Disclaimer: I know little about these opponents! Did a little research. Still know little.

Fresno, August 23 (wow, that's early) Early season jitters, but solid 21 point win.

Wagner Aug 29. (wow, 2 games before September). Nothing but a blowout would be panic inducing.

Missouri. Sept. 6. First real competition. Away. As much as I hate to say it, I have little confidence here.

West Virginia Sept 20. Home game. Last years meltdown avenged. 3-1

Cincy Sept 27 Home Bears of all kinds not good at football. We win. 4-1. Only 2 games to bowl eligibility.

UCF. Oct 4 Away. Athlon has them dead last in the league so I'll give us our 5th win and a gaudy 5-1 record.

TTech. Oct 11 Away No chance. 5-2

Silo Tech Oct 25 We've been so close. Home field advantage never seems to make a difference against these guys and they're highly regarded. I want to pick us, but reality hits hard once again. 5-3

OkieSt Nov. 1. Home. Should be a fairly easy one. Bowl Eligible! 6-3

Arizona. Nov 8 Away. They'll be ranked. I think we lose. 6-4

Another 2 week layoff, the 3rd of the season.

At ISU. Nov 22. We've had their number. The coach everyone lists as the next great one to move on can't beat Kansas. We're in their head. 7-4

Utah. Nov 28 They're supposed to be better than last years disappointing team but we want this win badly to go 6-3 in conference and play in a decent bowl game.

Another disappointing bowl-less season means Lance starts to feel the heat a little bit. The new OC was an exciting pick. Do our WR's pick up the slack after the loss of the exciting playmakers from the past years? I think the key is there.

We are no longer to be overlooked in the league. Last season may cause some to do so but the magic of the refurbished stadium and an energized fan base leads to a nice season once again.

I like your positivity!

Jun 19, 2025 03:08 AM #3

@Crimsonorblue22 Don't get used to it! How are you feeling about the season?

Jun 19, 2025 04:46 AM #4

@wissox have no idea!

Jun 19, 2025 12:55 PM #5

@wissox hey - someone hacked your account.

KU goes 12-0 - they skip the playoffs and go straight to the Super Bowl šŸˆ šŸ†

Jun 19, 2025 04:26 PM #6

@nuleafjhawk I think it was my wife. I'd never post such an optimistic outlook for KU football.

Jun 19, 2025 05:38 PM #7

ESPN's FPI has KU as the 4th best team in the Big 12 and predicting an 8-4 record.

Jun 20, 2025 11:22 AM #8

@Texas-Hawk-10 probably not a lot of KU football fans that would be upset with that

Jun 20, 2025 01:16 PM #9

Lance’ll make em dance

I believe their FPI also has KU as the 3rd best chance to win the Big 12 likely because KU has a relatively soft conference schedule on paper. That was also true last year and we ended up with toughest conference schedule I believe.

Returning to a bowl game is a must with how much has been invested into football

Jun 21, 2025 01:42 PM #12

@BShark Seems to be partially at the expense of the basketball team. Would be nice to have funds to allocate to the program I watch as opposed to football. Being great at one thing is way better than being mediocre at two.

Jun 21, 2025 02:21 PM #13

@dylans hoping an investment in football now is an investment in basketball later.

Jun 21, 2025 02:51 PM #14

@approxinfinity Maybe. I believe that is the goal. That is the model at other schools without the rich basketball history that KU has. I just hate breaking what is working in favor of doing what everyone else is doing. It would be best to hit up different donors (build your own support) for football as opposed to over taxing those that support the basketball team.

I just want to make a bowl game and beat our rivals on the gridiron. I think a bowl game is a must with the current state of the football program and the money dumped into it. I’m excited to see our new offensive coordinators in action. Old news of course but I was not even remotely impressed with Grimes at that position. I loved coach K and how he had so much going on presnap to bait the defense. We went from that to just hike it and run the play. I screamed at my TV repeatedly at the play calling and begged them to include Neal in the passing game much of the year. The last 4 games they finally did and we went 3-1 in those contest. I’m sorry but that’s not gonna work at Kansas maybe Texas or Alabama when you have the best athletes on the field every week. I’m gonna go 7-5 this year as my official prediction. We need JD 6 from a few years ago, he showed flashes last season but wasn’t the same.

Donors will have expectations this year. Fans as well with the new ticket model

Aug 04, 2025 07:48 PM #18

My opinion, JD6 should be sharper. I expect meltdowns to not be so horrific. I think the offense gets back its mojo.

7+ wins

Aug 05, 2025 12:10 AM #19

I think I agree entirely with @wissox except for Arizona. They seem to be in a bad spot. 10 wins is attainable which would put us in contention for a trip to Arlington.

