Wow, what a great play for the TD!! This game could go 68-67 or something weird like that.

Nov 12, 2022 11:25 PM #2

Surprised there's no thread started. Am I missing something?

Nov 12, 2022 11:25 PM #3

PLANVILLE STAND UP

Nov 12, 2022 11:25 PM #4

That spot on 4th down was garbage though

Nov 12, 2022 11:29 PM #5

@FarmerJayhawk I think I've said it before, my husband was an all-state plainville cardinal!

Nov 12, 2022 11:30 PM #6

Where is Plainville?

Nov 12, 2022 11:32 PM #7

Our defense is behind our offense #newsflash

Nov 12, 2022 11:32 PM #8

@wissox about 20 miles north of Hays

Nov 12, 2022 11:33 PM #9

These spots are terrible

Nov 12, 2022 11:34 PM #10

@FarmerJayhawk I think that helps, SW Kansas. What is it known for?

Nov 12, 2022 11:34 PM #11

@wissox uhhh literally nothing as far as I know šŸ˜‚

Nov 12, 2022 11:36 PM #12

Gonna be a wild one it appears. Glad to see Lance go for it on 4th down.

Nov 12, 2022 11:36 PM #13

Tech's tempo is pretty intense so far

Nov 12, 2022 11:37 PM #14

just turning it on. Bean playing?

Nov 12, 2022 11:37 PM #15

@rockchalkjayhawk said in TTech Game thread:

Starting. Daniels in pads but I don't think he'll play

Nov 12, 2022 11:39 PM #16

Never run it out of the end zone

Nov 12, 2022 11:40 PM #17

Bean can flick it

Nov 12, 2022 11:43 PM #18

Once again, horrible offensive play calling.

Nov 12, 2022 11:44 PM #19

Doink

Nov 12, 2022 11:44 PM #20

Missed by a few inches. Damn

Nov 12, 2022 11:45 PM #21

Gonna be a long night

Nov 12, 2022 11:47 PM #22

Tech’s OL got healthy at the wrong time

Nov 12, 2022 11:48 PM #23

Tech running 100 plays against KU's defense is probably not a good thing

Nov 12, 2022 11:55 PM #24

Wow, what a tough run

Nov 13, 2022 12:02 AM #25

Not sure I liked the play call

Nov 13, 2022 12:08 AM #26

Ugh we needed that stop

Nov 13, 2022 12:09 AM #27

Do we even need a punt returner. We never force punts.

Nov 13, 2022 12:13 AM #28

well, this is a bit of an unexpected result so far. hmmm. crap.

Nov 13, 2022 12:14 AM #29

Maybe I can understand why no one started a game thread!

Nov 13, 2022 12:14 AM #30

At the very least i thought this game would be competitive.

Nov 13, 2022 12:14 AM #31

Had a bad feeling about this one. Very poor matchup for us

Nov 13, 2022 12:20 AM #32

Sigh.

Nov 13, 2022 12:21 AM #33

JOKES GO KU

Nov 13, 2022 12:23 AM #34

We really need to force a punt on this TTU possession

Nov 13, 2022 12:29 AM #35

Huge stop. Gonna get great field position

Nov 13, 2022 12:29 AM #36

Or not holy roll

Nov 13, 2022 12:31 AM #37

Cursed roll wth

Nov 13, 2022 12:32 AM #38

Need a long drive and 7 here

Nov 13, 2022 12:33 AM #39

Devin Neal is good at running the football

Nov 13, 2022 12:34 AM #40

And Tech is kind of shitty at tackling tbh but ya

Nov 13, 2022 12:40 AM #41

Entertainment at least even as the techies drive for another score.

Nov 13, 2022 12:41 AM #42

A turnover here would be neato

Nov 13, 2022 12:42 AM #43

Miracle! 4th down stop! Lets get the lead.

Nov 13, 2022 12:42 AM #44

Hell ya let's go Phelps

Nov 13, 2022 12:43 AM #45

Call TO coach!

Nov 13, 2022 12:45 AM #46

Man I thought he was out

Nov 13, 2022 12:48 AM #47

Well not the offensive possession we wanted but I'll take 21-24 with the ball to start the 2nd.

A few inches away from being 24-24 too

Nov 13, 2022 12:49 AM #48

Oooo that’s incomplete

Nov 13, 2022 12:49 AM #49

Are you kidding me?

