Teams burn a lot of energy coming back. They get close, then boom they give up a few and it turns into a comfortable lead again. I predict that here.

So ESPN has been plugging this special on Laettner's shot. They're going to call it the greatest shot ever. They probably won't say it was just a quarterfinal game.
They won't do a special on Chalmers shot, or Scotty Thurman's, or Keith Smarts.

Well @jaybate-1.0 opened it up. Look at the title! Sorry, just excited about BOTH teams. I wasn't really trying to sound defensive. By the way, the Badgers have one too, in 1941!
Bill Self and Bo Ryan both have lost twice in the first round, but UW doesn't have the embarrassment of Bucknell and Bradley. Bo has made 6 Sweet 16's (i think), reached the elite 8 and of course last year the final four. He has a pretty good record in the dance, but you know, a lot of people like to say KU chokes in the tourney a lot too.
Just wrapped up a win. Total fouls committed in the tourney 12, total turnovers in the tourney 10. Pretty impressive stuff.

Lest anyone gets the wrong impression. I'm pumped for knocking out ISU in a few hours. We need some momentum going into the dance.

Interestingly if KU plays that night i will actually be in Lawrence. My daughter is visiting KU, so I won't be posting to any live blogs that night anyways!
Will be my first visit to Lawrence since '89 so I'm a tad bit excited to go there!
I tell you what. ISU is here because:
Texas choked away a 10 point lead with less than three minutes left.
Texas decided not to call a TO and instead hoisted up an awful 3 with about 9 seconds left setting up ISU's game winner.
OU can't make the highest percentage shot in basketball, an unguarded layin, to tie them at the buzzer and forcing OT.
ISU is out of miracles We won't up late game winners anymore.
Way to put me on the spot. I've got to say Kansas of course. I never attended UW, just paid taxes to support it. But I also feel Bo Ryan can coach with the best of them it'd be nice to see him validated with a championship. Last year was a sort of validation, and I really believe that team choked against Kentucky, missed 1-1 FT with 30 seconds left which puts them up by four if we get a chance for a 2nd. Giving up the long three by Harrison, and a forced shot by Jackson at the buzzer when he had open options to pass to. I think last year was our chance to be honest. But sign me up, I'll go for a UW-KU final any day!

At least for me, the earlier season blowouts really put a negative in my mind about this team. And a couple of seasons with more than normal loss totals, I know we're spoiled, has a collective negative impact on the fan base. Continue this minnie hot streak today and then win some games starting next weekend and then we're starting to talk again about Jayhawk hoops the way we're supposed to be!
By the way, that was an insightful article. I don't know the writer, but I assume he writes about a lot of teams and he nailed it for us.

@VailHawk Yes, quite a bit. Frank, Josh, Duje are seniors, Sam a junior, Nigel and Bronson are sophomores. Traevon jackson if he gets healthy for the tourney is a senior. We're gonna need him to go deep
