@Kcmatt7 Was that record prediction just a stab or did you actually look at all 18 games and say ok, we win this one, lose that one? If you looked at it a little more analytically, who are our losses against? I can't ever see us losing at home, although Bill has found out 9 times it does happen. But this team has what it takes to keep the home streak going.

So three road losses. Our three usual suspects ISU, WVU and OSU leaves out Manhattan where we're 3-3 in the last 6 years I think. And then of course Baylor. So there's 5 places where we've lost more than once in the last half decade. WVU will be the most sure loss in that group in my mind. Not sure who else we lose to, but we'll probably come out flat against one of the others, watch the fools storm the court, and come back to AFH for the revenge game and beat them by 25.

@KUSTEVE When I see a combined 0-10 from lightfoot and young, I say why not! I think Lightfoot has made a 3 this year too.

I think I could teach the guys a thing or two about FT shooting. It's all muscle memory. It's repetitive motion until you're used to it. I see too many guys who have all kinds of movement in the FT shooting process. A simple flick of the wrist is really all that's necessary.

And I should know. I've shot FT's in pressure situations. I was in a church tournament my senior year of HS. Big time. Last game of the quarterfinals, it's like 11:30 PM on a Friday night, we're losing by 1 when I get fouled with a second left. The ref walks up to me and says "you better make both or miss both". I decided to try to make both, made the first, and to his chagrin, missed the 2nd. OT where we won. Ref was pissed. We won the tournament against two inner city churches the following day, big accomplishment for us suburban boys, although we did have a couple of ringers from Cabrini Green who helped out a bit!

@KUSTEVE You seem to be saying we've got the 3 point problem worked out. If so, I'd agree! We're shooting 56% from 3 the last 4 games. Pretty amazing stat.

At the same time we're shooting 53% from the line during the last 4 games. This is a big concern obviously. We beat Indiana if we don't miss 10 FT's. We're still undefeated then, not that it matters too much.

Jnew was talking on his podcast excellently the offense is operating right now. A bunch of drives and kickouts and swinging the ball back and forth are creating these good looks the guys are getting. It's really a thing of beauty at times.

The other night we swung the ball (sorry, I don't have technical terms for this) through the lane and out to the line and as a soccer coach it could have been a video for how to attack the goal. Drops, using space efficiently, keeping shape. Really fun to watch.

Last night was a night for stat padding. Not sure if it really tells you anything at all about our team although ranked Creighton had a hard time with the same UMKC team.

I'm not an x's and o's guy so I can't really analyze the game from that standpoint. But, UMKC's defense was absolutely porous. Good 3 point shooting like we had opens up the middle and man, the last 10 minutes felt like shoot and make a 3, then have a wide open layup, then shoot a 3, wash, rinse repeat.

In other words, UMKC's defense was so poor we didn't really learn much last night I'm afraid. The last time I saw defense that poor was at the NBA all star game. The last time I saw defense that poor was in the battle of New Orleans. The last time I saw defense that poor was well, just across campus at the football stadium.

Danny played with some veterans I think! Disclaimer. It was the year before I came to KU and I barely knew KU existed!

Nice! Got references in to all four of our least favorite teams, KState, Duke, UK and Misery.

I like stats. They paint a picture of our strengths-shooting, passing, defense, and our weakness, FT's, fouls (tainted a bit by the Indiana and Duke games) and rebounding (kind of). Take the anomaly game of Indiana away and our defense stats are probably closer to 1.

@drgnslayr I have tried to remind myself that some of those boys for Duke played really well that day and Dekker laid an egg and that we might have won if we'd done a better job defending, but the calls, ugh, the calls!

Imagine the value of the ball if all of us bucketeers autographed a ball!

Oral Roberts beating MSU by three late in the first half in ELansing

Currently the box score shows us 11-19 on both 3 pointers and FT's!

We're 3-11 on shots outside the paint, but really 1-9 because two of those were shown on the shot chart touching the lane. The chart shows we've only missed 6 shots in the lane.

15 assists on 18 made baskets is really good I think. Can't see a shot chart, but we've either scored at the rim or from trifecta land. Can't even think of a 2 point jumper being made.

That's pretty smart by JJ to not foul there. He's got uncanny court awareness for a freshman.

@RockChalkinTexas I was going to ask you to look out for tickets for me when KU comes to Austin, but I got my hands on some. I'm stoked to see the Jayhawks and to enjoy Austin. I've never been there before.
