Not sure I believe it but that's the most valid news to come out in days.

I will guess that Ingram's destination will have a bearing in his decision; it would be too much of a coincidence that he waited until Ingram's announcement...and I don't believe in coincidences.

I don't have a clue. It could be that Diallo is waiting for Ingram to sign with KU so he can come as well and make it one of KU's greatest classes and the team a contender...or it could be that he will sign with KU if Ingram does not so he can have the spotlight and assured playing time, or...well, you see that it can be spun a hundred ways and I just don't know which way it will play... :(
At this point we are all just guessing...
I think Bruce Weber comes in at the last moment and lands both Diallo and Ingram. It has been his plan all along. Just needed to get rid of 5 guys to prove that they will get their playing time.
I'm baffled as to why Diallo is still waiting. Duke's not in the mix for him, so at least the Blue Snivels won't get both him and Ingram... And no documented connection between the two of them up until this point, right?
If they're both coming to KU (doubtful) I still don't get the timing.

shouldn't make any difference whether Ingram was to sign or not. 2 totally different positions, Diallo is a 5, Ingram is not

Diallo is not a 5, he is a college PF that might end up playing SF in the NBA, much like Ingram. At KU he would play PF. Would it surprise to know that both Lucas and Mickelson are listed as Forward at KU? They are...what makes you think Diallo is a 5?
Just sayin'... last week he asked for his picture to be edited showing him wearing the uniforms of each of his 5 potential school choices. Since he asked a Jayhawk fan/editing account, he better pick KU!.
By the way, that Jayhawk editor got grounded for doing Diallo's picture edit while he should have been doing his homework!

I guess I don't mind getting another great recruiting class, but the whole OAD thing hasn't made me too excited about getting any of these guys unless they'll stick around for a few years.

Diallo is down to St. John's, Kentucky, Kansas, Iowa State and Pittsburgh but it looks like the Johnnies, Wildcats and Jayhawks are the front runners at this point in time (according to Evan Daniels).
Diallo would be a monster addition for the Red Storm as he has a high motor, knack for finding the basketball and can develop more efficient post moves under Chris Mullin.
This is freakin' hilarious. The media is steering Diallo to St Johns. I am afraid because if you remember, he was going to commit during the Nike Summit game or right after....Here we are days later. It doesn't look good folks.
I'm totally convinced these programs are using something against KU and Bill Self. OH...I know now, KU is not an East coast program.
I want him to be a Jayhawk, but if that doesn't work out, I hope he goes to St. John's (not Kentucky).

@SoftballDad2011 I'm thinking not Kentucky based on his statement that he was looking for major minutes. He has seen that some highly regarded players go there and don't play a lot.....and there is competition on the front line there.
Gosh... it is hard to stomach this recruiting business. We've made it so the recruiting process is about all that counts instead of the development side.
We should be getting guys with the right size and shape for their position... good athletes... hungry to learn... morally upstanding... and the outcome of our recruiting should be visible in a couple to three years later. There should be a stair-step process involved to keep the elder players on the court, using their experience while the young ones watch on and learn. I miss that brand of basketball.
I've fallen in with the crowd and I watch all this garbage with anticipation... realizing our entire season boils down to a 17 yr old making his decision on where to go.
Someone please tell me this is all just a bad dream and we will all wake up tomorrow with a load of athletic players with size and an eagerness to learn!
I think I'll go watch the Kardashians now so I can prepare myself for the next over-dramatized recruiting announcement....
Why would he develop more efficient post moves under Mullins? He was mostly a SG and a shooter and not a post or "near the post" type of player that Diallo is.
If he want exposure, St John's is not the place to go; the Big East is a shadow of what it used to be and he would get considerably more exposure in the Big 12 that will continue to be one of the top 3 leagues.
I hear it's UK. But I will hope and pray that my hearing was bad and I'm wrong. But if not Kansas. I would hope for St John's but I don't like there chances either. I feel the worse but still hope for the best outcome Kansas.

I am watching it un fold atm. His Wiki page keeps changing to different schools and I think either someone hacked it OR he is changing it to build up some commotion around his recruitment.
