Is anyone watching tonight? I'm still reeling from last week, but I'm giving the boys a last shot before moving on to basketball season.

I sure don't understand the line favoring KU by 9.5. The Illinois loss really hurt, especially as poorly as Illinois played. I'll watch tonight and hope to see much better execution by the offense. If I was OC or HC, I would only give Jalon one TO before benching him tonight.

I’m looking for a a much better showing tonight and it starts with play calling offensively. Neal has to touch the ball more than 11 times for us to be successful. Get him involved into the passing game and let JD cook with short and intermediate passes. Bean was always a better deep ball guy. We know JD can be successful if you put him in the right spot to do so. I was listening to ESPN Wichita this morning and both guys said Grimes should have his house on the market if he calls another game like that. They ripped him big time for lack of using Neal and going for home run plays repeatedly.

I’m really hoping we come out fired up and smoke them, UNLV is better on paper than last season. They did a solid job stopping us last season on the ground but I think we have a good chance to over power them at the line of scrimmage. I expect a high scoring affair with a Cobee pick 6. Kansas 38 to 31

Agree , I think is showing it's self line doing better they are showing, keep it up were fine.

Fun fact. My son who is a freshman wanted to go to the game tonight. We bought the All Sports Combo package when he enrolled. Somewhere I remember it said that seating for football games was guaranteed (but there's a lottery for basketball, of course.).

So he goes to claim his ticket today and there are none available. Somehow, the student tickets are sold out. He can still buy a single game ticket for the nice price of >half the cost of the all sports combo package. Boo.

Someone should let Ms Liepold know. There are probably plenty of fans to fill the seats for the games, but the administration needs to remove the barriers for the students (who have already paid for a ticket).

It is so stereotypical KUFB. K-State finds a way to win these two games and KU doesn’t. It is what defines our program.

Just like last week, as the game progressed, I felt there was no way we could lose. We clearly seemed the superior team.

Then JD crapped the bed multiple times and situational awareness went out the window. Do coaches not actually coach these players and tell them what’s important in that moment???

I would assume on the last first half drive before the JD interception a coach or two would say:

“JD, no need to be a hero here. We have a nice lead and we can keep it even if we don’t get a first down. Take what they give you. Be smart.”

JD: “OK coach, I’ll throw it randomly into double coverage to a guy who isn’t open.”

Wtf??? Why JD? Maintain the lead and momentum! My god.

I just randomly thought of a Mark Mangino press conference after we were destroyed by KSU 64-0. He was saying there was zero excuses for a D1 quarterback to play that way. That they were done making excuses. They weren’t letting anyone take their pride and Dignity anymore. Maybe LL needs to take that approach.

I’ve watched us get spanked many times in memorial stadium but this honestly is one of the worst feelings I’ve ever had as a KU football fan. One of the easiest schedules in FBS returning loads of talent. I’m not sure I can convince myself to want anything to do with Kansas football anymore. With the hype around this team less than 8 wins sets us back several years and cripples all the momentum. You may as well fire everyone and start fresh with the new stadium.

@Kcmatt7 yeah history matters A LOT for these things. We just don’t have it yet. We don’t disagree on this point but I did talk to some folks in the AD a week ago and seat demand at the new place is good. Which makes it so important to finish strong here. We need suites on the east side (and then some) to get this thing done right

@wissox ya I have zero idea why didn’t snap it as soon as he was obviously faking. It goes back to Grimes and the offense just being out of sorts often. Man I feel bad for Neal he likely hurt his draft stock on a 1-11 team when most places had him as 4th or 5th rounder last season.

I must have missed this fake injury, or was too steamed at the moment to notice. When? What happened?

I feel really stupid for telling friends around here who don't really know much of KU football nor care either, that: "This year KU is really talented and has a favorable schedule and could actually go undefeated. They'll probably lose a tight one or two, but this team is really full of exciting playmakers"

Well was I wrong!

There is some twitter noise on the goal line stand 4th down play that the officials just made it all up what happened there. The person tweeting it wasn't a KU fan but just thought we got screwed on that one. Shouldn't come down to us needing help from an official, but it was a largely looming play.

@rockchalkjayhawk The UNLV guy just fell down. Really didn't understand it. Announcers were calling it flop of the year, etc. Well I think our team is the flop of the year!

@wissox the original 4th down that they got by 2 inches was a joke. He was stuffed for 6 seconds and then went forward. If the play wasn’t dead it was a fumble because as soon as he got it, we stripped him. The officials were almost as bad as us. The PI call was wrong, if the ball was uncatchable, by rule it can only be holding. If you watched the OSU vs Arkansas game, they picked up 2 flags in the exact same situation. It that was truly a penalty you could just under throw every play. I also rewatched JDs scramble, he got the first down or was with in a few inches he sure as hell was no where near 2 yards short. We lost this on our own but these guys make 6 figures a year and should have some accountability IMO.

I am still SMH on how quickly things have gone south.

When you invest more in a program, losses hurt more. Thats why I am feeling it more this year.

@AsadZ yes people that have invested in this team like myself for decades thinking we have turned a corner. It’s an even worse feeling in the morning. I’m fine when we get beat by a better team and it’s clear they have better players than us. That has not been the case the last two weeks. We should’ve won by a minimum of 2 scores. To me it goes back to poor coaching not putting players in the right spots to succeed. Baylor fans had a field day on Grimes last night on X. They said we told y’all he was a total mess. LL has to take over the offense or coach Z.

@FarmerJayhawk They love Kansas City because most of them have never been to a place with 'lectricity, running water and toilet facilities that didn't consist of a hole in the ground.

Eating but not enjoying humble pie today: before the season I complained about playing Lindenwood falsely believing KU's program no longer needed to schedule a much smaller school. Now, I thank the genius who scheduled Lindenwood.

Oh no doubt FSU is a lot worse. Mike gets an 80 mil extension and extends the entire staff with some significant raises, spends 13 mil in NIL and tanks the program to the ground, right where he got it from. Impressive stuff.

The fact remains we're basically 2 INT's away from having a perfect season so far, and while the wins would have been still fairly ugly, they would have been wins and the general feeling is better. If these losses hasten Grimes removal from the staff (fat chance) then they might be worth it.

People can tweet anything and so I'll just repeat if this without fact checking. Grimes is 2-15 in his last 17 games as an OC.

Dallas is doing MUCH to make me feel better about our game Friday.
