Even after the 29 tonight I feel like Agbaji hasn't hit his ceiling yet. Bigger upside than Dave IMO.

Loved the poise of the freshman right off the bat. Clemence had some freshman moments trying to defend but a couple of steals and that big made 3 is why it's important to get him some minutes

Bobby played with a confidence to him. Very impressed with him so far.

You got it, they D'd up. I was impressed (Agbaji, Remy and others no-brainers) with Braun. It seemed there for a stretch that either he or Adams were there for tips or offensive and defensive rebounds.

With the UK loss and our win, only -3 in the all time wins race

@FarmerJayhawk That's a good thing... I'm on a time delay - DVR - but what do you think about Duke and Kentucky? I am not impressed. Duke looked solid, but only because Kentucky sucked so bad.

@Marco I’m with you there. I don’t think either team is a threat to cut down the nets. Duke doesn’t have a PG really. Kentucky looked like a mess. Wheeler sucks. Washington wasn’t good. Paolo for Duke is incredible though. What a player. Bring ‘em on

Got to watch some of Paolo's game when he played here for O'Dea HS, an all-boys religious prep school not unlike KC's Rockhurst High.

For the last couple of years he was by far the best player in the Metro, a league that's turned out NBA stars like Nate Robinson, Jamal Crawford, Jason Terry, Brandon Roy, Michael & Kevin Porter Jr. and others. By the way he played tonight, he looks like a surefire lottery pick.

I’m sorry but if Sahvir Wheeler is getting 38 mpg for you then you rent going to be a very good team… UK is not winning the SEC with this bunch. Probably better than last years squad, but we will have to see by how much. They got 16 more shots off than Duke and lost by 8 WHILE hitting 6 more threes than Duke. Yikes

People might say the same about Dajuan Harris tbf. I'm super happy we got Remy and not Wheeler. Big empty stats vibes from Wheeler. Yeah he will get his assists but it's because he is super ball dominant there basically isn't room for other players to get assists.

But yeah they do look like brick masons again. I'm sure corky is bemoaning the Iowa kid not being in there for Kentucky. I could see them finishing 4th in the SEC. Bama, Tennessee and just pick another decent team to finish in front of them.

@BShark Difference is that DaJuan knows he shouldn't shoot 15 times a game... Wheeler is basically a slightly better Charlie Moore. The understanding of his role is the big difference imo.

4 assists, 3 steals, 0 turnovers is a stat line Wheeler would never have.

Right I'm not trying to compare them so much as you could see someone saying the same comment about Harris. I personally think we have enough scoring talent around him (esp with JWill back) that it works fine.

That was a confidence building statement win, no doubt. I am really looking forward to this season. Michigan State came ready yet had no answers, and we were shorthanded. I still gotta print out our schedule. When is the next game? Agbaji was a monster.

Did Bill Self do a post game presser last night? Player interviews? I cannot seem to find videos of them on the KUSports page or Youtube, though I found Izzo's, Calipari's, and K's. I listened to the KU postgame Locker Room show and heard Gurley's quick interview with Self, but no media room interview. If you have a link, could you pop it in here? TIA!

I had to listen to the first half on radio and watch the second half on my phone on mute. Dejuan Harris is going to be an all conference player by the time he leaves and will be a B12 DPOY as well.

KU may very well have 2 guys averaging over 17 ppg in Ochai and Remy. Ochai looked motivated. It was also great seeing Lob City come back to KU last night.

It was also obvious last night was opening night as the chemistry with the newcomers isn't there yet.

Overall, last night was a good indicator for the season because KU was able to extend the lead against a quality opponent and not let the lead get back into single digits. I wish KU had a more challenging non-confernce schedule this year because that's what this group needs this season to reach their peak because I do think the first Texas game will be a wake up call for this group.