Nov 13, 2022 12:50 AM #50

Bullshit

Nov 13, 2022 12:51 AM #51

Icing the kicker cost us!

Nov 13, 2022 12:55 AM #52

Even those announcers saw that, saying a lot

@Crimsonorblue22 said in TTech Game thread:

Ryan Leaf does know a thing or two about throwing interceptions.

Nov 13, 2022 01:02 AM #54

Weird half but the way the D played I’m glad we’re only down 6. Hopefully we can take the lead out of the break

Nov 13, 2022 01:15 AM #55

I like the give it to Devin Neal play

Nov 13, 2022 01:25 AM #56

Where's Casey?

Nov 13, 2022 01:25 AM #57

That receiver was in bounds but was pushed out in the air, I didn't think you could do that.

Nov 13, 2022 01:26 AM #58

I think they changed that?

Nov 13, 2022 01:27 AM #59

Shit! I knew they should've went for it

Nov 13, 2022 01:27 AM #60

honestly with this kicker. c'mon man.

Nov 13, 2022 01:27 AM #61

Another Doink? You've got to be kidding me. At first I thought i was watching a replay.

Nov 13, 2022 01:27 AM #62

This ain't soccer Borcila!!!

Nov 13, 2022 01:29 AM #63

Can we upgrade the kicker this off-season? Borcila can't make anything over 40 and this seems like the 5th or 6th time he's doinked off an upright this year. Upgrading the kicker needs to be pretty high on the priority list for Leipold this off-season.

Nov 13, 2022 01:30 AM #64

We gotta get a kicker in the portal. Borcila has gotten worse

Nov 13, 2022 01:33 AM #65

Good stop

Nov 13, 2022 01:34 AM #66

I don't get nervous til the last minute.

Nov 13, 2022 01:41 AM #67

Not a great play on 3rd and 2

Nov 13, 2022 01:46 AM #68

Idk how many more stops we can ask for

Nov 13, 2022 01:49 AM #69

Need a pick

Nov 13, 2022 01:50 AM #70

Penalties are killing us.

Nov 13, 2022 01:54 AM #71

tech has been a horrific 4th quarter team. Hopefully it keeps up

Nov 13, 2022 01:55 AM #72

@FarmerJayhawk Our offense hasn't been looking like it has what it takes.

Nov 13, 2022 01:55 AM #73

@FarmerJayhawk maybe not against us😢😳

Nov 13, 2022 02:06 AM #74

That’ll do it

Nov 13, 2022 02:15 AM #75

So many penalties

Nov 13, 2022 02:15 AM #76

Crappy penalty call

Nov 13, 2022 02:15 AM #77

Wow. That’s a good block

Nov 13, 2022 02:16 AM #78

Perfect technic

Nov 13, 2022 02:17 AM #79

Dang slight overthrow

Nov 13, 2022 02:17 AM #80

WHEEEWWWW!!!!!!

Nov 13, 2022 02:18 AM #81

Feet in

Nov 13, 2022 02:18 AM #82

That holding call was one of the worst calls I've ever seen

Nov 13, 2022 02:19 AM #83

That's got to stand

Nov 13, 2022 02:20 AM #84

two missed FG's hurting right now

Nov 13, 2022 02:20 AM #85

That’s a score. Hell of a throw too

Nov 13, 2022 02:21 AM #86

Yeah, xtra pt!

Nov 13, 2022 02:22 AM #87

You know what would be great right now? Two field goals

Nov 13, 2022 02:24 AM #88

Random, but Embiid 42/10/6/2/2 +22 in a win

Nov 13, 2022 02:29 AM #89

Have to hold them to a FG here to have any chance.

Nov 13, 2022 02:30 AM #90

Dang.

Nov 13, 2022 02:31 AM #91

Well, we have a chance

Nov 13, 2022 02:34 AM #92

Down 8 our kicker isn't a factor so maybe that's good

Nov 13, 2022 02:35 AM #93

Well that sucks gg

Nov 13, 2022 02:35 AM #94

That's game

Nov 13, 2022 02:36 AM #95

Sigh.

Nov 13, 2022 02:39 AM #96

I can't believe he didn't see him!

Nov 13, 2022 02:39 AM #97

Wrap up!

Nov 13, 2022 02:42 AM #98

This was such a winnable game! Takes some pleasure off the win from last week.

