@dylans Ahh, I see. I'm a bit slow sometimes!
@Kcmatt7 The kid is going to need some humbling. Getting T-d up for barking at a kid 8 inches shorter than him is a little bit disconcerting to me.
@dylans Didn't quite catch your drift, but here's a link to Seths' ballot
@drgnslayr You could make a compelling case for all 10 teams from our league getting in. Oklahoma blasts Alabama. Tech beats 3 ranked B12 teams in last month of season. Those 3 games represent more games against ranked teams that 1 ranked Houston played all year. Tech played 13 ranked teams, Oklahoma even more, 14, which is more than any team in the country.
Seems strange to say but when fans of a team don't support their team by buying tickets and it's a huge SEC problem, why should that league be rewarded with large numbers of bids? I know that will never fly, but Bama didn't sell out rivalry game with Auburn.
Heck I was at a HS game last night with 8000 other fans. No it wasn't a state championship game or state tournament game. Like an elite 8 game and fans came out in droves to UIC to watch. Lots of good college teams can't draw like that.
:)
Joel Embiid was 19-19 Ft's in his last game and 9-9 tonight so far through 3. For the math challenged that's 27 in a row.
Louisville nightmare ends 4-28 record.
3rd team AA for DaJuan on Seth Davis' ballot.
I didn't know we'd made the FF twice in a four year span in the early 70's.
This one was tough for me because of the 40s-70s. I won't drop any spoilers right now. I got 23 of 28.

@mayjay I will take credit for it. I just created an Amazing word.
@DCHawker Grammar police alert!
I thought it was a push off but I know as a fact that MJ didn’t push off against the Jazz when he made that winning shot!
Harris led the league in 3 pt percentage. That , at least to me is the amazingest stat of all
Just to set the record straight, he did say servant and master correct? Some here are saying he said slave and master.
@dylans It may be the devil (aka coach Cal) or it may be the LORD (HCBS) but you gonna have to serve somebody!
@mayjay Yes, that's the one!
@approxinfinity Do you remember when this started?
@Crimsonorblue22 Some combo of md and mike?
Someone the other day mentioned on Twitter, (or maybe it was here?) the KU/Davidson game in 2008 when Steph Curry near ruined our long awaited chance for another championship.
I remember sitting on the porch watching the game on my computer and live chatting the game. Pretty sure at the time it was at KUSports and @Jesse-Newell was our voice of reason.
There were some great chatters at that place that stayed when the LJW decided to go to a facebook account required model which irked some of the commenters. Many declared they were done. I didn't mind but all the people saying they were done with a couple of exceptions were the people I enjoyed the most.
I remember a pit in my stomach. People who in a very modern way had become my friends. People I never saw in person and had no way to contact any more. In my mind a lot of you were gone.
I forget now how the effort was made to reach out to us about KUBuckets but the invite was given and i suddenly had an outlet to chat about my favorite team outside of the White Sox. And here we are 15 years after that championship still chatting. I'm almost 60 so this has been a quarter of my life.
I only met one of us in person. I cant remember except his name had md in it and I though he was a doctor but he wasn't. He lived near NOLA and we were in Baton Rouge at the time and he got me tickets for the championship in 2012. ETickets not a thing even that recently so I met him in a parking lot and met a fellow bucketeer.
That's it. I could be standing in line at the walmart with one of you and not know it. It's a strange thing. There's one person we all know and remember (unless you're approximately 3 years or less here) Jaybate. He's disappeared, and for the longest we didn't even know if he was alive. Because who really knows? Maybe he moved to Kentucky and became a Wildcat, or even worse a Wildcat of a purple kind.
Someone let us know because he is his relative that he's still alive and well. Others just fade away. Some dramatically quit, some join.
I've told my wife if something ever happens to me to come here and explain so people know! Because as we're all aware in one way or another we're a community here that's been a significant part of our lives. For those of us who don't live in Kansas and don't have KU blood in the family, this is it for us. My KU roomie lives an hour away and we get together to watch games from time to time. But he's my only contact.
Thanks to @approxinfinity for his significant role in this enterprise. He was the knight in shining armor way back when we were momentarily dazed and confused about where to go.
Hoping this is with me and the rest of you for the rest of all of our days. RCJHKU!
I agree on the he's tone deaf argument being used against him. Without context of the entire conversation will we really know exactly what and how it was said? Did he preface it with 'well don't get me wrong here but there's a verse...'? IDK. But then you add on did he spit on someone and then told them he's allowed to? That's crazy talk. But again there's some context that we may never know even in that one. Was it an accident (like he claims) and the player said something and he said, 'i'm your coach I can spit on you whenever I want to' in a joking manner. Because I'm really trying to wrap my mind around a coach in 2023 telling a kid he's allowed to spit on him.
@Kcmatt7 Bad guys do read that to their wives. But we also read 5:25 which tells us to love our wives as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her. It's literally telling me to die for my wife. So people saying the Bible is sexist because of 5:22 don't even read on to what husbands are to be.
Wow, clemens got creamed twice and nada
Lots of ranked teams lost today. 4 UCLA or 8 Zona play each other too so just in the top 12 Bama, us (?), Tenn, Baylor, silo tech,
@DanR He just needs to wear some leggings like Gradey, them pale legs...
Clemens the missing link leading the comeback.
Play bad and also let refs give you zero help
@DanR Go home man, like what you doin?
Down by only a touchdown. I'm sure Lance will draw something up.
@jayballer67 Where? 3 weeks ago we were getting walloped by Baylor. Beat them by as much. Last April, same. This team is never out of it.
Some people (not just you Jayballer) get all bent out of shape like we should be winning every minute of every game and if we're not, hells bells the sky is falling.
I'm not that worried about what I'm seeing.
Did he really foul sir berry?
Oh boy, 0 and 1 on floor at same time? I guess this game isn't that important is it?
@Jethro Hey, it grazed the rim
Um, block on Harrris' layup? Should have been an and 1?
The only benefit I see is Cincinnatti is a 4 hour drive from my house, maybe I could road trip it!
@kjayhawks A dude at Detroit Mercy just missed breaking Pete Maravich's career scoring mark. I read this:
Pete played in 83 games over three seasons and scored 6700 points or so. The 83 highest scoring games for an individual in all of NCAA the last 3 years adds up to around 3400!
@dylans I think you helped me make my point. Even if we somehow added Gonzaga it still 'looks like' a mid major, at least to many of us who remember when they were the mid major that started to make some NCAA tourney noise.
I'll admit Houston has some basketball history thats pretty strong. Cincy has some too but from eons ago. BYU, no final fours, UCF, no final fours. Cincy got into the Cfp and got routed, not sure BYU has ever played in a NY6 bowl game. UCF I think did once or twice at least.
I'm sure the AD's are at least salivating over selling some basketball tickets when their annual Jan/Feb visit from KU happens and they sell out.