Aug 05, 2025 01:57 AM #20

@Kcmatt7 All I keep hearing how crisp, JD-6 has looked. Really focused. I think some people are overlooking KU this Season , I hope JD and Henderson become lethal.--- I'm not shy I truly believe great chance for a Nine win Season.

Aug 05, 2025 03:01 AM #21

@FarmerJayhawk Agree with me at your own peril!

7-8 and I'd be pretty happy. More than that OR one of the wins is against KSU and I'm thrilled.

Aug 05, 2025 05:50 PM #23

Vegas odds are 6.5 wins, but it is weighted more towards 7 than 6 fwiw.

Aug 07, 2025 05:21 PM #24

People forget JD6 was as listed as a heisman hopeful by several media outlets just a few years ago. He seemed to be overthinking quite often last season and scared to run the ball when he had 15 yards of green right in front of him. Football is a game you can’t play scared

Aug 07, 2025 05:24 PM #25

@kjayhawks I don't forget how talented he is.

Aug 07, 2025 07:59 PM #26

@wissox Right if you think about how great Bean was in 2023 and JD beat him out in camp. He looked better early in 2022 as well.

Aug 07, 2025 08:36 PM #27

JD6 is talented but injuries have ruined him. He is not the Heisman caliber QB he was for the first half of the 2022 season.

Aug 08, 2025 12:12 PM #28

KU football seems to have a better chance of making the playoffs than KU basketball does of making the sweet 16. What weird times.

Aug 08, 2025 02:23 PM #29

@Jhawk69 I think the OC was responsible for making him looking so bad last year until something switched. Maybe Lance got tired of it, not sure how that change occurred, but I'd put the breaks on he's ruined talk.

Of course you could say Kostelny (?) was responsible for how good he looked the year before.

Aug 08, 2025 03:00 PM #30

@wissox The OC change was definitely a negative last year. Hope they have it right now.

Aug 08, 2025 06:55 PM #31

There will be two big scheme changes that are JD (and most QBs) friendly under Z/Lubick. First, attacking the middle of the field more. There was a stark contrast in Kotelnicki vs. Grimes in how they called the passing game. Also having a better receiving TE in Hanika will help. Next is the option game. JD can be lethal in the option game as we saw in 22. Lots of that was Lubick’s brainchild. Grimes barely called any (and sometimes forgot #4 existed). So those changes will be big, along with a more talented WR corps. The old trio were great, but Grimm was really the only guy that could consistently get separation. Henderson and Pickett both have burst and suddenness to win 1 on 1 and turn a slant into 6.

Aug 08, 2025 07:07 PM #32

@wissox I don't think he is ruined. I think he is still a decent college QB but I don't think we will ever see 2022 JD again.

Aug 09, 2025 03:13 PM #33

@FarmerJayhawk Interesting. I don't know anything about the new receivers, but I thought that trio we had were super talented and to hear you say these guys are better is exciting.

Aug 09, 2025 08:01 PM #34

@wissox Grimm and Arnold were good possession/slot receivers, but neither had great high end speed. Skinner was the best home run threat, but he wasn't a great route runner and his hands were below average.

Aug 10, 2025 10:22 PM #35

@Texas-Hawk-10 That all may be true but they were spectacular in a KU uniform.

Aug 10, 2025 11:12 PM #36

Skinner did have a heck of a grab today for the Jets so that was cool

Aug 12, 2025 08:20 PM #37

Hard to believe in a little more than a week this team is going to be playing and making my predictions come true.

Aug 17, 2025 03:51 AM #38

Nice to see KU receivers ball out tonight in the preseason. Skinner had a nice one hand TD for the jets and Grimm took back a punt for the chargers. Will miss the talented WR corps we’ve had the last few years.

Sep 08, 2025 08:51 PM #39

So far so good regarding your predictions.

Sep 09, 2025 12:25 AM #40

@Jhawk69 Anyone could have predicted those 3 results!!

Sep 09, 2025 03:37 PM #41

@wissox I predicted those 3 results too. Where our picks first diverge is that you picked us to beat WVU and I picked us to lose. Here's hoping you are right about that one.

Sep 09, 2025 05:29 PM #42

@Jhawk69 WVU went to Ohio last weekend and lost to Ohio (not State!) I think we can handle them!

Sep 09, 2025 05:35 PM #43

They lost despite the fact that Ohio's QB threw 3 interceptions. But I have an eerie feeling WVU will bounce back and play a lot better against us.

Sep 10, 2025 01:50 AM #44

@Jhawk69 getting an extra week to prepared and with how they have looked. There is not an excuse good enough to lose to WVU imo.

Sep 21, 2025 02:24 AM #45

Forecast looking good so far. Maybe can see how WVU lost to Ohio.

@kjayhawks yep!