Nov 13, 2022 02:42 AM #99

Oregon on the verge of losing because of a baffling decision to go for it on 4th down inside their own 35 and not getting it.

Nov 13, 2022 02:45 AM #100

Got a Vasko sighting

Nov 13, 2022 02:46 AM #101

He looks confident

Nov 13, 2022 02:46 AM #102

Leipold looks pissed

Nov 13, 2022 02:46 AM #103

Nice run

Nov 13, 2022 02:50 AM #104

Dang. Cabledue just whiffed there

Nov 13, 2022 03:07 AM #105

Well guys, I know you don't score any brownie points when you lose , however thig is

I still see progress, I mean we get down 24-7 and up until that last couple of minute TD when Bean was flattened -we had come back to out score them 21 -- 12

Another thing is - the 35- 040 --45 point blowout losses are not there anymore - we have always been in the game. - -Devin another huge game - - -190 yards -Bean like 270 yards.

The only question I do have is - - when in the hell are we going to get a Place kicker - I'm so tired of missing field goals - -left 6 points there - -points left on the field again - -DAM - he is so inconsistent. & is Jalon gonna play again this year or not ? - -beenhearing he was right at 100 % and yet nothing. - Give Jason props done rally well in his absence BUT Jalen still needs to be starting

Like I've heard when he is ready he needs to take his position back - -you don't take it away because of an injury. - - Jalen had done nothing wrong until he was hurt - -when he is healthy he should start.. - -just curious - - next week against Texas

Nov 13, 2022 03:10 AM #106

Penalities --killed us tonight - -10 - - - Bean 17-28 - -for 320 yards - - Devin 190 yards - - Total yards -KU 534 yards - - TT - -510 yards. - -I think we all know what just has to get better

Nov 13, 2022 04:18 AM #107

We should've beat that team.

Nov 13, 2022 05:12 AM #108

Missed FG’s seemed to have a huge impact on the team attitude.

Nov 13, 2022 12:19 PM #110

I think if JD was back, we win that game. Not taking anything away from Bean, but JD's athleticism would've got him past Tech's option defense into the gaps.Bean was just a tad slow, imo. To be fair, Tech is a hard place to play. There's nothing else to do in Lubbock, so everybody goes to the game. The other factor was we were in a letdown spot one the road after clinching the bowl game, and Tech was fighting for their lives knowing they had to win to have any chance at a bowl game. And our field goal kicker went cockeyed.

Nov 13, 2022 03:37 PM #111

Defense was bad, kicker sucks, Bean has some pretty dang good moments. Just didn’t see that guy. I don’t know if JD is better.

Nov 13, 2022 04:05 PM #112

@Crimsonorblue22 said in TTech Game thread:

KU wins that game if JD6 is healthy and playing. He's a much better decision maker than Bean is which is why he won the job over Bean. Daniels doesn't make that pass in 4 on 1 coverage at the end of the 1st half that was anywhere from a 3 to 10 point swing in Tech's favor. He also doesn't take that strip sack that sealed the game for Tech. If Bean is our starter all year, KU has maybe 3 wins at this point. With a healthy Daniels, I'm convinced this team would be 8-2 right now with yesterday and the TCU games being KU wins instead of losses.

Nov 13, 2022 05:45 PM #113

Does anyone know whether KU is actively looking for another kicker for the future? Borcilla is a 6’2ā€ junior with a not very good record this year. He’s 4/9 outside 30 yards. His misses seemed to take the steam out of the Hawks.

Nov 13, 2022 06:56 PM #114

@Texas-Hawk-10 you're probably right, JD doesn't make many mistakes! Bean has made some really nice throws, last night that one to skinner and the throw to Casey, Grimm and Arnold. Also his runs are a plus. I'm not sure we could ask for a better backup. I hope Daniels can come back where he left off.

Nov 13, 2022 07:16 PM #115

I have stated that before in that I do not recall seeing a Div 1 QB other than Bean who looks so elite while looking so mediocre in the same game.

Oct 11, 2025 03:25 PM #116

Lets finish this game thread from 2022! Maybe we'll get a win this time! I'm not super optimistic but miracles happen. Busy sports evening. I don't like the cubs but I'll definitely watch and while my other team is pretty much sunk, playing Iowa at the same time as baseball and KU tonight means a lot of multiple screen views to try and watch all.

