Ranking the losses • Sep 16, 2019 08:49 PM

@jhawk7782 ya I would say Todd Ressing injuring his groin in that game was a big factor in our tail spin and sweet Lou's drama. I'm worried about too much optimism at this point. People are already whispering bowl game. People were saying the same after we whipped Rutgers a year ago. I'll say it the same as I did then after our lone loss was to Nichols, I just cant see dropping a home game against that bad of a team and making one. We needed that win badly. I would say we have an outside shot at one of we can finish these front 6 games 4-2. But it's hard to predict 4 conference wins for a program that's had a mere 6 in the last decade. 4 wins is still doable and a solid improvement for a first year coach.

Am I watching the Chief or the Jayhawks? • Sep 16, 2019 03:56 PM

The defense has been a pleasant surprise for me. Only letting up a shade over 15 points. I think they've given up a few too many big plays and need to start catching INTs (we dropped 4 Friday). A like a bend not break defense in this conference because you know that yards will be given up, that's just how it works in the B12. My question is which offense show up Saturday? The team that lit up the scoreboard or the team that struggles to score against inferior opponents. The play calling and Stanley finally showing up was the difference. We didnt run a RPO that I can remember the first 2 games and we kept him the pocket too much. Friday we ran the hell outta RPOs and had several rollouts outta play action. I honestly think if we played CC again we'd stomp them by 30. I'm excited for Saturday, just to see what we do. I think WV and Tech at home are probably our best shots at more wins but I think they'll be dog fights. One at time men let's go!

KSU looking good against Mississippi State up 17-7 late second quarter. Would be a few solid wins for the conference this week.

ESPN+ question • Sep 14, 2019 05:20 PM

@Crimsonorblue22 you are always the positive voice and we love you for it! No arguments on that.

ESPN+ question • Sep 14, 2019 03:49 PM

@Crimsonorblue22 I see nowhere where you predicted a 24 point ku win or even a win at all going thru your post 😁.

Ranking the losses • Sep 14, 2019 06:07 AM

Still one of the worst losses but its forgiven at this point. Any remember the basketball team losing 3 at home in 2018? Me neither, just remember the final four appearance.

ESPN+ question • Sep 14, 2019 06:05 AM

@jayballer73 no one was predicting a win, if they claim so, I'm mailing them my BS stamp. I liked our odds of not getting beat by 20+ and figured this team had a spine. I thought we'd blow it late but I'd be happy with my winnings and the improvement. I pulled the same card against TT for the big title in basketball a few years back. The more I talk about us playing poorly when I have money on the line, the better it goes lol.

Guy's let's see , try • Sep 14, 2019 06:01 AM

@Crimsonorblue22 I still might lol. Miles to go still.

Guy's let's see , try • Sep 14, 2019 03:17 AM

Guys this was a huge upset BC was favored 21 when I bet Wednesday, think it got down to 19 but still winning by 24 I'm not sure I thought on our best day we could do that. I'd rate this right up with Texas as one of the biggest in a very long time. Good job all around, notice they run RPO and stuck with the same o line most the game. My inside sources said Miles was very vanilla the first 2 weeks and hadn't shown much. Maybe a bit 2 vanilla. Idc about the rest of the season, just beat KSU.

Guy's let's see , try • Sep 14, 2019 02:31 AM

Hehe I was confident that this would be a game. As per usual with my jayhawks, the more I bash them, the better they play. Just finish men and I'll be $200 dollars richer!!!

Guy's let's see , try • Sep 13, 2019 05:24 PM

It is Friday the 13th and a full moon. Maybe, just maybe we will only lose by 20!!

The ACC network is on the CW most the time with bunny ears at my place.

