I agree with the first post that got this started. How many top recruits were on the championship team of 08? Mario, Brandon and most of them stayed 3 - 4 years to get experience in his system. I don't think he's a good coach for the one and dones. He's a great coach, there's no one else I'd rather have at KU but just don't think he's using the most of the talent that he has this year.

Was curious if that joke of a gym where they played might of had an impact on them also. I didn't like the lighting in that place or how it was set up. I know they have some stuff that was sown as a lot of weaknesses but all off the big names that played 3 days in a row at neutral sites lost over the weekend too.

Glad to see that MAYBE we're headed in a good direction for football. Wondering why does Aquib Talib always say he's from west texas when he spent 3 years at KU? There's a cornerback playing for Denver and he says he's from KU. With all of Talib's legal troubles that's fine but is he ashamed to say he's from KU? Just something I noticed watching the Denver - New England game last Saturday.

Well luckily I caught it soon enough & seen that the KU games were gonna be on a channel I've never heard of. Found out my cable company had it and got it today at 4:30!!

I'm so tired of us getting our buts beat every weekend. There's a certain coach at USC that's an interim coach who isn't wanted there, is a heck of a recruiter and wants another shot as a head coach. Anythings gotta be better than what we got now or are we to deep in salaries now to make another change? Or does our AD have to much pride to realize he made a mistake and wont pull the trigger on weis?

After two games you think he's gonna leave after one year? We haven't even got into the meat of KU's schedule. I saw Oklahoma St play the other night & they can play defense, so their gonna beat him up pretty good in the lane. He's only been playing since he was 16 so I think he's gonna be at KU for at least 2 or 3 years.

Anybody have any insight on the Greene thing? Someone on KU Sports said that he was slamming doors and throwing a tantrum. I don't know if its true or not but he's too talented to be on the bench.

Is anyone else watching the Kentucky - Michigan State game? Michigan State looks pretty tough to me. There really handling Kentucky well.

I agree with everything said here. We've updated our facilities for recruits & I agree that we need an identity for football. Charlie Weis is obviously not the answer but is our AD gonna be big enough to realize that he made a mistake in hiring him & can he get it right this time to hire the "right" man for KU, who can win and keep on winning. I still think he needs to pick either o coach or an assistant from a top SEC school. Their the toughest conference in the nation year in & year out & he would know how to handle the big boys in the Big 12

I agree it will come down to coaching but I think that Duke has too many veterans & KU is awfully young. I think it will be close but Duke will when this game, which will be good for KU to take their lumps early in the season cause it will make them a better team in march.

I agree.....we gotta guard better or Duke is gonna kill us. I thought the Black would be better but he is a big body in the middle and we do need to feed Ellis more in the post. I hate the new rule by the NCAA. It's gonna take forever to end games. Why can't they just leave well enough alone?

All of Frank Martins talent must be gone cause Northern Colorado beat the kittycats!! Now they have neither talent or a coach.

I don't understand with KC in our backyard to recruit from why we keep stinking up the football field. Tired of getting beat by 20 or 30 points every week. Obviously Weis is not the answer, just worry about the rest of our teams doing well.

I hope Mason does better at the point then he started out against Fort Hays. I know this might rub some people the wrong way but I haven't seen anything from Wiggins yet that constitutes all the hype. I know the season is young but I hope I see more out of him

I have a quick question. Is Tyler Self on the team this year? I haven't seen him on the bench or in the Fort Hays game......

Might as well tear up the football field and put a new track there. Obviously we don't need a football team

I suggest we do like Wichita state did. Drop the football program. We're nothing but a joke anyway & we haven't had a good coach since Mangino who we ran out of town. The salaries that the football are coaches are making just give part of that to basketball & baseball coaches. Then become dominate in the basketball and baseball programs. Obviously our good football facilities are going to waste.

Nice, truthful article. It seems like forever ago when KU won the orange bowl and went to another bowl after that. The only coach who had things going in the right direction got ran out of town. I hate to say it but I've given up on football season until we find a DECENT coach!! I'll let all my hopes rest on the basketball team for a GOOD year!!

I agree TOTALLY!! Doesn't seem like we're getting any closer to winning in the ffotball program. I say we get a coach from the SEC or a top assistant from that conference. It's the toughest in football year in & year out. Obviously this isn't working cause we get the same excuses after every blow out loss!!