Oct 11, 2025 03:34 PM #117

By the way the game from 3 years ago ended up with us not being able to get a stop late, twice actually and led to us losing by 15. Jason Bean and Jared Casey opened the scoring with a 66 yard TD pass! Those were the good old bad days of KU football.

Looking at the box makes me realize as much as Lance has turned around KU football, we seem to be stuck in a fighting for a bowl birth phase instead of fighting for a conference championship phase. That game featured poor defense, poor kicking, lots of penalties. We've got a nice kicker now, and offensively seem to be just as good, but the others, uh, not so good.

Oct 11, 2025 06:18 PM #118

Ugh, more than a 2 TD dog tonight. I worry that KU's defense isn't up to this challenge.

Oct 11, 2025 11:23 PM #119

Nice 1st down and now 2nd 1st down.

Oct 11, 2025 11:25 PM #120

Yards seem hard to come by but they are getting them.

Oct 11, 2025 11:29 PM #121

Well, let's hope our defense can get a couple of stops

Oct 11, 2025 11:29 PM #122

Well started off well, but the sack was brutal.

Oct 11, 2025 11:34 PM #123

That’s OK. The defense is still on the bus.

Oct 11, 2025 11:35 PM #124

Lovely.

Oct 11, 2025 11:35 PM #125

Well you could script a worse start just not sure how?

Oct 11, 2025 11:35 PM #126

Ugly quickly.

Oct 11, 2025 11:36 PM #127

May have to switch over to the professional bowling channel.

Oct 11, 2025 11:37 PM #128

How is there not a single linebacker up the middle ?

Oct 11, 2025 11:38 PM #129

We need to fire our defense coordinator, his secretary, his assistant, his mother, send his kids to timeout, hide his remote control, take away his phone, let the air out of his tires...

Oct 11, 2025 11:39 PM #130

I think we should just close our eyes and enjoy that we’re on national tv today. Then forget quickly.

Oct 11, 2025 11:40 PM #131

Well we one up’d ourselfs from last week spotting UCF 14 points so we went with 15 this time. Tech may hang 60 on us

Oct 11, 2025 11:41 PM #132

@kjayhawks said in TTech Game thread:

Well you could script a worse start just not sure how?

Apparently you could script a worse start! Ha.

Oct 11, 2025 11:41 PM #133

This looks like 2017 KU football.

Oct 11, 2025 11:42 PM #134

On the positive side, Ballard had a nice run until the football squirted out of his arms.

Oct 11, 2025 11:43 PM #135

@patoh3 ugh

Oct 11, 2025 11:45 PM #136

I mean I get the high praise for tt but I'm getting a bit tired of it.

Oct 11, 2025 11:45 PM #137

That throw is not helping us get a 1st down.

Oct 11, 2025 11:46 PM #138

Life is back to normal. K-State wins and we suck.

Oct 11, 2025 11:47 PM #139

@wissox Would you rather they talk about how badly we are doing?

Oct 11, 2025 11:48 PM #140

Wisconsin losing 17-0 very early. This night is becoming very forgetful.

@patoh3 Fair point, but IDK, it sounds like a home telecast.

Oct 11, 2025 11:50 PM #141

The game is called TACKLE football. Not much of that happening tonight.

Oct 11, 2025 11:51 PM #142

@wissox !!!!!!!

Oct 11, 2025 11:52 PM #143

Tough to watch this game

Oct 11, 2025 11:52 PM #144

Did David Beaty come back and turn this into the 2015 team? My god, I didn’t expect a win but Jesus

Oct 11, 2025 11:53 PM #145

Lance’s face is almost the same color as his shirt.

Oct 11, 2025 11:54 PM #146

Nice tackle! 133rd?

Oct 11, 2025 11:54 PM #147

At least KU held them to a FG this drive.

Oct 11, 2025 11:55 PM #148

KSU is gonna dog walk our asses in our own house in 2 weeks.

Oct 11, 2025 11:55 PM #149

Nice tackle by Alexander

Oct 12, 2025 12:01 AM #150

Yeah Texas Tech is good. We could beat KSU but we arent beating this team.

Oct 12, 2025 12:02 AM #151

@approxinfinity 6-6 is looking like the best we can do at this point.

Oct 12, 2025 12:02 AM #152

We might if they put in their 2nd or 3rd string.