@jayballer73 That is my problem friend, I did a little searching tonight to just to compare some numbers after Les Miles said our offensive line has played dominant football (obviously on of the most idiotic statements I’ve ever heard) and they just need to get settled in. I’ve come up with a simple question why hasn’t Klieman needed time for his players to settle in? KSU line returns 3 starters just like our but ours has much better size. I think it’s a fair argument that KU has not only as much talent as KSU but maybe even more, the best coach in there school history beat the worst coach (for now, bet Miles surpasses him) in our school history by 4 points last year. The last 10 years according to rivals is an even 5 to 5 in recruiting ranking, with the last 4 being an even 2 to 2. KU has more 4 guys on this team than KSU currently does. So Klieman can improve his team in the offseason and get his players ready to go but Miles can’t? I’d bet heavily on KSU winning 7 games this year minimum. A lot of people had both KU and KSU finishing 8th to 10th in this conference. They got the same 2 and 3 star guys we got, I believe they have a single 4 while we have 4. The simple answer is KSU and Klieman are IMPROVING their players, while are simply not doing the same. If the revolving door at coaching is really killing KU, why is it not KSU, they need an FCS team to miss a FG as time expired last season while our opponent hit it and won in OT. KSU wasnt good last year, hell they needed 2 bogus holding calls and Bender dropping the ball to beat us at home. Klieman is obviously the far superior coach at this point and Miles sucks.

@Texas-Hawk-10 Koenning has very very unimpressive resume, I hope he gets canned every day. Cool that you have a connection to him, just wish he was a better coach.

Guy's let's see , try • Sep 13, 2019 02:10 AM

@Texas-Hawk-10 I don't necessarily disagree but still no excuses to lose last week and I dont think Miles can win here. We've heard it too many times here, actions speak louder than words. I was expecting improvement in some way, I think we have regressed. We have simply not improved in any aspect of the game since his hire.

Evan Daniels Article on Skipping College • Sep 13, 2019 02:01 AM

I think this trend won't stay long and hope they do away with the OAD rule. It's making the some of the better players in our country go else where to play. Its also very risky, think if Grimes, the #8 recruit went over there. He'd be riding the pine 90% of the time and never have a shot to get drafted. Though I believe his chances are slim here at least he can get a free education for when his basketball career doesn't work out. I'd say a high percentage of the leagues over seas wouldnt stand a chance against a top 25 CBB team. Think about a KU team beating pros in Korea with a team that couldnt get outta the first weekend of the NCAA tournament. I know there was an age limit and not all leagues are bad but I've watched some pretty lackluster games from overseas.

Guy's let's see , try • Sep 13, 2019 01:21 AM

@jayballer73 idk how anyone could he excited about this program or even this staff with how badly they were out coached last week. At this point its evident that the QB battle wasnt remotely close or Macvitte probably plays in the second half last week. It's funny a high school assistant that I've known for years, that coaches a local team that I think has lost 2 games in the last 2 years ask me if I thought Miles has lost his mind or something. I flat out told I wouldn't rule it out at this point. He said if I've called a game like that offensively I'd be done and sadly I agree. Sad that HS coaches are laughing about how stupid this staff is.

Week 3 prediction, minus the attendance. Boston College is a solid team that will run the ball regularly regardless if there is 8 or 9 guys in the box. They average right about 250 rush yards per game. To have any shot of keeping this from getting ugly we have to force them into pass situations. Defensively they are inexperienced and have given up a lot of yards so far. I'm looking for some improvement on offense friday. I'd like to see one unit on the line, I have noticed we have kept Hakeem and Malik Clark on the field at all times while switching the others. We have 2 game films to dissect whom should be out there. I'd like to see some RPO action, something that was talked about all offseason and hasnt been used once. The offensive mind of Miles, Beaty and Gill run, run, pass doesn't work. It looks like we have about 8 plays at this point and everyone can stop them with relative ease at this level. Miles was known for his terrible offense in Baton Rouge, hopefully we can fire Koenning soon and get someone with a brain. Hire a coordinator and let him run something decent. I was going to predict at 66-6 loss, but after researching BC a little more and seeing how both teams love to run the ball. I'm going with BC 41 to 9. I look for the rest of this season to mirror Beaty's 15 campaign, look for a running clock in the second half a couple of times before its said and done.

