I was only 9 years old that season, I remember watching on our old wood grain TV when we had 4 channels. I thought they were going to win the whole damn thing that year so many good players. Kenny Gregory, Raef, Pierce and Billy Thomas who I got to meet when he played for the Cagerz in Salina, great guy. You dont really hear about these guys coming back alot ether. I know Paul came back for legends of the PHOG game and Billy was in the pregame video at one time.

@justanotherfan I agree with most of what you said friend. The Turner Gill thing is hard to say, to be blunt he had no right to get his crazy contract after one good season at buffalo. He was beaten by an FCS first game out and flatout had the talent to win 5 games IMO, hell he won 3(has one winning season between 6 years at KU and Buffalo). I wanted him to succeed, he was a great guy, I loved his character. Just didn't agree with his coaching or how he let his players struggle in the classroom and as citizens. He seemed lost at press conferences , our players were way outta shape.All this being said I think he should've been given his 3rd year. Weis ruined his program Gill could recruit just couldn't do much else.

@Crimsonorblue22 Put poison in your car, this time a year we get a ton of cars with mice trouble, I've seen some nasty things that can happen when they get into the blower motor. Believe me you never wanna clean that mess or chase wires that they may have chewed thru.

Well first off Vick can flat out play, he looked like a NBA guy the last two outings. We should stick with this 4 guard line up because our guards are rebounding better than our bigs, some have mentioned a issue with guarding a good big with this line up. I look at the Georgia game and see how we were killed bye a decent big while playing ours. We have may have 4 of the best guards in country IMO. This team has the ability to shoot the heck outta the ball, I think we did fall in love with the 3 a little too much especially with Svi who started 4/6 but finished 4/10, which is still a good percentage but he wasn't set on most of his shots later in the game. JJ and Doka have to work on their FTs sooner rather than later, JJ is too good of a player to shoot sub 60% from the line. Our bigs still look lost most of the time, I thought Doka had a good stretch in the second but will have trouble scoring against most B12 caliber teams. Whats with Bragg? He did have a decent stretch as well, but doesn't seem to have his normal quickness or bounce and it shows. All of our bigs are out of position on defense most of the time, and rebounding position too which has lead to silly fouls and offensive rebounds for opposing teams. Our defense as a team was great in the first half, we didn't really have the same intensity in the second which happens when your up 30 points. One other thing that I like is how hard JJ plays when he is on the floor, 3 minutes left in a 30 point game and is getting on the floor for a loose ball. Mason finally showed he was human lol, I actually think we are a better team when he doesn't have to take over and score 20 plus points. DG was solid on both ends quietly had 12 points, I'm just waiting for the game he explodes for 30 but I'll take his 13 point average with 5 assists. To me we really need atleast on big to step up and earn their keep for us to come close to this teams ceiling.

I think when he's scoring in the low teens we are more of a monster to guard. @Fightsongwriter Rebounding is 10% skill 90% want to, I'm almost 6'2, I out rebounded guys 5 inches taller in my day as you said doing your work before the shot to get in position is a lot of it.

@JayHawkFanToo I agreed about WSUs seeding that year, they should have been a 4 or 5 and we should've been a 3 with Cliff out and Perry not a 100%. Us winning the same conference would have been to me the deciding factor, playing against the same teams, with a better record. Purdue wasn't a terrible lost at the time idk where they ended up but was ranked 14th when we lost to them on the road. I just feel like the deck was stacked against as it is in BB most of the time. @mayjay I can see some of what your saying, I tend to agree more with @ralster. But it's not worth an argument, I'm fine not using it and I'm ok to agree to disagree with anyone.
I saw the Bryant game and that's really inexcusable for a college athlete, @mayjay I think the Cwebb timeout is something that happens more often but most refs wont give you the TO. I'd say Morgan State missed some free ones in that game.