Oct 12, 2025 12:04 AM #153

36 vs 176 yards in the 1st quarter.

Oct 12, 2025 12:06 AM #154

The question is if their defense gets tired because their offense scores so fast

Oct 12, 2025 12:07 AM #155

Our defense has only been out there for about 6 minutes.

Oct 12, 2025 12:07 AM #156

Nice tackle Rawls

Oct 12, 2025 12:08 AM #157

They are going to put 50+ on us today

Oct 12, 2025 12:08 AM #158

Ooh , nice read Todd. Almost pick 6

Oct 12, 2025 12:08 AM #159

It sure would have been nice to get the INT

Oct 12, 2025 12:08 AM #160

Tech is playing madden on rookie mode right now

Oct 12, 2025 12:09 AM #161

At least this ia taking them 10 plays

Oct 12, 2025 12:13 AM #162

Defense waking up

Oct 12, 2025 12:13 AM #163

Nice sack!

Oct 12, 2025 12:15 AM #164

I think we have players on D and these guys could be something. The gashing 75 yard runs untouched up the middle feel inexcusable. Hard not to question the defense coordinator. Says the guy who never played football in his life.

Oct 12, 2025 12:24 AM #165

Finally a TD.

Oct 12, 2025 12:30 AM #168

Well, well!

Oct 12, 2025 12:31 AM #169

Wow. Ok, theres no way we could win this game short of a Behren injury. Lol

Oct 12, 2025 12:37 AM #170

A Stop and a score before half and this game is interesting again

Oct 12, 2025 12:39 AM #171

Rawls, another nice play

Oct 12, 2025 12:40 AM #172

Yes!

Oct 12, 2025 12:41 AM #173

I don’t know what the answer is on offense. We can’t block their dudes.

Oct 12, 2025 12:42 AM #174

Looked like Daniels got sped up there. Outside block held. But he remembered getting wrecked

Oct 12, 2025 12:48 AM #175

Yeah we cant block them.

Oct 12, 2025 12:49 AM #176

Woooooooo

Oct 12, 2025 12:49 AM #178

That was beautiful!

Oct 12, 2025 12:49 AM #179

Had a nice dinner but glad I kept watching.

Oct 12, 2025 12:51 AM #180

Come on D. Don’t let them score any points before the half.

Oct 12, 2025 12:52 AM #181

That penalty was hurtful.

Oct 12, 2025 12:56 AM #182

What is one thing that someone wouldn’t know about you?
I can sing.

— Lyrik Rawls

Oct 12, 2025 12:57 AM #183

Jaden is 16-19 for 164 yards or something like that. He's a nice QB for our team. Here's hoping Marshall will live up to his hype and keep this excellent QB play going forward.

Oct 12, 2025 01:00 AM #184

Wow, we have a kicker!! He's perfect on the year. What a boot!

Oct 12, 2025 01:01 AM #185

Wowwwww

Oct 12, 2025 01:03 AM #186

This would be such a steal of a win. They are going to shoot up that QBs leg at half lol.

Oct 12, 2025 01:03 AM #187

He was on Hawk talk this week. Very positive!

Oct 12, 2025 01:05 AM #188

I liked how the whistle blew and it looked like he was like ā€œf this! Im getting my practice kick!ā€ And kicked it. Felt like he got the better of TT calling TO

Oct 12, 2025 01:05 AM #189

Also Kotelnicki may somehow end up coming out of that Penn State job without a job. Could have been our succession plan. Crazy.

Oct 12, 2025 01:08 AM #190

@Crimsonorblue22 Who was on Hawk Talk?

Oct 12, 2025 01:17 AM #191

@wissox kicker and 2 others. Hanni has been having 3 guys on. Foster was on and the DE Leroy Harris

Oct 12, 2025 01:20 AM #192

I think tech is pretty silly for going to a back up and throwing the ball like crazy. Let’s see what the adjustments are here

Oct 12, 2025 01:26 AM #193

Jayhawks +21 in the 3rd quarter this year.

Oct 12, 2025 01:26 AM #194

Way to go D

Oct 12, 2025 01:27 AM #195

We r wrapping up!

Oct 12, 2025 01:31 AM #196

I hate the shotgun hand off on 3rd and less than 1 smh

Oct 12, 2025 01:31 AM #197

That receiver's got to fight for the first down. On him that we're punting now.

