Maybe we were spoiled by having Azubuike, especially the way he played late in the season last year. Not a fair comparison?

Not Dave's day...week...year.
I tend to agree with the posters who say this team is a year away.
The good news is that it's early enough in the season for them to develop some chemistry.

Given all the COVID news, I'm grateful we even have 2000 fans in the building (even if it sometimes sounds like we get outcheered by the Blue Jay fans).

I remember that 1974 NCAA Tournament game against Creighton. Ted Owens ran a double post offense with Danny Knight and Rick Suttle, with Norm Cook, Dale Greenlee, Roger Morningstar and Tom Kivisto.
After we won that one we beat Oral Roberts to go to the Final Four. Lost to Marquette, then had to face Bill Walton and UCLA in the third place game (back when they had such a thing). They'd gotten upset by NC State (w/David Thompson) in the other semi. Jayhawks ended up in fourth place.
@DanR Either that, or the entire city of Eudora turned out to root for their guy.
Props to the defense for only allowing one touchdown.
@BeddieKU23 I'm also one of those people who can't see paying extra to watch glorified exhibition games on ESPN+. I get enough info by following the play-by-play page for the game on the ESPN website. They'll show the highlights later on TV anyway. (Another good thing about being a Top 10 program.)
The guys on ESPN's Pardon The Interruption called this game "The Gary Woodland Bowl."
I'm not feeling quite so bad about losing to Coastal Carolina now that they're ranked in the Top 25 (at number 19).
Just saw where Coastal is playing Brigham Young this Saturday to fill an opening after the Chanticleers opponent, Liberty, had to cancel due to COVID. Didn't realize they had a 9 and 0 record.
I'd love to see them take BYU down a peg, especially after that "anytime, anyplace" tweet they put out a couple of weeks ago. Right after that, Washington tried to schedule BYU to fill their own virus-related open date, but all of a sudden the Big Bad Cougars went silent. Huskies ended up playing (and beating) Utah in a come-from-behind win.