Oct 12, 2025 04:09 AM #47

How are we feeling? Obviously tonight’s results weren’t shocking. But it feels like the KSU game has gained a lot of value. I’m not sure I see the loser of that one making to a bowl game. I will say this we have played a much much tougher schedule to this point. I think Tech is a top 5 team in the country and Cincinnati, Mizzou are at least top 20 ball clubs. The best chances at wins are our next 3 opponents.

Oct 12, 2025 03:01 PM #48

Over all hard to feel down about KU football. We beat 3 top 25 opponents in a row? last year. We have leveled up our recruiting. We have a new stadium. We have a 5th year QB and head coach that have been all class.

Yes, there were some head scratchers last night, but we also dominated for a stretch and almost drew level.

Our run D up the middle and O converting 3rd and 1s are areas for improvement.

Marjan kicked a 55 yarder with 10 yards to spare!

Rawls Kamala and Alexander are players. Other guys have stepped up throughout the year on D. I like what we are building.

We need Marshall to make the leap. I hope he will be ready.

For now, count me very happy with competitive Kansas football.

Oct 12, 2025 05:43 PM #49

Anybody know how bad Dye is?

Oct 12, 2025 07:24 PM #50

@approxinfinity I am very frustrated with our fan base right now.

Oct 12, 2025 10:22 PM #51

We are still KU Football even ignoring the Gill to Miles era.

LL was too successful almost too quick for his own good. Fan expectations are wild.

We need to give LL time with all his new shiny toys before we even think about pulling the plug

Oct 12, 2025 11:07 PM #52

Last night was predictable. How competitive do fans think the Chiefs would be if they spent $50m when the salary cap is $200m?

Oct 13, 2025 12:50 AM #53

@FarmerJayhawk correct, I LL should feel
Pressure if we miss a bowl game for the second consecutive year other than that he should have no heat at this moment. We are about 3 plays from being 6-1

Oct 13, 2025 01:02 PM #54

@FarmerJayhawk Without Mahomes they would suck - so you don’t have to go that far. The Patriots just handed the Bills a L and the Pats are 58m under the cap. The Eagles bought the last championship with by being about 200mil over the cap with dead money structured into future cap hits. Money is inportant, but the Jimmy’s and Joe’s you spend it on are more important- see UNC football and the GM and Belichek that everyone was drooling over in the offseason - ooh shiny failure.

KU football is never joining to be in the conversion of a national title. The only reason fans currently think KU is decent is the Big12 is really bad at football - like d2 bad. It’s good for KU, but whomever gets invited to the playoff (TT) is going to get embarrassed by a real team. I’m just trying to enjoy being above .500 and possibly going to meaningless bowl games, it’s a huge improvement.

Oct 13, 2025 03:21 PM #55

@kjayhawks It's interesting because we write the same thing on each of his seasons it seems. Our losses are not bad losses, this week excluded. Our losses are close games which the fatal flaw is the struggle to make the play in the last 2-3 minutes of games. 2 of 3 losses this year fit the category. So many what iffs last year. I forget the "Bean Year" where we had fewer losses which games were close calls hinging on mistakes in crunch time but I know there were several.

Oct 13, 2025 04:36 PM #56

We did give Mizzou a decent game.

Oct 13, 2025 07:24 PM #57

@wissox it’s like Kansas football is snake bitten in close games I could prob name 30 one possession games we should’ve won since 2005. Bout the only years we didn’t lose them was 07 and the Bean year of 23.

Oct 13, 2025 10:15 PM #58

@dylans it’s just an analogy, of course how you spend the money matters. It’s the reason Tech has a top 10 roster in the game. They spent more on their lines than anyone. They have the best DL probably in the sport. Turns out when you have an alum who’s willing to spend all the money it certainly helps. They have a chance to really make some noise in the CFP.

The Big 12 is nowhere close to D2, I was at a MIAA game Saturday and it’s really nowhere close to Big 12 (or really even any G5 league) ball.

Oct 14, 2025 03:49 AM #59

@FarmerJayhawk I agree. Spend in the trenches.

Oct 14, 2025 06:50 PM #60

@FarmerJayhawk @dylans Tech can play with any team in the country when they are healthy no question in my mind. They are about the only team ku hasn’t competed with in the last 3 years.

Oct 14, 2025 06:52 PM #61

Anyone else see the prices of tickets for next week? Cheapest ones are still $170 for two unranked teams. Then we wonder why we don’t sell out

Oct 15, 2025 12:16 AM #62

@kjayhawks It's probably because they always have free concessions. All you can eat/drink for free. Plus free clothes. šŸ™„šŸ™„šŸ™„

Oct 15, 2025 02:14 AM #63

@nuleafjhawk I remember going to games for $15 now we weren’t very good but damn I think anything more than $75 is joke

Oct 15, 2025 02:35 AM #64

@kjayhawks True story. In 1995 I was bored out of my mind (it's a chronic problem in the town where I live) and told my father-in-law that we were taking a road trip. KU and Oklahoma State were playing in Stillwater and it was something to do. They were both unbelievably awful so we weren't expecting great things, just something to take the edge off of the boredom.