Oct 12, 2025 01:32 AM #198

Call sucked

Oct 12, 2025 01:34 AM #199

I haven’t been mad at Coach Z a lot but you either go under center and sneak it or do play action. They are giving us those little 3-5 passes.

Oct 12, 2025 01:38 AM #200

How mamy times do we have to fail running it up the middle on 3rd and 1 for our staff to know that it doesn't work?

Oct 12, 2025 01:38 AM #201

We can’t keep sending guys when the QB is running leaving the middle wide open

Oct 12, 2025 01:38 AM #202

I am proud of Jalon Daniels and Leshon for keeping us in the game

Oct 12, 2025 01:39 AM #203

@kjayhawks I'm not the smartest football mind but the TD's came off of opening up the offense.

Again Hanni mentioned the 3rd and 1 call but the TE just stepped out of bounds instead of Walter payton like plowing forward to get that first down.

Oct 12, 2025 01:39 AM #204

Their QB should run more often

Oct 12, 2025 01:40 AM #205

@approxinfinity like I said they were fools for sending out and passing repeatedly. Better go get some points here

Oct 12, 2025 01:41 AM #206

Anyone else notice the tech guy holding a tire?

Oct 12, 2025 01:42 AM #207

Yep

Oct 12, 2025 01:43 AM #208

Jd come on

Oct 12, 2025 01:45 AM #209

Oh man.

Oct 12, 2025 01:45 AM #210

If we don’t get a stop here, it’s all done but the crying

Oct 12, 2025 01:54 AM #211

Oh what was that play call? Awful

Oct 12, 2025 01:54 AM #212

Smh I like the PA but someone has to block

Oct 12, 2025 01:56 AM #213

have we gotten stuffed going up the middle 3rd and 1? Why the aversion?

Oct 12, 2025 01:58 AM #214

We just saw the difference between the two teams. 3rd and 1 for them is an easy pickup

Oct 12, 2025 02:00 AM #215

@Jhawk69 we'll never know the answer to that

Oct 12, 2025 02:04 AM #216

Well it wasn’t fun at all, then it was fun again and now it’s not fun again lol

Oct 12, 2025 02:05 AM #217

That’ll do it. They gave us hope at least.

Oct 12, 2025 02:05 AM #218

Well our defense gave us some moments but Tech figured it out with a backup QB. Lance has to figure this out because we have an offense that wins us lots of games.

Oct 12, 2025 02:06 AM #219

@wissox said in TTech Game thread:

Well our defense gave us some moments but Tech figured it out with a backup QB. Lance has to figure this out because we have an offense that wins us lots of games.

They just don’t have the bodies on the DL. Was hopeful we did but they’ll need to evaluate this offseason.

Oct 12, 2025 02:06 AM #220

This is not a bad loss. Tech is very good. That said, our DC should be out a job. When Tech's QB went down all we had to do was stop the run and we didn't even come close

Oct 12, 2025 02:07 AM #221

The only reason it was close is they got cute and tried to throw the ball. They only average 9.2 YPC and have 312 yards on the ground. This defense is so bad there isn’t a team left on our schedule that can’t beat us. Kamara and Rawls are good but the rest are slow and stinky

Oct 12, 2025 02:07 AM #222

Boy, these massive runs are inexcusable.

Oct 12, 2025 02:07 AM #223

Alexander is good

Oct 12, 2025 02:08 AM #224

The frequency of the giant runs up the middle feels unusual.

Oct 12, 2025 02:14 AM #225

These fans are punks

Oct 12, 2025 02:14 AM #226

The main issue is with this offense, we just can’t get the run game going consistently

Oct 12, 2025 02:15 AM #227

That’s not even close to a fumble

Oct 12, 2025 02:20 AM #228

This tech defense is damn good folks

Oct 12, 2025 02:21 AM #229

Targeting?? We have been called for worse

Oct 12, 2025 02:21 AM #230

You should avoid overusing smelling salts or holding the smelling salt too close to the nose. Concentrated exposure can damage the upper airways and lungs and cause allergic reactions.

Oct 12, 2025 02:24 AM #231

Mark me down as scared shitless Dylan Edwards and Avery Johnson run for 350 yards on this defense

Oct 12, 2025 02:25 AM #232

I want us to invest heavily in an offensive line. Getting outrushed 300-10 is getting old

Oct 12, 2025 02:28 AM #233

Dye is out and mason Ellis

Oct 12, 2025 02:29 AM #234

@Jhawk69 yes that 300 million needs to be invested in the trenches. That’s where the games are won and lost. I could’ve ran for 150 with the holes our defense is giving up. If don’t make first contact til 7 yards in front of the line, it’s gonna be a rough day.

