Anybody going?

My son in wichita and I are going tmrw. Last time was awful. Perry tore his patellar tendon in the first min. or 2. My son in Lawrence tore his this past yr, tough injury, long recovery. Without Perry they had nothing! They stretchered him out. 🤮 sad.

I just saw this morning the game is on ESPN + if anyone wants to watch.

The full Mass St. roster includes 11 former Jayhawks and a childhood friend of the Morris twins who played at LaSalle.

My thoughts on this group is that they have a good mix of players. Chalmers, Langford, Rush and Vick can all light it up from outside. Robinson and Lawson can clean up the glass. Lightfoot, Little, Traylor, and Young can all do the dirty work on both ends and don't need to score much. I don't know anything about Green's game and what his strengths and weaknesses are other than he's a 2 that played in Venezuela last year.

Apologies for the ignorance...but this is a 5 on5 tourney? Young guys, old guys?

I see the other ones on TV lately are 3 on 3.

Ok I really didn’t care at all about this admittedly but dammit we cannot lose Saturday

The refs lost total control of the game. Trob, love the guy but still has the same game. He does look dang good! We thought they'd foul him on purpose on that last possession. We also thought he was going to get thrown out or foul out. We sat w/some fun KU guys. They were betting on the the other team early in the game. We looked so bad. Passing sucked, Mitch! LaSalle dude! What did it look like from tv and from the announcers? Perry Ellis was behind the bench. Wonder why D Dot backed out? Get an offer?

I watched a little bit of it. Nice to see TRob, we don’t hear much from him these days. But the guy still has his game. Still think if he was born 20 years earlier he wouldve been great in the NBA. Defense was optional at best, lacking a PG and outside shooting was abysmal. Some stuff to work on before Mizzous team. I had shockers giving me jazz the way the last time went for our guys. I just laughed and said our Best guys are playing in the NBA little bro.

Having Taylor out there should help cut down turnovers by having a real PG out there.

KU up 9 on Missouri at halftime even with KU going ice cold at the end of the 1st half.

Trob struggling a lil more, didn’t warm up. Tyshawn a big help and not playing laSalle kid as much a bonus. Mizzou bigs wearing down? Not many subs for them. Vic hitting! Mari too.

Heck ya, I think the offense flowed much better with Tyshawn out there. We settled for a ton of 3 pointers but made a decent percentage of them. Really looked to me like our guys ran outta gas in that one.

Great to see this year's team behind the bench supporting Mass St. yesterday. Mass St sure could have used a couple of our guards yesterday.

Ya the team just looked to run outta steam at the end of the first half. Not surprising with the age of our guys but they got some wins this year so I’m not disappointed. As I mentioned before our guys that are the same age as most of other teams are playing in the NBA right now.

Have no idea how many today. TRob was on sports Sunday here and he said he was planning on coming back this season to get his jersey retired. Talked how special it was to play at KU! He showed a lot of love to the fans. I've always wondered why he never comes back, he's so loved here/KU!

T-Rob is still playing overseas, that's why we don't see many of those players back in Lawrence during the season and why it takes some for some of those players to get their jerseys retired.

Way too much hype over Mass St. I'm embarrassed by the lack of players, especially guards. I don't blame our former players for not playing; I blame whomever reported this as a number 1 seed and destined to win it all.

@stoptheflop #1 shockers got beat by the team that beat us by 20 some pts and they had several guys from other teams.

Sounds like Mass St. Collective is committed to continuing to help field a KU alumni team for the TBT going forward. The TBT this year was the conclusion of Keith Langford's playing career and sounds like he is committed to coaching tge team next year.