@nuleafjhawk very true if we had Wyman back for another season, we probably pull it out Saturday. I feel like we should just go for it everytime. We have nothing to lose and will probably get beat by 20+ every game from here on out. Try some trick plays too.

@nuleafjhawk the trouble is that beating Coastal Carolina isn’t doing big things lol. I’m not saying that the fieldhouse isn’t loud, the Arizona State loss a couple years back is prime example. That place was asleep in the second half. I’m sure Cameron Indoor wasn’t too boisterous when Miami was sparking them by 25 a few years ago. I’m a pretty loud opinionated person if y’all haven’t figured that out yet lol.

@nuleafjhawk all we can do at this point is join in laughter with the rest of the country.

@nuleafjhawk Chris Klieman looks like a far superior coach to Miles at this point. People had KSU winning only 3 games this season. They look bigger, faster and stronger. KU looks like they drank beers all offseason.

@approxinfinity that's fair, I just don't know if its possible at this point. That and burning timeouts aren't on the players.

@Crimsonorblue22 it can be loud for sure, but if we ain't playing well, it is the polar opposite. I've been to dozens and dozens and dozens of games there, if we are down and not playing well, it's not loud.

@nuleafjhawk I mean it has been statistically the worst 5 years in program history these past 5 years and by fair amount. Ku never was or will be great but only man that can win here is gone.

@dylans we were good after Terry Allen, we just fired the best coach we've had and to quote Todd Ressing "because people are soft".

@nuleafjhawk I meant to say wasn't there lol

@nuleafjhawk I wasn't so maybe you are a better judge but I've been in Allen when it's quite as a mouse fart.

I think we all have come to agree that Beating Texas in 2016 was one of the worst wins in KU football because it allowed David Beaty to sign a extension. But what are some of the most deflating losses to you? I’ve been following KU since 2000 fairly close and I’d say Saturday’s loss to Coastal Carolina is at #1 for me. Not far behind is 2010’s NDSU loss and 2015’s loss to SDSU. It was deflating to me because if I Just woke up from a 1 year conma, I’d swear to you David Beaty was still on the sidelines. Between the wasting of two very costly timeouts and the simple offense of run, run, and pass. Now my expectations weren’t to go bowling as Desmond Howard predicted on college game day, I thought a 4 wins and 3-1 start we’re very doable. Saturday’s loss was costly in a number ways. First off attendance was more than we have seen in several years, so much that if not one person shows up to the West Virginia game we will still average more than we did last season thru 3 games. It looked like the stadium was 3/4s full on tv and you actually hear people cheering. We all know it will hurt recruiting in some manner, just depends on how good of a sales man Les Miles can be. I feel like all the preseason momentum was lost, we had a cool new TV series, Desmond said we could go bowling, people were talking about Kansas football in a positive matter and Les Miles who won a National title said we could be a good or great team. Heck I even listened to hawk talk the first 2 weeks, which I haven’t done in years for football. I said all summer winning these first two games would be one of the most important things. There isn’t a good enough excuse in my opinion for losing Saturday to a team that likely doesn’t win more than 3 games all year. I put the bulk on the coaching staff, this team had zero energy and flatout was not ready to play. My bold prediction at this point is Les Miles goes back into retirement after finishing 1-11 after this year.

I also am starting to think that the starting QB battle wasn't near as competitive as we were made to believe. If it was, you'd think Miles wouldve tried to get Macvitte some snaps, Carter struggled badly with accuracy and decision making.

@nuleafjhawk I agree to a certain extent. KSU basketball fans are only rowdy for a few games of the year, that place doesnt sell out threw out the year. The football team has to at least do something exciting at the same time. There was really only a few plays on either side to stand and cheer for in a 12-7 snooze fest game. Allen Fieldhouse and any other sporting event I've been to including middle school, high school, NAIA, Juco and D1 athletic events aren't noisy if the team isnt producing at least exciting plays.