Oct 12, 2025 02:31 AM #235

I hoping we can get a score here I put $5 on us at +14.5 lol

Oct 12, 2025 02:38 AM #236

Looks like we just quit smh

Oct 12, 2025 02:40 AM #237

Ok. I don’t think we are going to win this one guys. Maybe next week.

Oct 12, 2025 02:42 AM #238

At least they are saving JD and playing Ballard.

Oct 12, 2025 02:44 AM #239

That is a bad sign. For next season's sake we need to be seeing Zeke Marshall as QB2

Oct 12, 2025 02:45 AM #240

@patoh3 JD played a solid game IMO for getting sacked 9 times. Tech is top 5 in nearly every defensive statistical category for a reason. Just wish we had a defense to keep us in some of these games. It’s the exact opposite of last season where we couldn’t do anything on offense much of the year but defense kept it within a score or two. DK has to go at this point.

Oct 12, 2025 02:53 AM #241

@Jhawk69 I'm easily confused. Isn't it Isaiah Marshall?

Oct 12, 2025 02:56 AM #242

Isiah is right

Oct 12, 2025 02:58 AM #243

Isiah is his name but yes it is surprising Ballard is above him on the depth chart. We haven’t seen him throw much but he is an elite athlete no question

Oct 12, 2025 03:46 AM #244

@nuleafjhawk Yes. I'm pretty sure I have heard Brian Hanni call him Zeke Marshall though

Oct 12, 2025 03:51 AM #245

Zeke is a nickname for Isaiah/Isiah and started with Isiah Thomas of the Detroit Pistons which also happens to be where Isaiah Marshall is from.

Oct 12, 2025 03:54 AM #246

Texas Tech is one of the best teams in the country and showed why tonight. They are a good team and with their remaining schedule should reach the Big 12 title game at 12-0.

Oct 12, 2025 04:02 AM #247

@Texas-Hawk-10 I don’t see Tech getting tested from here on out. I hope Morton is okay for their sake

Oct 12, 2025 04:10 AM #248

@Texas-Hawk-10 Huh. And I always thought it was short for Ezekiel.

Oct 12, 2025 08:23 AM #249

@Jhawk69 You are correct, Zeke is not short for Isiah. Isiah Thomas was called Zeke by his teammates and apparently a handful of folks have carried that on to other people. Isiah’s being called Zeke now are mostly done due to a misinterpreting of that. It would be like calling all Michael’s Air or LeBron’s King - it was a nickname for a specific person that got applied to others. šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø I suppose you could call any and all folks any random thing your heart desires and see if it sticks - it helps if you start with a famous one though.

Oct 12, 2025 01:17 PM #250

@dylans I don't care if they call Marshall Hezekiah, Bocephus or Jim. I'd just like to see him play. I'm not dogging Daniels. I just don't think he's great. I have a feeling that Marshall could be really special. šŸ¤ž

Oct 12, 2025 01:34 PM #251

@nuleafjhawk If he can’t beat out Daniels, it’s likely he’s like any backup QB - a fan favorite until he gets extended minutes. Then the new backup is the fav!

Oct 12, 2025 02:18 PM #252

@dylans JD has had a very solid year thus far not sure why anyone would think he needs benched at this point. The thing is with Marshall is he is a freak athlete but that doesn’t take he is a good QB. We are not at practice every week so if the staff has Ballard above him, there is a reason.

Oct 12, 2025 02:47 PM #253

@dylans
Might be some practical use shortening all Isiahs, at least some way:

ā€œIsiah Thomas earned the nickname "Zeke" from a teammate, John Duren, who shortened the name "Isiah" because it was too long to say during a 1979 Pan American team practice. The nickname stuck because a song called "Zeke the Freak" was also popular that yearā€

Now I have to go listen to Zeke the Freak and see if it applied to Marshall as well

Oct 12, 2025 02:51 PM #254

Hmm there are 3 words in that song. It works.

Oct 12, 2025 03:01 PM #255

Apparently Lance and Joe got into a heated exchange post game over the tortillas being thrown repeatedly. Maybe this lights a fire under him.

