This is probably the better of our two chances left to become bowl eligible.

Beating the defending Pop Tarts Bowl champion is always a big deal of course. So tomorrow we've got our work cut out for us. They're good enough to have beaten KState which of course we weren't. But they're also capable of losing to Cincy at Cincy which of course, we did too, but barely. They trounced Arizona, which we didn't.

So what does it all mean? Probably another close loss putting this season out of its misery unless we can surprise much tougher Utah next week.

Reasons for hope is a layoff of 2 weeks, but ISU has the same. Lance has their number is another reason for hope. But sometimes those streaks end.

I'm gonna miss watching Jalon Daniels. He's got some detractors here and some frustrating habits, like fumbling at really bad times, but his 21 TD's and only 3 INTs is an impressive stat. Hopefully he gives us another good moment tomorrow and that the D holds.

ISU is missing 4 starting DBs to injury. JD should have a great game.

I'm concerned , and yet not overly concerned , I mean we have beaten them the last two yrs so 50/50 chance anyways beat them at their place then beat them at our place

If we don't win today then we not going to ANY kind of bowl- --cause we aren't beating Utah

Defense picking up right where they left off in Arizona

Their O-Line is huge. Not sure if it's huger than others, but seeing lots of 330-340's on their roster and lead blocker on that first down run is 355 pounds. Can you imagine?

Really hoping for a W today. But, not counting on it.

My god it’s like we didn’t practice at all during the by week. I’ve always gave Lance credit because his teams typically improve thru out the season. This year it’s the opposite, we can’t make simple plays the later we go. We are gonna get blown out by 40 here today

We gave everything to football to win 5 games a year. Need to just stop the hell with new stadium, give to basketball and maybe we can be good in something again

We’ll see how our next drive goes. I might have switch to radio and listen while I do some yard work. Not sure I’m willing to commit 3 hours on this.

The problem is the offense has to be more aggressive, have to score every time we touch it 4th and less than 5 go for it, defense ain’t stopping anyone

It should be Isiah Marshall time but it won’t be because Lance loves JD to much. Just like Juan with Self last season will ride with them regardless of mistakes and score/wins.

I agree. Daniels isn't going to help win this game; 6/12 for 46 yds and 9 yds rushing. Clearly the Daniels era has ended and KU needs to move on. Give Ballard a quarter and Marshall the other quarter and start looking to next year.

Our formula of focusing only on offense and not caring whether our defense is capable or not is not a winning one.

If DK is not fired this offseason, we have no chance of making a bowl next year either.

Will Lance actually do anything with the last seconds of 1st half or will he kneel?

We are just not a well coached team this season, maybe some of that has to due with the personal stuff Lance is going thru with Kelly. But you can’t have terrible snaps and procedure penalties 11 games into a season. You expect that the first few weeks but we have way too much experience on this roster for that to happen.

@patoh3 Kneeling is a winning strategy, esp when you are scoreless in the 1st half.

The fact that Lance has not fired DK McDonald shows that he doesn't take defense seriously

Turnover time

This defense is offensive.

Our entire conditioning staff needs to be fired too. Having an entire defense that is barely strong enough to tackle is unacceptable

Its so bad that we can't even celebrate a tfl on first down because we know our opponent will end up moving the chains

If the defense had got off the bus, one stop won’t win games

This defense is pathetic. Changes have to be made there this offseason. Either buy the players needed for the scheme or get a different coordinator

The adage misery loves company is certainly true; thanks to everyone who still comes here to comment. Your comments help me get through another miserable year of KU football.

This team does just enough to get your hopes up, life was much easier on Saturdays when expected 2-3 wins and we had a dominant basketball program. These last few years have been the toughest in recent memory as a Kansas athletics fan. Guess maybe we can hang our hats on volleyball and soccer. 😞

This is the problem right now with college athletics, the coaches are getting insane buyouts after a one good year. They are worried the coaches are going to follow the players suit of just jumping to the highest bidder every season. They really need to regulate it from a players standpoint. Crazy seeing guys get bags of cash from 3-4 different schools. LLs buyout at 23 million is absolutely insane for a guy that has coached 3 winning seasons at this level of football.

@Kcmatt7 Agree totally , been saying most of the year DK McDonald has GOT TO GO.- - - -- like as yesterday, won't be soon enough. with he way he runs this defense is sad, having your secondary play 10- - -15 yards away from receiver is insane- -didn't think it was possible but our defense has taken a step back this year , like ew could afford that- -as a whole Season of under achievement

@SlimShaddy54 yes lines up linebackers right on the line every play so no one can make a play on the run and man to man coverage has a 10 yard buffer even on 3rd and 6. Schematically it’s laughable idk that our players are that bad just it doesn’t work and hasn’t all year since we started playing decent teams.

Can we run the ball on Friday? Do that and KU will jave a chance considering KSU just ran for almost 500 yards on Utah today.

Utah should also be extremely motivated after their close call today because they are the second team out of the CFP behind BYU right now.

I really wonder what f goes on during our bye weeks. Lance had solid record after them coming into the season and we just laid eggs after them this season besides WV. I went back and watched some the first quarter to confirm it as how I remembered and we just don’t look like a team that wants to be there. Coming in sitting at 5-5 with a chance to make a bowl game which hasn’t happened at ton around here and we look like we could two shits about it. Watching other games and being a former athlete myself looks like everyone else is jazzed to playing the game they love. We look like someone has a gun to the back of our heads forcing us to be there. The dang team looks it.

My expectations were clearly not realistic this year.

I just don't think we had the guys up front on D to be any good. Gave up 200+ yards rushing in 4 of the losses and you're not going to win those games.

They need to spend a good portion of the NIL money on DL this offseason. The front 7 just have to be better.

Hey, we'd have done high fives and cartwheels fir a 5-7 record just a few years ago. We're practically National Champions now.