I dont mind giving him another shot at this point. The season is lost anyway I guess he's better than Beatys 0-12 first season. It's crazy to think about how ungodly bad this offense is, ranked 129 of 130 in efficiency after playing a FCS team and a team that wont win more than 3 games all year. The OC hire was a
Complete miss and maybe the worst hire in CFB history. Got the most talented RB in the conference that we dont use in the passing game. Sometimes I think its just time to cancel this program.

Coastal Carolina Chanticleers • Sep 08, 2019 01:54 PM

I think this loss set us back another 2 years. We just lost any decent recruit we have and we got out coached by a first year guy. I personally dont believe in Les Miles whatsoever after last nights game. Sad that a good chunk of my buddies as well as me think David Beaty wins last night. Miles's clock management maybe worse than Beaty's. Hopefully he is smart enough to take HS recruits not 15 JUCOs.

Coastal Carolina Chanticleers • Sep 08, 2019 04:22 AM

@mayjay I didnt expect to win more than 3-4 games. But that ones tough because we had so many opportunities to put more on the board. Hard to find another win on the schedule at this point, we have to find a QB that is at least avg. Carters performance was one of the worst I've seen here and that says alot. Dude can't even hold the ball in his hand for the second week in a row.

Coastal Carolina Chanticleers • Sep 08, 2019 02:56 AM

@FarmerJayhawk from what my friends(that sit with him) say that he definitely does. I honestly wouldn't blame him at this point tho. Think of what he could do behind an average oline? Hopefully he was just venting I'm plenty frustrated myself as anyone can see lol.

And so the Season begins • Sep 08, 2019 02:38 AM

Wow everyone calling AB crazy now he looks like a genius. You ain't stopping Brady with AB and a not doping Gordon.

Coastal Carolina Chanticleers • Sep 08, 2019 02:29 AM

@Kcmatt7 He was a big factor in the loss, 2 picks, one with at least 10 yards of running in front of him. Not having a kicker was costly as well. @Texas-Hawk-10 I agree man, I'm just ticked because we should've won tonight.

Coastal Carolina Chanticleers • Sep 08, 2019 02:22 AM

Pooka is gone according to his dad at the game.

Coastal Carolina Chanticleers • Sep 08, 2019 02:18 AM

I feel for the Defense, they only let up 291 yards, 12 points and held them to 1 of 9 on 3rds down but still got beat.

Coastal Carolina Chanticleers • Sep 08, 2019 02:13 AM

I hope with start someone else at QB and fire the OC on monday. I think we attempted 5 passes in the second half. Very little play action, one roll out that I can recall we got out coached tonight. You will never convince me of otherwise.

Coastal Carolina Chanticleers • Sep 08, 2019 02:10 AM

I did and I think we can play with them but I'm not picking another win that's for sure.

Coastal Carolina Chanticleers • Sep 08, 2019 02:08 AM

Carter Stanley sucks ass and that's being nice.

Coastal Carolina Chanticleers • Sep 08, 2019 02:05 AM

We ain't winning another game this season folks.

Coastal Carolina Chanticleers • Sep 08, 2019 02:03 AM

Beaty>Miles at this point piss poor play calling. Let's get a QB that high school level.

Coastal Carolina Chanticleers • Sep 08, 2019 01:53 AM

That's game folks

Coastal Carolina Chanticleers • Sep 08, 2019 01:46 AM

Obvious missed hold on the 4th down, still insanely stupid to burn all TOs on it.

Coastal Carolina Chanticleers • Sep 08, 2019 12:06 AM

Carter Stanley's decision making keeping it a game, has 15 yards of green in front of on first down. Instead of running he throws a pick into double coverage at the goal line. SMH that's a salvation army level play by a redshirt senior.

Coastal Carolina Chanticleers • Sep 07, 2019 05:17 PM

Just watching some early games today, WV stinks and we should be able to give them a game IMO. KSU looks better than they have been since 2012. They will easily make a bowl and probably trounce us unfortunately. Jax Dineen is playing plenty for them and looking good, which is disappointing for us.