Oct 12, 2025 03:18 PM #256

@kjayhawks staff picks are not always the best.

Oct 12, 2025 03:48 PM #257

Tech is on another planet. They likely won't have a close game in league play.

Oct 12, 2025 05:41 PM #258

Did u read a Swiss Army knife was thrown at a staff member? Our staff. There was a vote before season about throwing things, 15-1 against it, lone vote, u guessed it. Lance got after TT coach after game. Read they ball up those tortillas and also throw lil liquor bottles at visiting players. šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

Oct 12, 2025 07:17 PM #259

Crazy the amount of hawk fans that want LL fired right now in X and Facebook. Insane at this point

Oct 13, 2025 01:07 PM #260

@Crimsonorblue22 Was the knife open or just hurtled like a rock? I’ve not heard that fairly important detail yet. If it was open charges need filed.

Oct 13, 2025 01:18 PM #261

Didn’t say

Oct 13, 2025 01:59 PM #262

@Crimsonorblue22 It really doesn't matter. There should never be a weapon of any kind in a stadium/ arena. TT should have to forfeit the game and the win goes to Kansas. Seriously. The only way to stop BS like that is to administer harsh penalties.

Oct 13, 2025 04:43 PM #263

@nuleafjhawk The individual should be held accountable. Just like at any other riot. It’s not a faceless crime - there is a specific person that needs punished appropriately. That whole punish the team for some fan’s action is seriously flawed - you’re just asking for an antler to dress in KU garb and get KU in trouble or something similar.

Oct 13, 2025 09:26 PM #264

@dylans C'mon man, I'm trying to get us another "W".....

Oct 13, 2025 11:30 PM #265

The knife was turned over to TTPD. Gonna check videos. Wasn’t opened

Oct 14, 2025 03:51 AM #266

@Crimsonorblue22 Well that’s better. Makes it more stupid than malicious. A real head shaker - what a genius.

Oct 15, 2025 10:34 PM #267

Turns out the knife being thrown was fabricated by Lance. Or perhaps a case of operator gone wrong. šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø

"A pocketknife was thrown and hit one of our staff members," Leipold said after the game. "It's ridiculous. It's supposed to be for safety and things like that, and it's a culture that's been accepted to a point, and it hasn't changed. Eventually, somebody's going to be seriously hurt, unfortunately."

Texas Tech submitted footage to the league this week that proved the claim to be inaccurate.

In Texas Tech's response to the Big 12's sportsmanship inquiry, obtained by ESPN, athletic director Kirby Hocutt wrote that the school combed through all available video footage and interviewed eyewitnesses near the Kansas bench when the issue arose in the fourth quarter.

The video footage Texas Tech submitted raises questions about whether the pocketknife was initially dropped by someone on Kansas' sideline. The video shows a Kansas player reaching down to pick up the closed pocketknife on the field apron near the 38-yard line and handing it to a KU staff member.

The staff member handed the pocketknife to Leipold, who brought it to game officials. Texas Tech was assessed a 15-yard penalty for throwing objects onto the field.

"We believe this video makes it clear where the pocket knife originated, which will disprove all claims that it may have been thrown from the stands, and certainly makes it clear that it did not hit any member of KU's staff on the sideline," Hocutt wrote.

The Big 12 said Tech's fine was for the objects thrown onto the playing surface, while Kansas' was for disparaging comments about the conference and "an inaccurate statement regarding a pocketknife by head coach Lance Leipold."

Oct 15, 2025 11:52 PM #268

@dylans oops! Wellp guess we need to kick Lance to the curb. I know how you feel about liars ;)

Oct 16, 2025 01:01 AM #269

@approxinfinity It’s an indicator that all things may not be as they seem. It is rather disappointing.

Oct 16, 2025 01:46 AM #270

So a video showing that a Kansas player picked it up and handed it to a staff member means it wasn’t thrown there in the first place? Did a miss something?

Oct 16, 2025 02:08 AM #271

@dylans agreed.

Oct 16, 2025 02:32 AM #272

All I know about this story is it’s the dumbest thing I’ve seen in sports for a while and I’m clueless as to why it’s getting all the attention it is.

Oct 16, 2025 02:38 AM #273

@FarmerJayhawk If we had won, they could have thrown Samurai swords and hand grenades and nobody would have said a word.