We walked up to the ticket office and basically the lady said - pick your seats, they're all available. I picked a couple around the 45 yard line and she said "that'll be $76" I was like - no no no. I don't want season tickets! (The small college in our town charged $2) We settled for the $19 seats in the end zone.

Anyway, KU won so I guess it was worth it.

Oct 15, 2025 03:12 AM #65

@nuleafjhawk when my wife and I got bored one Saturday back when we first started dating in 2012 we decided to go to the ISU game. Found tickets for $15 and went for that. Now we didn’t win unfortunately but not shocking. I’ve never witnessed a win in memorial stadium. My first game was a beat down by OU in 2001, then A&M is 2002 that was back in my highschool days when we would go with FCA to KU football and KSU basketball likely because it was cheap lol. I’ve watched us lose to the likes of central Michigan, Ohio and Rice. I’m willing to pay a fair price but like I said they are pricing average fans out of sports in this economy.

Oct 15, 2025 01:18 PM #66

@kjayhawks youre right. Even spectating youth sports cost too much.

Oct 15, 2025 01:26 PM #67

@approxinfinity Shoot, even watching on TV is getting expensive

Oct 15, 2025 02:46 PM #68

McDonald’s cost too much. Everything is overpriced these days, but me. šŸ˜‚

Oct 15, 2025 04:00 PM #69

They just released the game time of the bowls for my son’s 5th/6th grade team and it’s at 1:00 so I can’t go anyways. I dislike the 11:00 am kick for a rivalry game. Shows how much the rest of the country doesn’t care about two unranked teams.

Oct 15, 2025 04:35 PM #70

@dylans This is way off course, but I just now had a phone call from Sirius XM. I dumped their worthless "service" 3 or 4 weeks ago and they have called or emailed every single day since. I was with them for 18 years and every year I had to battle with them over pricing. Last year I told them "I'm done. Cancel my subscription" The fellow said he would lock in the price ($6.75 for each vehicle) and the price would never change and we would never get another call from them. SOLD!

So last month sometime Capitol One texts us and says "Hey, this charge went from $13.50 to $34. 75. Is that ok?" God bless Capitol One. So I call Sirius, and very politely tell them to shove everything they can find up their thieving asses and I went to using Android Auto. I listen to whatever I want free of charge.

Oct 15, 2025 08:52 PM #71

@nuleafjhawk Don’t accept their deal. I have a 3 year deal for $3 per month flat. If you tell them that’s the only deal you will accept, they’ll come around. If you want XM back, that is.

Oct 15, 2025 10:51 PM #72

@dylans Thank you, but I'm really happy with the free Android Auto right now.

Oct 16, 2025 05:21 PM #73

Until our defense shows up for a game I am amending my prediction to whatever losing record they're going to finish with. I do still think we beat Okie Lite, and I think Arizona is a tossup, so a 6-6 finish is still possible. Utah looks inconsistent so not sure how they'll go.

Oct 16, 2025 05:24 PM #74

@wissox Arizona and Utah are such weird games m, both teams look great at times but terrible at others so I guess they mirror us in a lot of ways. The only game I’m focused on right now is next week. I think at this point it has become the biggest game in Both Leipold and Jd’s career

Oct 16, 2025 05:26 PM #75

@kjayhawks Oh I agree, India is usually really good in cricket, and badmitten so I'm not looking forward to our games with them.

Oct 17, 2025 12:31 AM #76

@wissox lmao these phones smh

Oct 18, 2025 10:45 PM #77

Jeff Grimes hasn’t scored a point in back to back games. Had one game where they scored more than 17 on the year. @wissox what type of stuff are they smoking in Wisconsin to pay us to have that guy. Looking like between this year and last it has been one of the worst hires in CFB.

Oct 19, 2025 07:44 PM #78

@kjayhawks Badger fans are pissed, including me. Funny thing is when they hired him I told the message board folks that it was a bad hire. Didn't quite predict this bad, but he did lose his starting QB early in the season. The talk about the program is Fickell is a bad NIL era coach as talent has left by the bus full for greener pastures in recent seasons. He hasn't mastered it very well it seems.

Oct 19, 2025 07:51 PM #79

@wissox the players are fickle, the coach is Fickell, wcyd?

Oct 19, 2025 08:48 PM #80

fickle implies some good, some bad, there's not been much good at all!
