with the interests of the networks and platforms.
If he's thinking about separating football from basketball, he may understand that he can render more revenue by splitting a single product into a portfolio of products and sell them separately. That's a move that could be transformative. First mover often has an advantage.
Did anyone watch the Houston / Memphis game? I have a question about that final play-- it looked like the Houston player used his arm to clear out the defender and get a clear shot.. I thought that was an offensive foul... Did anyone else see that? (It loomed large as the shot hit with no time left on the clock and Houston won.)
Defending a National Championship starts this week.
Defend like your sports life depends on it, because it does.
Let's start with diving for balls and winning 50-50 balls.
Play to our standard. Show that we can completely destroy a lesser adversary.

....but if players aren’t sticking up for him publicly I think that’ll say a lot about who he is as a coach and person.
Agree. In fact if they aren't sticking up for him privately it says plenty.
SEC officials have been giving Alabama a lot of gifts this year. This is not the first one. I think Tennessee got jobbed as well at the end of their game. Alabama's record should probably have 2 more losses.
The rebounding discrepancy was partly due to a lot of physicality (shoving) that wasn’t called.
JWill did play some good D on that final possession
Really interested in Dejuan’s status
Strong D
Need I say it?
Just in case we didn’t hear it the first 16 times
Announcers said it again
Shouldn’t it reset with the timeout?
WTF
@wissox yea. With this crew it’s all good
Welp. He actually kicked ball
Such poor officiating.
Got to keep this a two possession game
Ankle
Not good.
Finally they got one right.
