KU defense doing a good job with social distancing.
They're contesting every one of our shots, while we're playing matador defense.
And it's 81 and sunny in Fort Myers. Sheesh.
And there's already one W in the books for the Jayhawks.
KU women beat Northern Colorado, 78-62. They built a 25-point lead by halftime on their way to an easy win.

Has Gonzaga played an exhibition game? Kentucky? I'm trying to embrace the change, or at least not hate it. No exhibitions for KU, just going to go out and play the preseason number 1 team. Well, I do admire Coach Self''s courage. I no longer use a DVR, so Thanksgiving dinner will just have to wait. Rock Chalk.
No exhibitions for Gonzaga and UK...they've only played their versions of our Late Night In The Phog intrasquad game: "Kraziness In The Kennel" and "Big Blue Madness."
I lucked out on the timing of the KU game against the Zags. It's neatly tucked between Thanksgiving church services and dinner at my friends' place.
@Crimsonorblue22 Apparently it's not just Barnes. Tennessee announced multiple positives "among its Tier 1 personnel," which includes coaches, players, team managers and support staff.
Fortunately we don't play them for a couple of months.
@jayballer67 FYI, Spokane (where Gonzaga is located) is way over on the other side of the state from Washington's campus in Seattle. Think of the drive from KC to St. Louis and add a half-hour (plus a mountain range).
So far all the cancellations involving UW basketball and football have been due to COVID positives by the opposing teams.
Agree with you about the matchups with the Bulldogs' bigs. Hawks will have their hands full.
Off to my nightcap. If I don't catch y'all during the Gonzaga game, everybody have a good (and safe) Thanksgiving !

@nwhawkfan our D sucks!
Trust me, you'd rather have the Chiefs defense than the Seattle D ! (Aside from the last game.)
Patrick ! Your QB rating was only 102 this week. Yer slippin!
This calls for a Glenlivet rocks.
I missed the first half, but I figured this'd be a "last team to score wins" type of game anyway.
And the D with the dagger !!!
"Way to matrticulate the ball down the field, boys."
YOWSAH !
Oh yeah...the Morrii.
In the wake of the Klay Thompson injury, it looks like Golden State is about to pick up Kelly Oubre. He'll join fellow Jayhawk one-and-done Andrew Wiggins.
Can't remember the last time an NBA team had two KU guys in the starting lineup.
@wrwlumpy I've got Neil Armstrong, Patrick Ewing and film director John Huston as my birthday buddies.
(Marilyn bummed me out on one of my birthdays by passing away the day before.)
What a change in tone for the draft. Last year it was the usual zoo-like atmosphere with screaming fans and tons of bling.
This year was really low-key, with lots of Zoom shots of players getting emotional with their families. Haven't seen this many tears since the last season of "This Is Us."

Dokes worked so hard! Very happy for him, hope his mom and maybe his brother saw this. I know he wants to give back. 🙏 for great health!
Good for Doke. He gets to follow in the (large) footsteps of another Jazz shot blocker from KU, Greg Ostertag.
Watched a pre-draft feature on Devon today. Although everybody puts on a good look for the draft, it seems like his whole family has their heads on straight, parents and siblings...a good example being set for him. Hoping for the best for Devon and Doke.
All it does is prolong the agony for this program. This season is just another forgettable thing about 2020.
And in non-ACC news...
Assuming the NCAA uses multiple venues, it'll be interesting to see which arena KU gets sent to. They're already making one trip to the city in a couple of weeks for the Kentucky game on the Pacers home court. Getting to play at Bankers Life Fieldhouse again in the tourney could give them a slight advantage in terms of familiarity.

Marsha has officially resigned. Yay
Will get almost 8 million in settlement $ over the next 6 years.
SEE YA ! WOULDN"T WANNA BE YA !
That 8 mil should just about cover the attorney fees.
Would love to see them hold the tourney at Hinkle Fieldhouse. Shades of Gene Hackman.
They'll probably need more physical space than that, though, so they'll probably use Lucas Oil Stadium.

Read where Ku& Gonzaga have agreed to a Home and Home series starting in 2022. - -Gonzaga at the Phog in 2022 & KU there in 2023
Great news. Spokane's within driving distance for me.
Haven't had a chance to see KU here in the Northwest since they played Oregon in Portland many moons ago, back in the Aaron Miles/Michael Lee days.
Several reports have the Sixers about to hire ex-Houston GM Daryl Morey as head of basketball operations. He's got a rep as someone who likes a smaller lineup with players who can shoot threes.
Could this put Joel Embiid and/or Ben Simmons on the trading block, especially given their lack of chemistry with each other?
They way things are going with the virus, this year's schedule might as well be written out on an Etch-A-Sketch.
(Or a Magic Slate, for those of you of a certain age...)
And his last play as a Jayhawk is a 92-yard kickoff return for a touchdown. Damn.
Something for the NFL scouts to salivate over.
And it's time for Thursday Night Football On A Monday Afternoon.
Such is life in 2020.
Not much of a Lakers fan, but I'm always happy when a Jayhawk wins a title...
Normally I'd say there's plenty of time for a comeback, but Mahomes is having an off day. Barely completing half of his passes.
Division rivalries aside, this could be a trap game for the Chiefs. Will they go all out, knowing that they've got to play the Bills on Thursday?
They're already one man down.
I thought this kind of crap went away when Bobby Knight retired. Hell of a role model.
Good job by the D tonight, though you wonder how they've would've done against Cam Newton.
BALLGAME
THANK YOU VERY MUCH
Sloppy first half. We'll see if the Chiefs can win one by grinding it out.
Nice clock management there.
Listening to the radio feed with Mitch Holthus online. Kinda confusing...the delay puts him about one play behind the TV.
It's also weird hearing the game on "The Wolf" instead of "The Fox."

"A boy named Sue" perbowl Champion
Unless it's "Danger-Russ" Wilson
Interesting to see which team gets affected more by the one-day delay...

people say we can't drop football because it's the majority revenue maker - can't see how that's possible when it's as lousy as it is - -I would have to think Our Basketball has to be pushing the - I mean this is close to embarrassing. - Teams drool at the mouth when they see KU coming up on their schedule - -time to pad the stats - -Good GOD man
It's because of the TV contracts with ESPN/Fox. That's where the majority of the football revenue comes from.
makes sense but man can't figure out WHY ESPN and FOX would even want to broadcast such an diaster - -I would think the viewership the ratings would be really really low
Most of the Big XII teams we play are in the Top 25 and have a decent share of viewers.
Just plain ugly. Switching channels over to The Preakness. Unlike KU football, they have the horses.
@jayballer67 I often wondered why we couldn't move Homecoming to basketball season.
A lot of people forget about KU's Mike McCormack being in the football HOF. He went to my high school. I was supposed to go back to KC next week for our alumni reunion, but that ended up being postponed (again) due to the virus.
Kendrick in at QB.
If the old saying goes, "When you've got two quarterbacks, you've got no quarterbacks," what is it when you've got three?