I would never think replacing OU and Texas with those others is a good idea. Two legendary football programs that still draw lots of eyeballs, and two basketball programs that have been relevant for decades, if not elite, for directional non traditional powers just seems like we're setting ourselves up for a league with less prestige and power than more. Obviously OU and Texas left on their own but we're going to miss them.
Houston going to find out the Big 12 is a tad stronger than the league (I honestly can't think of it) they play in now, and I have little doubt we're still Big12 champs even if they're here.
- American Athletic (AAC).
Thanks I could have looked it up obviously but that kind of defeats the purpose of my point!

@kjayhawks It's been a lot it seems. Been a lot of nailbiters and with the urgency of must win games in recent weeks well it's just been a lot of really tense games. Glad my Jayhawks have delivered the goods again this season!
@mayjay I've seen several episodes. Good show. Was hoping for a snow day to watch some more but our forecasted 10 inches turned into a wet dusting that didn't even stick to the streets. Been good so far.
:(
@kjayhawks On Wisconsin!
@kjayhawks #1 team in the country struggling against 110 kenpom WSU.
@mayjay Thanks for setting the facts straight. Little clips on twitter don't always give the full story.
What's interesting is that there was a skirmish and 4 Bama guys left the bench and ran most of the way down court. Auburn coaches with the skirmish in front of them formed a line in front of their guys keeping them on the bench. 3 or 4 Bama guys tossed i believe.
Check out this clip. This one is going down in infamy.

Wow, Bruce Pearl was PISSED after the loss, mainly with the referees. It was just an audio clip I heard on sportscenter. Alabama got some home cooking and also had some of guys tossed for leaving the bench in a melee. Nate Oats is my least favorite coach in basketball now. McCaffery is just a clown, but Oats has so little character it appears. Even so Bama's 'great' fans don't buy up every ticket in a rivalry game with their best team in decades. SEC hoops sucks.
Gonzaga really desperate for wins playing Chicago State tonight. Chicago state is fresh off a win over Calumet College of St. Joseph the other day whom they doubled up. Cal College is a little NAIA school just down the street from my house and is a total nobody in the world of college sports. I have no idea why the Zags are playing them.
@Jethro On OT now they said something about ejections. Do you know about that?
